I Can See Experience Points

Chapter 27: Chapter 26: Fiend, Eat My Blazing Hammer

The night passed peacefully.

He Xiaotian was speechless before his mom’s strange gaze.

Instead of coming home, he had gone to sleep at his cousin’s place.

Anyone would find that awkward and suspicious.

’But Mom, can you please not look at me like that?’

’I’m desperate too!’

’Who knew my luck would be so bad lately, always running into all sorts of strange things.’

’It’s not like I can just tell you our house is probably haunted, can I?’

Enduring his mom’s ”I’m-looking-at-a-moron” stare, He Xiaotian went downstairs, got in his car, and drove back to Pearl Garden.

Opening the security door, he was greeted by the sight of water stains all over the house.

The master bedroom, in particular, was soaked.

As expected, there was still some unknown viscous slime left on the floor.

The entire house reeked of a fishy, river-like smell.

”Whew!”

He let out a long sigh of relief. Thankfully, the thing was only active inside the house and wasn’t specifically targeting people.

It seemed tonight would be the showdown.

After cleaning the house, He Xiaotian went to his room and brought out two large iron hammers, placing them on the floor.

”I might not be much help to my family with big things, but when it comes to hammering people—or weird, strange things—I’m definitely a pro!” he muttered to himself while watching TV.

He spent the whole day on the sofa, flipping through channels to pass the time.

Before leaving his cousin’s, he had already told his mom:

if he didn’t call her, she was to stay and rest at his cousin’s house and not come back under any circumstances.

Unsure what her son was up to, Wang Mei had nodded in agreement.

At the very least, he had performed admirably the day his father went berserk, showing the air of the man of the house.

So she gave her son her unconditional trust.

Her child had grown up.

Even if she felt He Xiaotian was being very strange.

Gradually, the sky darkened.

He muted the TV to prevent any distractions.

The Inner Strength in his Dantian coiled like a great dragon, ready to be unleashed at a moment’s notice.

It would erupt with a single thought.

’Come on, come on. Let me see what you really are.’

If He Xiaotian were still that laid-back college student from before, he probably would have found a Daoist or called the police to come and exorcise the monster long ago.

But now, with the Experience Points system, his master-level ”Fire-refined Golden Body,” and having hammered a pig to death a couple of days ago...

...his mentality had transformed. He no longer feared evil spirits and monsters.

Perhaps this was the legendary ”skill makes one bold.”

”DRIP!” ”DRIP!”

The sound of dripping water came from the nanny’s room.

At the same time, a foul, fishy stench inevitably seeped out from under the door, stinging the nostrils.

”BOOM!”

He Xiaotian exploded into action, swinging two heavy iron hammers, each weighing at least three hundred pounds, as crimson flames erupted around his body.

He shot forward like a bolt of lightning, smashing through the door and plunging into the room.

’I don’t care what kind of demon you are, eat my hammer first!’

’If you’re not dead after that, then we’ll talk!’

Inside the room, by the window.

A small, drenched figure was looking around, just like a petty thief casing a joint before a crime.

It was short and scrawny, standing less than a meter tall, and it gave off waves of a foul stench.

Its body was covered in green scales and an indescribable slime.

On its head grew a messy patch of dark blue hair.

Its round, glowing eyes were extremely sharp. Its nose was prominent, and in its mouth were four sharp fangs on both the top and bottom, like a vampire from the movies.

Its limbs were incredibly long, like an ape’s.

However, each hand only had four fingers, and they were webbed.

It also seemed to be carrying a shell on its back?

’What the hell is this thing?’

To be honest, He Xiaotian had expected some kind of water ghoul or other evil spirit, but this was completely different from what he’d imagined.

But he didn’t hold back. ’I don’t care what you are!’

’You dare come to my house and run wild? I’ll skin you alive today!’

”BOOM!”

The heavy hammer crashed down from above, viciously smashing into its head.

”CRACK!”

With the sound of something hard shattering, the shell on the monster’s back exploded. The fragments shot out like darts, embedding themselves deep in the walls.

Some wooden furniture and the TV on the wall were instantly pierced through.

”SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK...”

The monster wasn’t dead. It was still alive!

It turned out that in the nick of time, the creature had actually retracted its head into its shell.

Furthermore, He Xiaotian had controlled his strength. After all, he possessed about four tons of Divine Power.

Paired with hammers weighing over three hundred pounds, he would have smashed right through the floor.

He could wreck his own home all he wanted, but his downstairs neighbors couldn’t handle that kind of shock.

If he accidentally killed someone, the loss would far outweigh the gain, wouldn’t it?

And it would also expose him.

”Trying to run? In your dreams!”

He Xiaotian growled as he watched the monster scramble on all fours, practically teleporting to the window.

’You made me worry for two nights and a day, and now you think you can just leave?’

’Do I have no face to lose here?!’

”Die!”

With a WHOOSH, He Xiaotian threw the iron hammer in his right hand.

Wreathed in blazing flames, it struck the monster’s back with a BOOM.

”HISS!”

”SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK!!”

A large amount of green liquid splattered, drenching the wall.

[Ding! You have slain a Kappa and earned 200 Experience Points.]

A line of text flashed in the upper-left corner of his vision.

”A Kappa?”

’Twice the Experience Points of the Butcher. That means it was much stronger.’

Unfortunately for the Kappa, his own current strength was on a completely different level than before.

Even before his power-up, killing the Butcher had been as easy as slaughtering a dog.

So what was a measly little Kappa that wasn’t much stronger than the Butcher?

’Tch. So weak.’

’I can never allow myself to become this weak. Otherwise, the Kappa’s fate tonight will be my future.’

He Xiaotian shook his head, clearing it of stray thoughts, and walked toward the windowsill.

Even a controlled throw with a hammer weighing over three hundred pounds was more than this little squirt could handle.

To sum it up in one word: gruesome.

It was a mangled mess of flesh and blood, no different from a pile of meat paste.

”What on earth drove a Kappa to come to our house? Could it be related to Aunt Yang?” He Xiaotian could only connect it to the missing nanny. Why else would the Kappa show up right after she disappeared, and not a moment sooner or later?

All he had was this one clue that was barely a clue.

But in a sea of people, how was he supposed to find her and get the details?

Snapping back to reality, he looked at the wrecked room and grimaced.

’I should try to avoid fighting at home in the future if I can.’

His berserk fighting style always resulted in a laborious cleanup.

But looking at the shell fragments embedded in the wall, the trashed furniture, and the ruined TV...

...gave He Xiaotian an even bigger headache.

Not only that, but the windowsill was also shattered.

If he so much as touched it lightly, it might turn into a case of falling objects from a high place.

If you could call the third floor a ”high place,” that is.

”Sigh! My life is so hard. I paid out thirty thousand yuan during the day, and now I have to kill monsters at night. The mastermind behind this had better hope I never find them, or I’ll give them a thousand hammer swings.”

”KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!”

Just as he was about to clean up the battlefield, there was a knock at the door.

He Xiaotian crept toward the door, both heavy hammers in hand.

If it was an enemy, he’d give them a big surprise right to the head!
