From American Internet Celebrity to God Among Men

53: Chapter 53 Multi-Platform Matrix and the ”Hit Product Production Line”Monday morning, Los Angeles.

Alex sat in the temporary studio provided by Universal Music, staring at three side-by-side screens—on the left was the storyboard for the ”We Are Young” MV, in the middle was the arrangement score for Taylor’s tour audition tracks, and on the right was an encrypted folder labeled ”Platform Operations: Q4 Content Matrix.”

Six days until next Thursday’s bill vote. Three weeks until Taylor’s team audition. And twelve days since he last posted original content on platforms like YouTube and Facebook.

It had been too long. In the era of the attention economy, twelve days was enough to be forgotten.

”System,” Alex thought silently, ”bring up the current multi-platform data panel.”

The interface expanded:

The data was healthy, but the growth curve was starting to flatten. He needed a new hit.

More importantly, he needed to build a deeper moat on these platforms—when someone is a ”social media star,” the cost of making them ”accidentally disappear” rises exponentially.

His phone vibrated. An encrypted message from the Night Watcher:

”Lobbying for the bill is accelerating. Northrop is hosting a closed-door luncheon in Washington today, inviting 12 key congressmen. Winston is presiding.”

”Your response time: 5 days.”

Five days. Alex closed his eyes and took a deep breath. His Spider-Sense emitted a continuous sting at this message—not a mortal danger, but urgent time pressure.

He needed to do two things: first, stop the bill at the legal level; second, create pressure at the public opinion level. And for public opinion pressure, the best lever was his self-media platform.

But directly shouting ”this bill is problematic” was too clumsy. He needed a smarter way—using content to convey information and wrapping truth in stories.

”Marcus,” Alex picked up the phone, ”help me contact two teams: one short video production team that excels in political issues, and another team of data analysis and SEO optimization experts. Budget... start by taking fifty thousand dollars from my advance.”

”What for?”

”To build a ’hit content pipeline’,” Alex said. ”Over the next week, I want to release a series of content simultaneously on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Vine. The theme is... ’How the System Silences Ordinary People’.”

”Isn’t that too political? It might scare off brand collaborations...”

”I don’t need brand collaborations,” Alex interrupted. ”I need influence. And this series won’t directly mention any specific bill or names—just talk about ’the system,’ ’power,’ and ’truth.’ Let the audience connect the dots themselves.”

After hanging up, he pulled up the system’s exchange list. To efficiently produce hit content, he needed some auxiliary abilities.

[Effect: Allows vague perception of content themes and formats likely to go viral within the next 7-14 days]

A stream of information flooded his brain: In the coming week, a wave of ”ordinary people resisting large institutions” narratives would rise on social media; in short video formats, the combination of ”one-take shots” and ”data visualization” would be particularly popular; in music, folk-rock with social criticism elements showed signs of a comeback.

Good. With this direction, he could ”adapt” some future viral ideas.

He opened an encrypted document containing a list of hit video ideas from his system memory that wouldn’t appear until after 2010. These were memories from his past life; now he would perform ”American localization” and release them early. After a quick screening, he locked onto three suitable for ”adaptation”:

1. ”Five Seconds Changes Everything”—The original was a 2023 TikTok hit: a person’s small five-second action (propping up a fallen bike, picking up trash) triggers a chain reaction of kindness. Adapted into the 2015 American version ”Five Seconds of Courage”: a person stands up to speak the truth at a community meeting, triggering change in the entire community. Suitable for Facebook and YouTube.

2. ”Data Tells the Truth”—The original was a 2021 YouTube hit: using dynamic charts to visualize environmental pollution data from large companies. Adapted into ”Aviation Safety Data Visualization,” not naming any company, only showing public statistics on the ”correlation between aviation accidents and material fatigue over the past decade.” Suitable for long YouTube videos and Facebook infographics.

3. ”The Art of Silence”—The original was a 2022 Instagram art project: a series of static photos where figures in each photo use gestures or props to ”cover their mouths.” Adapted into a short video loop series: people from different professions making a ”shh” gesture, with text saying ”Some professions require you to remain silent.” Suitable for Vine and Instagram.

But this content required professional production. And what he lacked most right now was time.

”System,” he spoke again, ”exchange for Efficient Content Creation (Beginner).”

[Exchange complete]

A clear sense of structure formed in his mind. He opened the screenwriting software, his fingers flying across the keyboard.

Forty-five minutes later, the complete scripts, storyboards, filming plans, and multi-platform edited versions for the three video series were all finished. The efficiency was so high it surprised even him.

Next was filming. He didn’t need a massive team—for some content, a moderate sense of realism was actually more powerful.

That afternoon, Alex took a small filming crew (arranged by Hank, also serving as security) to downtown Los Angeles. The first series, ”Five Seconds of Courage,” required location filming in public.

The scene was set in the plaza outside Union Station. Alex played an ”ordinary young man” who sees an ”Aviation Safety Hearing Notice” posted on a bulletin board—it was real, scheduled for next week at Los Angeles City Hall.

In the shot, he hesitated for three seconds, then stepped forward and tore off a blank registration form.

Voiceover (his voice): ”Change often begins with a tiny decision. Like deciding to stand up and ask a question.”

The next shot cut quickly: he fills out the form; he appears at the hearing (using stock footage); he asks a question; other audience members begin to applaud.

The video finally froze on a line of text: ”What can your Five Seconds of Courage change?”

Filming took only two hours. The editing team did a rough cut on-site with laptops, and Alex used his Efficient Content Creation ability to quickly adjust it—work that would have originally taken half a day was compressed into forty minutes.

