I'm Really Divorced from Your Sister

17: Preference for black silkChapter 17: A Preference for Black Stockings

Li Zhiyan packed up, preparing to embark on his trip to Zhe Jiang.

However, his mindset for this trip to Zhe Jiang was completely different from before.

He also intended to fully experience the convenience that a background could bring in this society.

Around ten o’clock, Dong Mengmeng called.

“Hello, Li Zhiyan, when are you planning to come to work?”

Li Zhiyan had forgotten about this; indeed, he hadn’t gone to work since he bought the car last time.

“Sister Dong, I’m planning to resign.”

Now, he no longer had any reason to continue working.

“Resign… Alright, actually, I had thought of this. Given your worth, there’s really no need for you to stay with us.”

“However, you can come back and visit when you’re free in the future.”

In Li Zhiyan’s department, He Shilian, who was dressed to the nines, looked utterly disappointed upon hearing that Li Zhiyan was resigning.

She had been hoping Li Zhiyan would come back during this time…

She wanted to try her best and seize an opportunity, but she didn’t expect Li Zhiyan to resign directly.

“I understand, Sister Dong. I’ll come back to the company when I’m free.”

“Mhm.”

After hanging up the phone, Dong Mengmeng felt a little lost. How wonderful it would have been if she had married a man like Li Zhiyan back then.

…

After sending a message to Old Sun, Li Zhiyan walked out.

Old Sun was already waiting at the entrance.

“Boss, where would you like to go?”

“To the high-speed rail station.”

As the car started, Li Zhiyan thought to himself that he should buy a supercar when he returned.

However, he should wait until after the Zhe Jiang trip to prepare for this.

Subsequently, Li Zhiyan made another call to Zhao Manman.

“Hello, Mom, I’m arriving in Zhe Jiang today. Do you have time?”

Zhao Manman’s intellectual voice quickly came from the other end of the line.

“I understand.”

“Contact me when you arrive, and I’ll drive to pick you up.”

Li Zhiyan remembered Zhao Manman’s car, a Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

And she was accustomed to driving herself.

She had never hired a driver…

Speaking of which, after buying the supercar, when the next sum of money arrived, he should also buy other cars suitable for sitting in the back seat.

For example, a Maybach or a rolls-royce.

Upon arriving in Zhe Jiang, Li Zhiyan collected his thoughts and called Zhao Manman.

“Mom, I’m at the high-speed rail station.”

“Okay, I’ll be there shortly.”

Zhao Manman’s voice was very cool and aloof.

In less than twenty minutes, Zhao Manman appeared before Li Zhiyan.

The district where Zhao Manman’s home was located wasn’t far from the high-speed rail station. Although the economy here wasn’t as developed as in Yu Hang District, its advantage lay in its very quiet environment and beautiful scenery.

Many of Zhao Manman’s businesses were in Yu Hang District, but she bought her house here precisely because she valued this point.

Soon, Li Zhiyan saw his mother-in-law.

“Xiao Yan, you’re here.”

Zhao Manman’s voice was full of intellect.

What Li Zhiyan first noticed were Zhao Manman’s beautiful legs in black stockings. Although her height was only 165 cm, her legs were exceptionally long, a perfect golden ratio.

Her appearance was extraordinarily beautiful, looking like she was only twenty-five or twenty-six years old.

And what impressed Li Zhiyan the most was not just her perfect D+ figure.

It was Zhao Manman’s unique preference for black stockings.

It seemed as if black stockings could not leave her beautiful legs for a single moment.

A professional suit and a hip-hugging skirt perfectly accentuated her elegant demeanor.

She walked up to Li Zhiyan, perfectly balanced on her Valentino high heels.

“Xiao Yan, let’s go.”

Looking at Li Zhiyan in front of her, Zhao Manman had a feeling.

Li Zhiyan had changed…

But she couldn’t quite pinpoint what had changed about him.

It seemed he had become much more confident?

“Mhm.”

Li Zhiyan followed Zhao Manman into the Mercedes-Benz S and sat in the passenger seat. Sitting in the back would have seemed disrespectful to her, as she was driving.

After getting in the car, Zhao Manman changed her Valentino heels to a pair of flats and handed the high heels to Li Zhiyan.

Just like with black stockings, she usually liked to wear high heels when walking.

Li Zhiyan took the high heels and placed them at his feet.

“Meng Ting hasn’t had any conflicts with you recently, has she?”

“No.”

Li Zhiyan still hadn’t told her about the divorce. Zhao Manman was genuinely very kind to him, and she was currently going through a turbulent period. Li Zhiyan didn’t want to upset this woman who was good to him.

“Mom, your complexion doesn’t look very good.”

As the car started, Li Zhiyan noticed that Zhao Manman’s black stockings had a tear, but she hadn’t even noticed it.

“The beauty salon issue hasn’t been resolved yet, has it?”

Zhao Manman turned her face, looking at Li Zhiyan with her naturally enchanting eyes.

Then she quickly focused her attention back on driving.

“It’s nothing… Since you’re here, just rest well, play at home for a few days, and when you go back, I’ll have Meng Ting transfer the shares to you. The most important thing is for you two to live well together.”

“As for other matters, they don’t matter.”

Li Zhiyan said, “Don’t worry, Mom, regarding the beauty salon matter, I’ll find someone to resolve it.”

Hearing this, Zhao Manman couldn’t help but be a little moved…

This child, how did he develop this habit?

She knew Li Zhiyan’s true capabilities. Previously, she had opposed Ji Mengting marrying Li Zhiyan because of Li Zhiyan’s ordinary family background and mediocre job.

He had no future, and in terms of prospects, she had always looked down on Li Zhiyan.

However, in terms of daily life, she had always treated Li Zhiyan like her own son.

“Alright, then you can help Mom out.”

“However, Mom’s issues are not just about the beauty salon.”

Zhao Manman said jokingly.

The issues with her beauty salon stemmed from her admirer, and she dared not let her husband know, otherwise it would truly cause considerable trouble.

“Later, I’ll call Su Jinan.”

Li Zhiyan didn’t hide anything.

He never liked to hide his wealth. He wouldn’t deliberately show off, as that was too ostentatious, but deliberate concealment was too affected, and Li Zhiyan didn’t like the feeling of only revealing his true identity after being looked down upon.

After all, his purpose for coming this time was to help Zhao Manman.

“You know Su Jinan?”

Zhao Manman couldn’t imagine what kind of connection Li Zhiyan could have with a prominent figure like Su Jinan, who held significant influence throughout Qiantang District.
