A Star Reborn: The Queen’s Return

In the early morning, the woman on the luxurious big bed woke up.

Her whole body was sore, and she arranged her big and wavy long curly hair while throwing a coy, coquettish smile at the man on the sofa next to the bed. She pouted playfully and said he was so forceful last night, before stretching like a Persian cat. She got up and went to the bathroom to take a shower. While the day was still not bright, she wore her own clothes and got out alluringly.

When she was out, she saw a girl coming out of the next room.

It was a very beautiful girl, and even though Susan was used to all kinds of competitors in the pleasure field, she had to admit that the beauty of this girl was the real depiction of devastatingly beautiful and femme fatale. She whistled in her heart, probably because last night she had been moist and was in a good mood. She smiled and waved to the girl. “Good morning, little girl.”

The girl was in clothing of supreme quality that had been meticulously tailored and ingeniously embellished to make her look like a fairy princess. Her face brought a kind of clean and pure expression, like one that hadn’t gone through sexual affairs. Her sparkling pupils were limpid, like the crystal blossoming under the moonlight. At a glance, Susan knew she was a good lady of a good family, not a special worker like herself. She was envious and a little jealous. What a good life she had.

The girl squinted slightly at her. “Why were you in Brother Pei’s room?”

Susan was shocked, then she smiled. “Are you Chairman Pei’s sister? The genes sure are good, you’re beautiful. Little girl, how old are you, I came out from your brother’s room early in the morning, what could have happened between a lonely man and a woman? A good girl shouldn’t ask.” She put one finger that was painted bright red on her lips in a “shush” gesture and walked away while laughing.

Xia Ling was not stupid. At the age of sixteen, she had long understood what she should know, she just wasn’t willing to think in that direction.

However, the woman’s alluring back gave her no choice but to think about it. Brother Pei… did he spend the night with this woman? What happened between them? Did he kiss the woman’s lips as he did to her, did he press the woman under him…?

She was too embarrassed to think further. Her face was blushing like fire and her heart was uncomfortable as if she’d been pierced by a needle.

She stood rooted to the spot for a long time in a daze, not knowing what was wrong with herself. Yesterday she had asked to change rooms with Xiao Yu, but Chu Chen said Brother Pei was angry and asked her to move back. Thus, she had moved back next to him with great apprehension and grievance. She had been anticipating… she didn’t know what she had been anticipating, but it was definitely not this.

Shame, anger, and a kind of betrayed sadness, all sorts of emotions flooded her.

She didn’t know how long she stood there for until the door next door opened again and Pei Ziheng came out. His tall body was dressed in a high-grade custom-made suit and his grave and stern features were God-like under the first rays of the morning sun.

“Xiao Ling?” He called softly.

He hadn’t expected to see her here and frowned undetectably.

However, she still found his unhappiness. “Weren’t you avoiding me?” She didn’t know why, but the grievances and anger in her heart could no longer be controlled. She looked up at him and shouted, “I spent so long avoiding you, why did you make me move back?! You, you wanted me to move back just to show me this?!”

She shouted with tears in her eyes. She seemed to be crying very often these days.

Not wanting him to see her fragile state, she turned and ran away down the corridor.

Pei Ziheng didn’t chase her. She was so beautiful in the morning glory, and even her grievous and angry expression made people feel pity. He stood on the spot, his fingers clenching into fists, controlling himself. Just before pushing the door open, he was still thinking about the scene of that night, her naked fairy-like seductive body spread in front of his eyes. When he opened the door and suddenly saw her, his heartbeat almost stopped. He feared he couldn’t control himself and would drag her in to tear her into pieces.

He felt he was really insane. His yearning for her was like the crazy growth of weeds and he couldn’t restrain himself no matter what.

Xia Ling ran for a long time, from the twenty-fourth floor all the way to the first floor. Then, she turned back and saw that no one was chasing her.

She reached out and wiped her eyes. She wiped away a little bit of crystal on the corners of her eyes and sucked her nose.

Don’t cry for such a cold and cruel man like him, it isn’t worth it.

She repeated this to herself over and over again, but she couldn’t help but feel sad. It turned out he wasn’t even willing to spend time chasing her down and pacifying her. Ever since that night, it seemed many things had changed. She didn’t know if she had become too strange and petty or if he had gone bad.

She was so upset that she wanted to go back to the past.

In the hotel room, Xia Yu received a call from Pei Ziheng. “Hello, Brother Ziheng? What, my Sister ran down while crying? Okay… okay, I’ll go find her now, you can rest assured. I’ll take good care of her.”

Xia Yu hung up the phone and climbed down from her bed. What happened to this troublesome Sister?

She found Xia Ling in a corner of the coffee bar on the first floor. The slightly frail girl held a cup of hot drink in her hand and was curled up alone in the corner of the sofa. The music was gentle and she looked so lonely.

Xia Yu walked over and called softly, “Sister.”

Xia Ling lowered her head and didn’t move nor say anything.

Xia Yu sat down beside her and grabbed her shoulder with a smile. “Why are you here in the early morning? I just went to your room to find you for breakfast, but you weren’t there, so I came down myself.”

Xia Ling was even more upset. Even Xiao Yu knew to find her for breakfast, but he didn’t know how to pacify her?

“My… is my expectation too high?” She whispered as if talking to herself.

“Sister, what are you saying? I don’t understand,” Xia Yu said. “What happened?”

Xia Ling said sullenly, “I quarreled with Brother Pei again. He didn’t even chase after me.” Her eyes were red and she wanted to cry again.

A hint of a smile played on Xia Yu’s lips, but her voice was melancholic and heavy. “Oh? Sister, no matter how good he is to you, to be honest, we’re just lodging under his roof… his work is so busy, where would he have time to pacify you? Maybe he’ll even forget about this matter after a few meetings.”

Xia Ling’s expression was gloomy. She thought back to her rough history and was overwhelmed with sorrow.

Xia Yu said, “Only us Sisters can depend on each other. Sister, I’ve told you before to stay away from Brother Pei for this period. Look, you’ve quarreled again.”

Xia Ling said, “I feel uncomfortable in my heart.”

Xia Yu said, “What happened this time? I’ll help you analyze it.”

Xia Ling felt it was difficult to talk about it, but under her Sister’s tempting, she told her about the glamorous model at the door in the morning.

Xia Yu’s expression was not good. After a long time, she said, “Brother Pei is just too much. He did this kind of thing and even made you live next door. Tell me, did he want to tell you that this was the type of girl he liked? Hinting for you not to like him one-sidedly?… Oh, Sister, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it.”
