Immortal and Martial Dual Cultivation

Chapter 1313: Swearing to Become Emperor

Without saying a word, the Sky Dome Immortal Lord threw a palm strike.

”Boom!”

When the Sky Dome Immortal Lord attacked, his body expanded as a wind blew. When the palm wind landed, his body had already grown as large as the Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva’s. He exuded Immortal Might, sweeping away all the Buddhist light in the sea of bitterness.

With a tremendous ringing sound, the Buddhist nation behind the Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva shattered and disintegrated. Light shone everywhere, and the layers of Buddhist light on his body dimmed several times.

”You…!”

The Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva raged, blazing with anger. All the Buddhist light on his body took flame.

”Boom!”

What answered the Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva was a second palm strike from the Sky Dome Immortal Lord. The three thousand arhats all died; no one survived.

Fear stirred in the Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva. He saw a certain coldness coming from the Sky Dome Immortal Lord—a coldness that ignored life and death. The Sky Dome Immortal Lord did not care about anything; nothing mattered to him, including life.

The Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva felt extreme regret now. Such a person could not be messed with. Even if he killed such a person, he would still end up suffering.

Just these two palm strikes—one destroying his Buddhist nation, the other his three thousand arhats—he did not know how long would it take to recover from them. It was also because of these two palm strikes that the Azure Emperor would later be able to chop off his head.

The so-called karma had already been sown. Without these two palm strikes, the things that happened later would not have happened.

”Stop! I’ll let you all through,” the Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva said.

The Sky Dome Immortal Lord withdrew his hand and shrank back to his original size. Then, he vomited three mouthfuls of blood. When the blood fell into the sea of bitterness, it immediately spread out and burned thousands of aggrieved spirits.

Xiao Chen thought, He was really tyrannical in this past life of mine. To think that he could use two palm strikes to force the Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva into meekly giving way without saying anything more in protest!

Like before, the Sky Dome Immortal Lord did not say anything. He quickly returned to the group of Immortals, then said calmly, ”I spoke to him already.”

These last Immortals were all joyful. They revealed a trace of a smile on their fatigued faces.

”Good. The six paths of reincarnation should not be completely shattered yet. We can leave through the God Path.”

”Heaven will never completely cut off one’s path. There will always be a chance for survival.”

”We can finally escape this tribulation. When the new epoch stabilizes, we can return and rebuild an Immortal World, rebuilding our glory!”

”That’s right. As long as Immortals are not dead, the world is still ours!”

Seeing the group of excited Immortals, the Sky Dome Immortal Lord remained silent like before, not saying anything.

However, when these Immortals arrived before the six paths of reincarnation, they were all stunned silly. Without exception, all six had crumbled.

”It’s over. It’s all over. Heaven wants Immortals exterminated. Our fate is set!”

The Sky Dome Immortal Lord pointed a finger, executing a Supreme Magic Skill. The Human Path of the six paths of reincarnation slowly mended. When the Magic Skill was completely executed, the Human Path of reincarnation had recovered.

”Sky Dome Immortal Lord, how can you still have such strong Magic Energy?”

”Even if the Human Path of reincarnation is rebuilt, it is useless to us. Sky Dome Immortal Lord, please rebuild the God Path of reincarnation.”

The Sky Dome Immortal Lord shook his head and said, ”If you want to leave, you should do so now. I did not rebuild the Human Path of reincarnation; it is just a temporary recovery. I do not know when it will shatter.”

”However, the space and time that the Human Path of reincarnation connects to might not have Immortal Qi. If we go there, we might very well just be waiting for death.”

”That’s right. Only the space and time of the God Path of reincarnation can allow us to rest and recover, recreating our glory.”

”Whoosh!”

The Sky Dome Immortal Lord’s figure flashed as he immediately entered the Human Path of reincarnation without posing a rebuttal. After he did so, the other Immortals all showed grieved and helpless expressions. They sighed and shook their heads before following.

The scene changed. The Sky Dome Immortal Lord and the last group of Immortals arrived in a wild and savage world.

Not only did this world not have Immortal Qi, but it was also rife with danger. The Immortals used their remnant Magic Energy and defeated the aboriginals. After that, they started to rebuild this world.

Time passed. One thousand years…ten thousand years…one hundred million years…

The Immortals died one after another. With each death, the Sky Dome Immortal Lord would bury them, leaving a nameless gravestone. He ran about everywhere, refining all sorts of Medicinal Pills, doing his best to extend the lifespan of the other Immortals.

However, everything was for naught. There was no Immortal Qi in this place. It was as these Immortals had said: they could only quietly wait for death.

Xiao Chen could feel the sorrow in the Sky Dome Immortal Lord’s heart. His heart had already withered away long ago.

More time passed. The initial wild and savage world changed.

Now, there was tall buildings, airplanes, and trains. When Xiao Chen saw this, he understood everything.

The Sky Dome Immortal Lord was his previous incarnation. That wild and savage world was the Earth where he once lived.

Little Three was shocked. Her talkative nature resulted in her speaking nonstop. Every time she saw something on Earth, she would mutter to herself for a long time.

However, Xiao Chen did not hear a single word. It looked like it was not by chance that he came to this world.

There had never been any coincidences in this world. Everything was determined by fate. It was clear that the final bits of Luck from the Immortal Epoch all descended on the Sky Dome Immortal Lord’s body.

However, this was not exactly a good thing. Even the Sky Dome Immortal Lord would not be spared from death. Before his death, he would even have to suffer from boundless loneliness. He had to watch all his friends die, one by one, and personally carve gravestones for them.

The Sky Dome Immortal Lord looked on helplessly as an epoch ended at his hands, unable to reverse the situation.

No one would be able to understand such sorrow.