By evening, the second series, ”Data Tells the Truth,” was completed at Universal Music’s data visualization studio. Alex didn’t use any specific company names, only public FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) data, created into dynamic charts:

· From 2000-2010, the proportion of accidents related to material fatigue rose from 12% to 18%

· During the same period, the success rate of lawsuits against aviation manufacturing companies dropped from 34% to 19%

· A small line of fine print: ”If the ’Aviation Materials Liability Waiver Act’ set to take effect in 2023 passes, the lawsuit success rate is expected to drop below 5%”

This video was more hardcore, mainly for YouTube and Facebook. 15-second dynamic chart snippets would be posted on Vine and Instagram.

The third series, ”The Art of Silence,” was the simplest—Alex invited six friends from different professions (including Lena playing a medical student, and one of Hank’s team members playing a veteran), each filming a loop video: making a ”shh” gesture, then the frame freezing on the profession’s name. The background music was a minimalist electronic sound effect he had just written.

All content was completed before 9:00 PM. The promotion team Marcus found began executing the release strategy:

· YouTube: The three series were released simultaneously as a ”Truth and Courage” special, with links to the FAA’s public database in the description.

· Facebook: Focused on promoting ”Data Tells the Truth,” targeting audiences over 35 who care about public affairs, with precision advertising.

· Instagram: Posted ”The Art of Silence” photo series + short video snippets, interacting with investigative reporting accounts like @propublica.

· Vine: A condensed 6-second loop of ”Five Seconds of Courage,” adding tags like #Courage and #CivicDuty.

· Twitter: Screenshots of gold quotes + video snippets, tagging relevant non-profits and investigative journalists.

Two hours after the release, Alex stared at the real-time data panel.

”Five Seconds of Courage”: 470,000 views on YouTube, and the loop on Vine broke 2 million views.

”Data Tells the Truth”: 820,000 views on Facebook, with 68% of shares by men, and those over 45 accounting for 43%—exactly the voting demographic.

”The Art of Silence”: 220,000 likes on Instagram, shared by twenty-three art, social movement, and professional association accounts.

More importantly, the direction of the comments section:

”I never knew the success rate for aviation lawsuits was so low...”

”Is anyone going to the hearing next week? I’m in LA.”

”A musician seriously paying attention to public affairs, respect.”

”Does this have to do with his parents’ plane crash?”

The last comment was upvoted to the top. Alex didn’t reply but gave it a like—a silent confirmation.

At 11:00 PM, the Night Watcher sent a new message:

”I saw the content. A smart way. But be careful—Northrop’s PR team has already started monitoring. They might request the platforms to delete the content on the grounds of ’spreading misinformation’.”

Alex replied: ”I have three response plans: First, all data comes from government public databases with sources cited; second, I’ve already contacted journalists from ProPublica and Consumer Reports who are willing to do follow-up reports; third, starting tomorrow, I’ll begin a live stream series—’A Real Week: How a Creator Faces Pressure’.”

”Live stream?”

”Yes. One hour a day, showing my entire process from creation to dealing with threats. Transparency is the best defense.” Alex typed, ”And live streams are hard to ’delete after the fact’.”

”The risk is high.”

”Which is why it needs to be done.” Alex ended the conversation.

He pulled up the system interface to prepare for tomorrow’s live stream.

Ready.

Before going to sleep, he checked his fame growth. The three video series plus the upcoming live stream announcement had caused his fame to jump again:

Current Fame: 1,850,770 points (continuing to grow)

Enough to exchange for more abilities, but he chose to hold back—saving them for emergencies.

His phone vibrated again, this time it was Lena:

”My father contacted a friend of his at the FAA. That person said if you’re willing, he can privately provide some ’insider concerns.’ But he can’t go public.”

Alex replied: ”Tell him any information helps. Also, if anyone at the medical school is willing to anonymously talk about ’suppressed academic research,’ I can protect their identities.”

”You’re playing a big game of chess.”

”No.” Alex looked at the night view of Los Angeles outside the window, ”I just don’t want to disappear in silence like my parents.”

At 10:00 AM the next day, the live stream began.

Title: ”A Real Week Day 1: Creation, Threats, and Moving Forward.”

In front of the camera, Alex sat in his studio with sheet music and a laptop in front of him. He first played the guitar for ten minutes, improvising revisions to the bridge section of ”We Are Young.” Then, he turned to the camera:

”Many people have asked me why I post such ’heavy’ content on social media. The answer is simple—because creation is never just sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes, creation is walking in the rain, singing under threat, and singing even louder when someone wants you to shut up.”

The live viewership stabilized at around eighty thousand people, with comments scrolling rapidly.

He showed behind-the-scenes footage from yesterday’s videos, the process of creating the data charts, and even non-sensitive clips provided by Hank’s team of handling the early morning threat.

”This is my life,” Alex said. ”Making music, making videos, dealing with threats, and paying attention to a bill that could affect countless people. Is it tiring? Yes. But is it worth it?”

He paused, looking directly into the camera:

”If my parents’ story can push for even a slight improvement in aviation safety, it’s worth it. If my creation can make more people think about ’power and truth,’ it’s worth it. If I can prove—that an ordinary person, even facing a massive system, can make their voice heard and change something...”

”Then it’s all worth it.”

By the end of the live stream, peak viewership reached one hundred and twenty-seven thousand. The recorded video quickly broke one million views on YouTube.

That afternoon, the Night Watcher sent an urgent message:

”Northrop is preparing to strike back. They’ve bought off three ’aviation experts’ who will appear on Fox News tomorrow to question your data as ’misleading the public’.”

”Additionally, Winston’s office is drafting a letter requesting the FAA to ’clarify data,’ which is essentially pressure to modify how the public database is presented.”

Alex smiled. His opponent finally couldn’t sit still.

When power begins to rush to cover things up, it usually means—you’ve hit upon the truth.
