Catastrophic necromancer

Chapter 24: Mine Wolf King, Elite Boss

After passing through the maze-like mine tunnels, Lin Moyu entered the latter half of the dungeon. A massive corridor, about a thousand meters long, stretched before him.

On both sides of the corridor were rooms resembling prison cells.

Large iron doors stood outside each room, making them look like a series of jails from afar. Beast cries constantly echoed through the huge corridor. The air was filled with a bloodthirsty aura and a foul stench.

A massive monster blocked the path in the center.

This monster looked like a cross between a wolf and a dog. Even lying down, it was over 1 meter tall. Standing up, it would be over 3 meters high.

Its body length exceeded 5 meters.

Lin Moyu cast Detection on the monster.

[Mine Wolf King (Elite Boss)]

[Level: 15]

[Strength: 2000]

[Agility: 2000]

[Spirit: 1000]

[Constitution: 2500]

[Skill: Roar]

This was Lin Moyu’s first encounter with a boss-level monster, and an elite boss at that.

Though its attributes were still inferior to the skeleton warriors, they far surpassed other minor monsters.

“If even a boss has attributes at this level, the final dungeon boss must be even more powerful,” Lin Moyu thought.

“But it shouldn’t exceed the skeleton warriors, otherwise no one could clear this dungeon.”

This level of difficulty was normal for a Nightmare dungeon.

Generally, those capable of clearing Nightmare difficulty would be higher level than the dungeon itself. An elite five-person team might average around level 17 or 18.

They would also need decent equipment and skills.

Otherwise, clearing a Nightmare dungeon would be impossible.

Someone like Lin Moyu, soloing a Nightmare dungeon at level 10, was unprecedented in history.

Affected by the Detection spell, the Mine Wolf King awoke from its slumber.

It slowly stood up, its massive wolf body over 5 meters tall.

Lin Moyu and the skeleton warriors weren’t even as tall as its legs.

Its blood-red wolf eyes looked at Lin Moyu, emanating a bloodthirsty aura.

A terrifying pressure swept over Lin Moyu.

“Attack!” Lin Moyu commanded.

56 skeletons charged towards the Mine Wolf King like lightning.

The Wolf King suddenly let out a roar, activating its skill.

A powerful shockwave burst from its mouth.

Over thirty skeleton warriors at the front were all blown away.

The mine walls trembled, raining down countless stone fragments.

Even Lin Moyu, standing tens of meters away, felt the shockwave and looked surprised.

This skill was an area-of-effect attack with a knockback effect.

It was the first time he’d seen the skeleton warriors get blown away.

The skeleton warriors were thrown back, crashing into the ground and walls, looking somewhat disheveled.

Lin Moyu showed no concern.

He could sense that the skeleton warriors were merely knocked back.

The actual damage was minimal.

Their 3400 constitution wasn’t for show.

The skeleton warriors’ defense was already very powerful.

They quickly got up and charged at the Mine Wolf King again.

The slight cracks from the earlier attack rapidly disappeared, healing instantly.

Their soul fires remained strong.

“Use skills!” Lin Moyu ordered.

Berserk Strike!

The skeleton warriors that weren’t blown away reached the Mine Wolf King, their glowing red blades slashing down.

Blood splattered, flesh tore, and wounds deep enough to see bone appeared.

The Wolf King howled in pain.

Many skeleton warriors leaped high, landing on the Mine Wolf King’s body, their glowing red blades activating skills.

This scene closely resembled what Lin Moyu saw during his career transition.

This was how the skeleton warriors had killed the giant dragon.

The Mine Wolf King wasn’t as large or powerful as a dragon.

The skeleton warriors’ attack power was even higher than its, each slash causing considerable damage.

The Mine Wolf King rolled around frantically, its huge body repeatedly crashing into the mine walls, trying to shake off the skeleton warriors.

The skeleton warriors’ hands firmly gripped its flesh, hard to shake off.

The skeleton warriors on the ground pursued relentlessly, their blades repeatedly striking its legs.

Blades hit bone with metallic sounds, causing the Wolf King to howl in agony.

Its claws swatted at the skeleton warriors, the massive impact force sending them flying.

But the skeleton warriors weren’t seriously injured and quickly returned.

When it tried to bite them, its teeth shattered instead.

The skeleton warriors’ 3400 constitution made them incredibly tough.

“What use is a large body? What’s meant to die will die,” Lin Moyu thought, watching the scene.

While the huge body brought a stronger sense of pressure and immense strength, it also became its weakness.

If its defense wasn’t strong enough to withstand the skeleton warriors’ attacks, the outcome was predictable.

In just a few seconds, the Wolf King was on the brink of death.

Roar!

Another violent howl.

The Mine Wolf King activated its skill a second time.

This time it used full power.

The knockback effect of the Roar skill was pushed to its limit.

Under the shockwave, it finally shook off the skeleton warriors on its body.

Even the nearby skeleton warriors were blown away.

“The skill’s attack power is average, but the knockback effect is quite good,” Lin Moyu thought, watching the skeleton warriors scatter like flower petals.

His face remained expressionless.

The skill looked powerful, but the skeleton warriors hadn’t taken much damage.

Sure enough, the skeleton warriors rolled as they hit the ground, then sprang back up and charged back, full of vigor.

Suddenly, the Mine Wolf King turned and limped towards the corridor.

“Escaping?” Lin Moyu thought.
