Deep Space Scavenging, Hand Over Alien Warships at the Beginning

Chapter 205 The Mechanical Pope has broken down: Close the gate, release the Zerg Queen!Mechanical God Domain, Central Cathedral.

There were no bricks or soil here, only flowing data streams and meshing gears. On the surface of the giant planet, countless cooling pipes looked like a forest of steel, frantically spitting white steam into space.

”You mean, he took the sun... away?”

In the center of the great hall, a giant figure ten meters tall, composed of liquid metal and supercomputer cores, was staring fixedly at the messenger kneeling on the ground.

That was the Mechanical Pope, the supreme ruler of this star sector.

But at this moment, the temperature of this ruler’s core processor was soaring, and the cooling vents on top of his head were emitting red light with a ”woo-woo” sound, like a boiling kettle.

”Yes, Your Holiness.”

The Mechanical Priest kneeling on the ground didn’t even dare to raise his head, and the electronic synthesis in his voice was trembling. ”Not only did he take it away, but he also started a live stream. He said it was... it was for environmental protection.”

”Environmental protection?!”

The Pope slammed his hand onto the armrest, and the throne, forged from stellar alloy, was instantly dented with a huge hole.

”He ate my demigod guard ’Jealousy’ as a snack, took the star of the Blazing Sun Star system as a lightbulb, and then called this environmental protection? What kind of bandit logic is this? Even space pirates aren’t this shameless!”

The Pope felt his logic modules were about to short-circuit.

He had sat in this position for three thousand years, seen tyrants who destroyed stars, seen monsters that devoured planets, but had never seen such a bizarre civilization that would scrape even three layers of dirt off the ground.

”Your Holiness, now is not the time to be angry.”

Beside him, a holographic brain suspended in mid-air flickered twice. This was the Papacy’s chief strategist. ”According to the data analysis from the front line, that human from Earth named Lin Yuan possesses an extremely strange energy. He has a natural restraint against mechanical creations.”

”Restraint?”

”Yes. Analysis of the remains of Lord ’Jealousy’ shows that he was directly decomposed and reorganized at the atomic level by some kind of power. In other words...” The strategist’s voice paused. ”The more fleets we send over, the more we are just sending him deliveries. That Earth seems to be able to ’eat’ our ships to evolve.”

The great hall fell into a deathly silence.

Only the buzzing sound of cooling fans spinning frantically.

As a civilization that believed in mechanical ascension, their biggest nightmare was encountering this kind of monster that could chew metal like dry rations. How could this war be fought? If they sent tanks, the other side would complain they weren’t enough to fill their teeth; if they sent warships, the other side would complain the armor was too thick and needed shelling?

”Since machines won’t work...”

A hint of viciousness suddenly flashed in the Pope’s red-flashing electronic eyes, as if he had made an extremely dangerous decision.

He slowly stood up, his massive metal body casting a suffocating shadow.

”Then we will use that thing.”

”Since he is a carbon-based organism, and since he likes to eat... then I will send him a ’buffet’ that he won’t be able to shake off once he touches it.”

The strategist’s brain trembled violently, and the holographic projection almost collapsed. ”Your Holiness! You mean... that? That is taboo! Once released, let alone Earth, even our own border star sectors will be devoured!”

”So what?”

The Pope sneered, his voice devoid of any pity. ”As long as I can kill that Lin Yuan and get that ’key’ back, what does it matter if a few planets of people die? They are all low-level organic lifeforms anyway, just right to be feed for that beast.”

”Follow me. Go to the Zero-Number Confinement Zone.”

The deepest part of the Mechanical God Domain.

There was no light here, no data streams, only thick lead plates and high-intensity energy force fields. The air was filled with a nauseating, fishy sweetness—the scent of decay and fermentation peculiar to living organisms, which was completely out of place with the cold smell of machine oil outside.

In front of a biological gate that was a hundred meters high.

The Pope stopped, waved away all the guards, and alone entered the long string of unlocking codes that had been sealed for a thousand years.

Click— Rumble.

The gate slowly rose.

In the darkness, two lights lit up.

No, those weren’t lights.

They were a pair of narrow, purple eyes filled with tyranny and hunger.

”You finally decided to come... tin can.”

A lazy and hoarse female voice came from the depths of the darkness, carrying a soul-stirring magnetism, yet making one instinctively feel terrified.

Accompanied by the sound of slime dripping, a massive figure slowly slithered out.

Borrowing the faint light penetrating from the gate, one could see that it was an extremely strange hybrid.

The upper body was a human female with a stunningly beautiful face, skin as white as jade, and hair like a waterfall. If you ignored her pair of purple vertical pupils and the slit at the corners of her mouth, she would be a succubus from legend.

However, below her waist, she was connected to a bloated, ugly, giant insect abdomen covered in pitch-black carapace. That insect abdomen was dozens of meters long, covered with constantly squirming ovipositors, and every contraction would expel several basin-sized translucent insect eggs.

The Zerg Queen.

One of the cosmic disasters, the nightmare of all carbon-based civilizations.

”Don’t look at me with those eyes.” The Pope retreated a step in disgust, as if afraid of getting something dirty on him. ”If I had no other choice, I would never set foot in this filthy, hellish place in my life.”

”Hehehe...”

The Queen let out a hair-raising coquettish laugh. She extended a sharp forelimb and lightly scraped the metal floor, making a harsh noise. ”What? Finally encountered a bone you can’t chew? Want to ask sister for help?”