Eventually, all the other Immortals died, leaving only the Sky Dome Immortal Lord alive in this world. His aura dwindled. Occasionally, he made some calculations and looked at the stars as if he was waiting for something in the final moments of his life.

Xiao Chen calmed himself, having figured out quite a few things. He knew that the answers that he had been seeking were going to come soon.

A saber light tore through the void in the starry sky. An azure figure flashed and headed towards Earth.

This figure was in a sorry state. His clothes were tattered. He was very weak, apparently severely injured.

Xiao Chen’s eyes lit up as he focused himself. It’s coming. Everything, all the answers, will be revealed.

However, just as the azure figure raised his head, almost allowing Xiao Chen a clear view of his appearance, a gaze shot towards Xiao Chen and Little Three. It was the Sky Dome Immortal Lord.

It was as if the Sky Dome Immortal Lord noticed the two peeping at him through space and time. This caused the hearts of Xiao Chen and Little Three to tighten at the same time.

”Bang!”

Before the two could react, they saw the Sky Dome Immortal Lord launch a palm strike. As if they received a heavy blow, the two went flying back.

Xiao Chen suddenly startled awake. When he recovered his wits, he discovered that he was already back in the Ancient Desolate Tower’s ninth floor.

Everything that happened, the various scenes that he saw, all felt like a dream.

”I’m going to die! I’m going to die! Little Three is in so much pain!”

Inside the Three Life Mirror, the pretty, little Item Spirit girl leaked tears as she rolled on the ground, appearing like she was throwing a tantrum.

”Get up! Get up! Quickly tell me what’s going on!” Xiao Chen urged excitedly to the pretty, little girl in the mirror.

This was simply too strange. When the Sky Dome Immortal Lord in the mirror attacked, the blow actually reached the two of them. The palm strike from his past life forced out the present him.

Furthermore, this happened at the most crucial moment, just as Xiao Chen was about to see that azure-clad bladesman’s face, which meant he saw nothing.

Could it be that the Sky Dome Immortal Lord is not yet dead?

Little Three stood up as she sobbed. Then, she stretched her neck and arms before saying doubtfully, ”Little Three does not know what’s going on, either. Elder Brother White Robes, don’t be anxious. Let Little Three help you figure out what’s going on.”

The pretty, little girl rubbed her chin and frowned. She muttered to herself as she paced around in the mirror.

”The past is already over. Firstly, I can be sure that this person is already dead.

”If that is the case, then the earlier palm strike is easy to explain.

”Some strong Immortals are very good at calculating the future, able to figure out the things in the future. So that is not impossible.

”Hehe! Little Three is really smart. That must be the case.”

Little Three said excitedly to Xiao Chen, ”Elder Brother White Robes, this is what’s going on. This Sky Dome Immortal Lord already calculated that there would be someone from the future peeping on this scene. So, he left some preventive measures at that time, covering up this segment and preventing people from seeing it.”

Xiao Chen retorted gloomily, ”How can that be? Didn’t you say that this Three Life Mirror can see the various scenes of the past?”

Little Three narrowed her eyes as she said with an embarrassed smile, ”I did say that, but Little Three was actually created by Immortals in the first place. Many Immortals have the means to avoid people peeping on them. The strength of the Magic Skills of those Immortals from the Immortal Epoch is beyond your imagination now.

”Just think about it. Since the Three Life Mirror can show the future, then Immortals would naturally have countermeasures against it. After all, if others could see their future and past, it would be equal to someone else knowing one’s karma. To Immortals, this was something very dangerous.”

Xiao Chen said in understanding, ”That is to say, the Sky Dome Immortal Lord did not have any means to see who was peeping on the past. Hence, as a precaution, he did not allow anyone to do so.”

”Yes! Yes! Yes! That is the case! Elder Brother White Robes is really smart. So, don’t be sad!” Little Three said after she figured things out.

Xiao Chen thought for a while. If he did not guess wrong, that azure-clad bladesman was definitely the Azure Emperor.

He had been clad in azure and covered in saber intent.

Furthermore, the Azure Emperor happened to kill the Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva back then, leaving a strand of his saber light in the Yellow Springs Road. It was quite possible that he had taken the Human Path of reincarnation and arrived on Earth after traveling through space and time.

Through this scene from Xiao Chen’s past life, he could connect all the clues together.

Ten thousand years ago, the Azure Emperor fought a huge battle with the last Tianwu Emperor, then another one with the eighteen Demon Monarchs. After he returned to the Kunlun Realm, the powerhouses of the various races surrounded and attacked him.

Beset on all sides, the Azure Emperor had nowhere to go. Forced by circumstance, he arrived at the Yellow Springs Road.

Due to a jolt in the space-time tunnel, the Azure Emperor arrived on Earth and met the dying Sky Dome Immortal Lord. In that case, Xiao Chen’s acquisition of the Compendium of Cultivation and the so-called Immortal Pill might not have been as simple as a coincidence.

As the reincarnation of the Sky Dome Immortal Lord, Xiao Chen would naturally obtain the Luck of the Sky Dome Realm. Since the Sky Dome Immortal Lord had held the remaining Luck of the Immortal Epoch, Xiao Chen’s rise in the Kunlun Realm could also be explained in a similar manner.

Karma, cause and effect. Without the cause of his previous incarnation, there would not be the effect of today.

What a grand plan! Xiao Chen felt fear just thinking about it. However, who laid down this plan? The Azure Emperor or the Sky Dome Immortal Lord himself?

The Azure Emperor was so strong ten thousand years ago. Who had directed the situation, leading the entire Kunlun Realm to attack him? All this was still a mystery.

Xiao Chen narrowed his eyes. ”I have to become a Martial Emperor. I must become a Martial Emperor. Only by going to the Azure Dragon Palace can I learn about everything from back then.”
