One Piece : Noble Phantasm Maker

Chapter 253: Chapter 253: A New Fruit, the Sound-Sound Fruit!

But when Raynor saw the fruit’s name, he couldn’t help frowning. He didn’t look very happy.

Raynor checked the information. This was the Sound-Sound Fruit, which could increase sound from zero decibels to limitless levels.

After reading the description, Raynor hesitated. Should he eat this fruit or not?

The fruit looked pretty ordinary, and he could only eat five fruits in total.

He couldn’t waste one of his five spots. With that in mind, Raynor put the fruit into his system storage.

He could always eat it later if he ever found a use for it.

After using both draws, Raynor left the lottery screen.

Although he now had five hundred billion, he couldn’t just spend it carelessly.

With that in mind, Raynor exited the system. By then, the sea motorcycle had already reached the place where the Merry was anchored.

Raynor parked the sea motorcycle and got off.

By then, Sanji and Zoro had already returned, and the ship was loaded with vegetables and meat.

Yet they were still walking with their heads pressed together, neither willing to give in to the other.

Raynor frowned. How had these two managed to buy groceries in that position? Weren’t they embarrassed at all?

Raynor and the others walked straight onto the ship.

Nami kept staring at Usopp, afraid he might do something stupid.

Just then, the Straw Hats heard someone crying.

”Hey, Raynor, Luffy... I’m sorry. I lost Robin.”

The Straw Hats all looked shocked.

Only Usopp kept a serious expression.

Sanji immediately picked up the sobbing Chopper and asked, ”Hey, Chopper, what happened? Tell me quickly.”

Chopper tried hard to stop sobbing before saying, ”I was reading in the library, but when I finished and went looking for Robin, I couldn’t find her anywhere. Do you think some bad guys kidnapped her?”

Sanji’s expression turned serious. But Zoro, who was standing behind him, spoke up:

”Don’t say stupid things. Isn’t she a bad guy herself? No bad guy would dare kidnap her.”

As soon as he said that, Sanji spun around and kicked toward Zoro.

”Hey, you hopelessly directionless idiot! How can you say that about Robin?”

Chopper had also transformed into his gorilla form. He grabbed Zoro and said, ”Exactly! How can you be so heartless? Robin is our crewmate!”

Hearing that, Zoro struggled and said, ”Come on, don’t you people understand humor? I was only joking!”

Sanji immediately shouted angrily, ”Jokes aren’t okay either! Let’s hurry and go save Robin.”

As he spoke, Sanji prepared to jump off the ship. Just then, Usopp said seriously:

”Wait!”

Sanji stopped and looked at Usopp.

”Hey, Usopp, what are you doing? Miss Robin has disappeared.”

Usopp looked at Sanji with a gloomy expression and said, ”What I’m about to say is even more serious than a crewmate disappearing.”

Sanji and Chopper froze, unsure what Usopp meant.

Usopp spoke coldly. ”Because someone on our ship wants to abandon a crewmate!”

The Straw Hats were completely confused.

Then Usopp pointed at Raynor and said:

”Hey, Raynor, you’re the one who told the shipwrights to build another ship, right?”

The Straw Hats were stunned. The entire Merry fell silent.

The cigarette Sanji had just lit slipped from his mouth and fell to the deck.

”Hey, Usopp, don’t make wild accusations about something with no proof.”

Zoro looked at Usopp seriously and said:

”Usopp, don’t say things like that carelessly. If you damage the bond between crewmates, I won’t forgive you.”

Nami stood nearby, trembling and afraid to speak. What she had feared had finally happened.

Hearing Sanji and Zoro, Usopp’s face darkened.

”The shipwrights told me themselves. They said someone wanted to spend two hundred million to have them build another ship.”

”Raynor, you can’t deny that you said it, can you? Nami would never say something so heartless!”

Raynor’s expression turned cold. So this was what they had been arguing with him about earlier.

Seeing how unconcerned Raynor looked, Luffy grabbed him by the collar.

”Hey, Raynor, I don’t believe you’re the kind of person who would abandon his crewmates. The Merry is our crewmate too. I want you to explain!”

Raynor hadn’t wanted to deal with the matter directly.

Once the Merry was repaired, the truth would come out on its own.

But even someone as carefree as Luffy was taking this seriously.

If Raynor didn’t explain himself, there would definitely be trouble.

With that in mind, Raynor sighed and said, ”The reason I want to build another ship is to repair the Merry.”

Luffy twisted his face in confusion and asked:

”Then why not just repair the Merry directly? Why build a new ship?”

Raynor didn’t want to explain too much.

There was no way to make something like this sound believable. They would have to see it with their own eyes.

With that in mind, Raynor sat down. After thinking for a moment, he said, ”Basically, we put the two ships together, then smack them into each other. The other ship will merge into the Merry, and then the Merry will be repaired.”

Luffy’s eyes lit up.

”Really? That’s amazing!”

Then Luffy turned to Usopp.

”You heard him, Usopp. We misunderstood Raynor.”

Luffy burst out laughing.

However, aside from Luffy, the rest of the Straw Hats still looked tense.

After a while, Usopp opened his eyes wide and shouted, ”You’re lying!”

Luffy immediately stopped celebrating.

His brows pulled tightly together.

”Only you would believe a lie that even a three-year-old couldn’t make up.”

Luffy’s expression grew serious, and several wrinkles slowly appeared on his face.

”Hey, Usopp, no one said we were giving up on the Merry. So what if we build another ship?”

”When the time comes, we’ll repair the Merry and bring along a bigger ship too. What’s wrong with that?”

Seeing Usopp’s condition, Nami tried to reason with him.

But after Nami’s warning, Usopp didn’t calm down. Instead, he became even more extreme.

Anger continued to burn in his eyes as he said, ”This isn’t about whether the Merry can be repaired anymore.”
