Help! The Villainess Trapped in the Beast World's Drama!

Chapter 120: Chapter 114: Taken Back for Interrogation

The moment they got close.

Shen Tang’s palm moved slightly, and an Earth Spike burst from the ground, aiming for the waiter’s thigh!

The opponent dodged in an instant!

This kind of reflexes is something an ordinary restaurant waiter could never possess!

Shen Tang’s expression changed drastically, and she immediately summoned several earthen walls, trapping the waiter in a cage-like confinement.

The waiter realized he was exposed, his expression turned sinister, and he smashed through the earthen walls with his fist, then charged at her with clawed hands!

Their back-and-forth battle almost tore the restaurant apart.

The surrounding diners were frightened out of their wits, scattering in all directions.

The owner came downstairs and, upon seeing this scene, nearly fainted from shock, wondering how two wild ruffians came in and started tearing up the place over a disagreement.

He and the other restaurant staff didn’t have time to think much and quickly grabbed their belongings, leaving the battlefield behind.

The young cubs took advantage of the chaos to run outside.

The chubby one looked up and howled at the tree, as if it was some kind of signal.

In the sway of the leaves, a tall and upright figure hidden in the treetops was revealed.

Xiao Jin knelt half-seated on the tree, one hand holding the trunk, his cold golden eyes heavily fixed on the scene below, not overlooking any movement.

On the rooftop not far away, two figures sat on either side, Shen Li and Jia Lan.

In the high sky, eagle cries echoed.

The king-like Golden Eagle led several Flying Beastmen, circling high above, surrounding the scene completely, their sharp eagle eyes the most sensitive detectors, leaving nowhere for any living thing to hide.

The restaurant was surrounded from all sides, sealing it tightly, just waiting to capture the prey.

Suddenly, Xiao Jin’s gaze sharpened, catching sight of Shen Tang running out from the restaurant.

The waiter was closely chasing her, his expression grim, intent on killing her.

When they were less than half a meter apart, the waiter’s hands turned into claws, swooping down, almost piercing Shen Tang’s back.

Xiao Jin leaped down, kicking the man several meters away.

The waiter clumsily got up from the ground, and seeing Xiao Jin appear, his face turned to terror, and he turned to flee.

The next second, Fox Fire swept across in front of the Beastman, turning into a wall of fire, blocking the way.

Several whizzing sounds came, sharp Wind Blades grazed past the waiter’s critical point, cutting off his left ear, spraying blood mist.

”Ah!” He let out a shrill scream, face twisted to the extreme, enduring the severe pain as he pulled a bomb from his arms.

Xiao Jin instantly rushed over, tackling him to the ground.

The bomb rolled out of his hand to a spot not far away.

Just a second before it ignited, it was frozen into a block of ice.

Lying on his side, the waiter, eyes bloodshot, shouted curse words, ”What are you doing! Attacking citizens of the city in broad daylight, is there no law in this land!”

Xiao Jin pressed his bleeding, battered head with a sneer, ”Caught red-handed, and still trying to argue?”

The waiter stubbornly denied everything, ”I don’t know what you’re talking about, let me go!”

He looked panicked, trembling all over, truly looking like an innocent, victimized citizen.

Jia Lan approached slowly, holding the bomb and spoke in a clear, cold voice, ”How can an ordinary restaurant waiter carry something like this around?”

Shen Li jumped down from the rooftop, walking over to the panting Shen Tang, soothingly asking, ”Are you alright?”

Shen Tang shook her head, ”You all came in time, it’s not so simple for him to harm me!”

Shen Li held her into his arms, turning to the City Lord who came leading the team, an icy glint in his eyes, ”Could the City Lord please send this man’s served dishes for inspection.”

The City Lord nodded solemnly, ”Rest assured, I have invited a professional Poison Tester, and will definitely give you an explanation!”

Shi Ye also felt apologetic towards Shen Tang, never expected such incidents to happen repeatedly right under his nose, putting her in danger multiple times.

Shen Tang was his wife’s life-saving benefactor, and he took this matter very seriously!

Yet when he personally brought the dishes for identification, no trace of poison was found.

The City Lord specifically had them test the plates as well, but still no poison was detected.

It was just an ordinary dish.

Now, everyone looked somewhat embarrassed, could they really have caught the wrong person?

The waiter screamed in collapse, ”I told you, I have no idea what you’re talking about, I carry explosives because I had enemies before, just kept some things for self-defense.”

”I was terrified when I saw you trying to catch me, and subconsciously pulled out the explosives.”

”You have no evidence, so let me go! Oh, and the medical expenses, you have to compensate for my medical expenses!”

Shen Tang didn’t believe the waiter was innocent, his vicious gaze and actions clearly showing intent to kill her!

After she pieced everything together, her heart sank, ”The utensils, the table utensils haven’t been checked yet!”

Lu Xiao, hearing this, quickly returned to the restaurant, the wind surging at his gesture, carefully packing the utensils into evidence bags to be checked by the City Lord’s subordinates.

The waiter’s face suddenly froze, struggling violently like a madman, only to be knocked out by Xiao Jin with a punch.

Soon, the City Lord returned with an ashen face, speaking in a deep voice, ”The chopsticks were poisoned!”

”He was very careful about where he poisoned, only applying poison powder to the upper half of the chopsticks, exactly where people touch, and this deadly poison won’t act immediately, acting only three hours later, causing the body to gradually rot away, with no antidote.”

Shen Tang thought, just as expected!

She often took the young cubs to the restaurant to eat, and since they couldn’t use chopsticks, she always used chopsticks to pick up the food and put it on their plates before serving them.

This person must have observed her from the shadows for a long time, coming to know her usage habits well.

Three hours, just as she would have finished the meal, headed home to rest, and then died of poisoning.

While the young cubs ate the food too, if she died, it must be due to some other cause.

Silently dying at home, no one would suspect the restaurant, and even less would suspect him, an ordinary waiter.

This way, the investigation would go off track, and tracing the true culprit later would be impossible.

It was destined to become an enigmatic mystery case.

Shen Tang was chilled all over, finding the murder methods of this group too clever, unavoidable.

When the waiter woke up, realizing things had been exposed, his face turned pale, and he was just about to commit suicide by poison.

Lu Xiao’s quick eyes and hands caught his jaw, forcing out the poison hidden under his tongue.

He spoke in a deep voice, ”Take him back for interrogation!”

The waiter was tied up, taken into custody for interrogation.

But this guy was obviously trained, his mouth tightly sealed, withstanding the instruments of torture falling upon him, being beaten to pulp, yet not uttering a single word.

Shen Tang approached, coldly asked, ”I just want to know one thing, why are you so determined to assassinate me?”

The Beastman was hung on the torture rack, covered in blood. When he saw Shen Tang approach, his eyes were vicious and venomous, letting out a strange smile, ”Blame yourself for coming back!”

”You should never have, never have returned!”

”You should have died on the road, died in the contaminated zones!”
