Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 1154: The Business and the Hidden

The Arena in Eustace City was still under construction… Someday, Vale dreamed of using that place for hosting large events or even just regular events to promote combat and strengthen the Arcanists of his territory.

With proper management, reward system, and gladiators or combatants, this would surely be big…

Magnus couldnʼt help but smile after recalling this… Perhaps, he should really stock up on their Noble-Grade Artifacts, so once the Arena was built, they would have plenty of artifacts that the fighters could use if they want to.

Of course, this was all just Magnusʼ thoughts…

Soon, Wesley presented the last chest… Just from the aura coming from it, Magnus knew that they were all top-quality artifacts…

”This is the last, Lord Magnus… Five Royal Artifacts. Theyʼre all rare and precious. We have here a spear that pierces through Advanced-Realm Defensive Spells, a crown that strengthens allied Arcanists, a crystal orb that stores vast amounts of Holy Energy, a ring that stabilizes soul energy, and armor forged with top-tier Runes capable of resisting high-tier spells…”

Wesley then closed the final chest as the energy was leaking a bit too much.

”These are but samples, Lord Magnus. Gentle Gold can provide thousands more, each tested and certified by our craftsmen. What you see here represents the quality we promise to deliver.”

Magnus didnʼt have to study the artifacts for too long, as he already knew, based on the energy they were emitting, that they were genuine artifacts.

He nodded slowly, satisfied with what he had seen.

”Very well… I hope that the quality of the products youʼll be selling here will continue to be this good. We will proceed with the contract… Just like what we agreed. The Shadow Castle will have priorities with the Mystical Artifacts being sold in your Gentle Gold shop.”

”Yes, Lord Magnus.”

Just like that, the problem with the Mystical Artifacts was finally resolved.

***

After the matter with Gentle Gold was settled, Magnus returned to his usual routine…

Most affairs in Clovis City and the Academy were left to his assistants. Well, Immortals did not need to meddle in every detail.

Unless it was something truly significant, like a merchant fleet tied to the Church of the Divine Sorcerer entering the Shadow Domain, Magnus preferred to let his aides handle the daily burdens…

With that weight lifted, Magnus decided to travel west. His destination was Eustace City, a frontier settlement that Vale had chosen for great changes…

The Combat Arts Tower was being transferred there, and alongside it, construction of a massive Arena was underway.

When Magnus arrived, the sight impressed him.

The Arenaʼs skeleton already rose high above the city, and its circular walls were also slowly enclosing a vast space.

Apparently, twenty thousand seats were planned in this Arena… Something that not even the nearby kingdoms had built…

It was also an enormous number considering the cityʼs current population, they have… Yet Valeʼs vision was clear, Eustace City would grow. With the Academy, the Towers, and the Arena drawing people in, the population was expected to reach a million in the coming years.

Magnus walked along the outer ring of the Arena, observing the stonework and the enchantments being embedded into the foundations.

ʼItʼs being managed well… Very good.ʼ He mused after seeing several members of the Arcane Bureau assisting with the construction.

It wasnʼt really surprising since with the help of Arcanists, such constructions would become ten times easier.

Magnus could already imagine the roar of thousands of spectators, the clash of artifacts and spells, and the pride of the Shadow Domain displayed in grand competitions that would start from here…

As he turned toward the Combat Arts Tower, Magnus paused.

”Hmm?”

There, among the workers and merchants, he saw a familiar figure with quite dignified clothing…

It was a man in a trench coat, monocle, and with a cane tapping lightly against the cobblestones. He looked every bit the nobleman. He was calm and slightly detached from the activity around him.

It was Valeʼs Avatar…

Magnus felt some embarrassment after seeing him.

He realized he had not been suppressing his Divinity, and his Immortal aura was radiating freely. He actually noticed a few powerful Arcanists wary of him but he just ignored them like he was used to.

However, the Avatar was different…

ʼUgh… Sorry about that…ʼ

Compared to Valeʼs Avatar, who blended seamlessly into the crowd like a normal man, Magnus suddenly felt conspicuous.

With a quiet breath, Magnus willed his aura inward…

In just a few moments, his Divinity folded neatly into his core, vanishing from sight.

In an instant, he appeared no different from an ordinary human, just as Vale did.

Magnus then paused for a moment as he thought of greeting Valeʼs Avatar… However, Vale had already instructed him that he only needed to talk to him if it was super important.

Because of that, Magnus felt that he shouldnʼt bother the Avatar… But he was also concerned since he was basically Valeʼs slave. Not greeting him when he clearly noticed him just doesnʼt feel right.

Magnus sighed, finally deciding that ignoring Valeʼs Avatar would feel disrespectful.

He stepped closer and lowered his head slightly.

”Lord Vale,” Magnus said quietly…

The Avatar turned his monocle toward him…

”Magnus,” the Avatar replied evenly. ”If there is nothing urgent, continue with your duties. I am only observing.”

Magnus nodded quickly. ”Understood.”

With that, the Avatar dismissed him with a subtle gesture, and Magnus turned away, heading toward the Combat Arts Tower to inspect its progress.

Meanwhile, Valeʼs Avatar walked through the bustling streets of Eustace City.

His destination was not the Tower, but the headquarters of the largest newspaper business in the Shadow Domain… The New Era Chronicle.

Vale just learned recently that the New Era Chronicle was not just a local paper… It had distribution networks reaching into the Ruri Kingdom, the Millton Kingdom, and several other territories. Its influence was vast, shaping public opinion and spreading news across borders…

ʼNow… Letʼs see what we have here.ʼ Vale mused as he had been sensing a powerful Aura coming from this building as well.

ʼIs it the Void Immortal hiding here?ʼ