”It’s a transaction.”

The Pope coldly turned on the holographic projection, projecting the images of Lin Yuan and Earth into mid-air.

”This person, and this planet, are yours. In exchange, I will not restrict your ’feeding’ behavior on the way to Earth. There are three star systems on that route, with tens of billions of people—they are all yours.”

The Queen’s originally playful eyes suddenly froze the moment she saw Lin Yuan.

Her huge, bloated body lunged forward, pressing almost against the energy barrier. Her purple pupils contracted violently, greedily staring at the man lying on a beach chair sunbathing in the image.

A drop of crystal-clear saliva even flowed down from her beautiful lips.

”This scent...”

The Queen took a deep breath, as if she could smell the fragrance that made her soul tremble even through the screen.

”titan... God blood... and pure Void Energy...”

”So fragrant... really so fragrant...”

Her voice changed.

It was no longer that lazy teasing, but turned into a crazy roar of a beast seeing top-tier prey.

”He is mine! He is mine!!!”

The Queen slammed into the energy barrier crazily, her beautiful face becoming twisted and ferocious. The ovipositors on her lower body squirmed even more frantically, spewing out massive amounts of mucus and insect eggs.

”I’m starving to death... that metal garbage is so hard to eat... I want to eat meat! I want to eat God blood!”

”Tin can! Hurry up and let me out! I promise you! I will swallow him skin and bones! Not even a scrap left!”

Watching this scene, even though the Pope was of a mechanical body, he felt a chill in his core.

This was the reason he had never dared to release this monster. Biological greed was far more terrifying than program bugs.

But now, he had no choice.

”As you wish.”

The Pope raised his hand and pressed that red button.

Hum—!

The energy barrier that had imprisoned the Queen for a thousand years instantly disappeared.

”Ah—! Freedom! Fresh meat! Slaughter!”

The Queen let out a shriek that could pierce eardrums.

This shriek was not a sound, but a high-frequency psionic wave.

The next second.

A terrifying roar came from deep underground in the Mechanical God Domain.

The earth cracked, and the metal collapsed.

Countless Zerg units that had been in hibernation were awakened.

From the depths of the earth, countless Leviathans and Zerglings crawled out. They were like a black tide, frantically surging out along the exhaust pipes and underground tunnels, instantly obscuring the gray sky above the Mechanical God Domain.

”Children... it’s dinner time.”

The Queen’s massive body slowly rose into the sky. On this planet full of the smell of machine oil, she was like a flower of evil blooming on the ruins.

She looked far away in the direction of the Orion Arm, stuck out her scarlet tongue, and licked her lips.

”Wait for me, my little snack.”

Earth.

Lin Yuan was about to go taste the ”Deep-Fried titan Rice Paddy Fish” that Academician Wang had just developed, when suddenly, he stopped in his tracks.

That feeling came again.

It wasn’t a sense of crisis.

It was a feeling of nausea from being locked onto by an extremely thirsty and greedy gaze.

It was like a meat bun being targeted by a wild dog in heat.

”Boss!”

Alita’s figure instantly appeared in the corridor, her virtual little face pale, pointing at the tactical tablet in her hand. ”Radar... the radar is off the charts! It’s not a single point, it’s a sea! A sea of red!”

”In the direction where the ’Great Xia Remnant’ signal disappeared, a super-large-scale biological reaction has appeared! The magnitude... the magnitude is incalculable! Anyway, the entire radar screen is red!”

”And...” Alita swallowed. ”They are moving extremely fast, using the gravitational slingshot effect to accelerate, and the target... is directed at Earth!”

The Command Center was in an uproar.

Even A Ji, who had just been shouting about robbing the entire universe, felt his legs go weak at this moment as he looked at the red shadow spreading like cancer cells on the screen.

”This... did we poke a bug nest?”

”What are you panicking about.”

Lin Yuan calmly stuffed the skewer of fried fish into his mouth, chewing with a crunch.

He walked to the huge star map and looked at the red tide that was frantically approaching.

Ordinary people would have been scared to pee their pants if they saw this scene.

But in Lin Yuan’s eyes, those weren’t Zerg swarms.

They were walking protein, high-energy biological fuel, and raw materials that could evolve the Earth machine once again.

He had been worrying before that while the physical fitness of the soldiers was improving quickly with titan rice, he always felt it lacked some meat.

And now, the takeout had been delivered to the door.

”Where is Old Man Wang? Tell him to put down the test report for me.”

Lin Yuan turned around, his face revealing that iconic smile that made all enemies want to call the police.

”Pass the order down, all leave is canceled.”

”All processing plants in the ecological greenhouses must be converted into food processing assembly lines and biomass energy conversion furnaces for me immediately.”

”Tell the brothers, don’t treat this as a war.”

Lin Yuan pulled out a napkin to wipe his mouth, his eyes flashing with a greenish light.

”We are about to start a feast.”

”Get the ’Truth’ main cannon preheated for me. I want to see if that mother bug’s mouth is harder, or if my cannon barrel is harder.”

”Also...”

Lin Yuan paused, thought of something, and a wicked smile curved on the corner of his mouth.

”A Ji, go send a thank-you letter to that so-called Mechanical Papacy.”

”Just say, thanks to the old buddy for the big yacht... oh no, thanks for the family bucket the old buddy sent.”
