Deep Space Scavenging, Hand Over Alien Warships at the Beginning

Chapter 50 Let’s try a different approach: scientific exploration!Facing the three operational plans on the table, filled with risks and opportunities, Lin Yuan did not immediately give his thoughts as he had before.

After three months of ”devilish tutoring,” he was no longer the scrapyard owner who made decisions based solely on intuition and guts.

He had learned to think, to analyze, and to view problems from a more macro, more scientific perspective.

He looked at the model of the ”giant beast skeleton” that was as massive as a planet, his mind racing.

Plan A was the safest, but the returns were the lowest. And was it really safe? Operating only on the surface meant being exposed in the open space, and once discovered by those mutated ”Void Devourer”s, there would be nowhere to hide. Although the ”ghost” had high stealth capabilities, no one could guarantee it would still be effective against those mutants that fed specifically on biological energy.

Plan B, ”surgical,” sounded nice. But the interior of the ”giant beast skeleton” was a complex, three-dimensional labyrinth with a diameter of 3,000 kilometers. What did ”shortest route” mean? In such a three-dimensional, unknown, ”living labyrinth” that could change at any moment, there was no such thing as an absolute ”shortest route.” Once lost, or intercepted, it was a dead end.

As for Plan C, ”blooming from the center,” that was gambling among gamblers.

Rush directly to the core ”energy core”? Bet that it was the safest place?

This idea was indeed very tempting.

But it was built on a completely baseless guess.

What if the bet was wrong?

What if that ”energy core” was actually the most terrifying trap in the entire corpse?

Then they would be voluntarily sending Lin Yuan into the jaws of death.

”I have a question.” Lin Yuan was silent for a long time before finally speaking.

”Go ahead.” Chen Weiguo gestured.

”Our greatest unknowns regarding this ’giant beast skeleton’ stem from two aspects.” Lin Yuan stood up and pointed at the model. ”First, the ’paths’ inside. We don’t know how to navigate them. Second, the ’monsters’ inside. We don’t know what those ’native predators’ and ’mutated Void Devourer’s are actually like, or what abilities they have.”

”Correct.” The Minister of Intelligence Analysis nodded. ”This is exactly what gave us the biggest headache when formulating the plans.”

”So,” Lin Yuan’s gaze swept over everyone present, ”before deciding which path to take, shouldn’t we first find a way to obtain a ’map’ and a ’monster bestiary’?”

”A map? A monster bestiary?” Academician Wang was stunned. ”But we have nothing right now.”

”No, we do.” A confident smile curled at the corners of Lin Yuan’s mouth.

He sank his consciousness into his mind and began to ”access” that blue ”soul USB drive.”

”ashilya, I need all the research data from your ’Eternal Flower’ civilization regarding ’wandering biological brood nests.’ Especially regarding how to map the internal ’biological energy flow charts,’ and how to distinguish between different ’biological pheromones’.”

As this precise and professional question was posed,

A clear, though not overly massive, stream of information slowly flowed into his brain.

For the ”Eternal Flower” civilization, this knowledge belonged to the relatively obscure category of ”xenobiology,” so Lin Yuan did not find it too burdensome to parse.

A few minutes later, Lin Yuan opened his eyes.

In his eyes, a light called ”wisdom” flickered.

”Academician Wang, experts.” He spoke, his voice full of confidence, ”I think I know what to do.”

He walked to the giant holographic model and began his ”explanation.”

”According to the research of the ’Eternal Flower’ civilization, the internal structure of a biological brood nest like the ’giant beast skeleton,’ while looking like a labyrinth, actually has rules to follow.”

”All of its passages are built around its ’biological energy circulatory system.’ Just like the blood vessels in our human bodies. As long as we can find its ’aorta,’ we can follow the vine to find the ’heart’.”

”And to find the ’aorta,’ we need a ’map.’ This map cannot be drawn using traditional radar or optical scanning. We need to draw a... ’biological energy flow chart’!”

”Simply put, it means using a special scanning method to detect the strength and flow of the residual biological energy inside the corpse, thereby deducing the distribution of its internal ’blood vessels’.”

Lin Yuan’s words made the eyes of all the biologists and physicists present light up.

”This approach is feasible! It’s like using infrared thermal imaging to observe human blood circulation!”

”Then... what do we use to scan?”

”Use the ’ghost’!” Lin Yuan’s tone was decisive. ”Its ’high-dimensional penetration scan,’ after simple modifications, can absolutely be used to detect this biological energy!”

”As for the ’monster bestiary’...” Lin Yuan smiled, ”That’s even simpler.”

”Any living creature, when active, emits a unique ’pheromone.’ Just like how every person has their own unique scent. The ’Eternal Flower’ civilization has already built a massive ’xenobiological pheromone database.’ Although it might not necessarily contain data on the monsters inside the ’giant beast skeleton,’ they have summarized a set of universal ’pheromone threat level assessment rules’!”

”For example, those emitting ’corrosive’ pheromones are usually monsters with acid attacks. Those emitting ’scorching’ pheromones might be fire-elemental. And if a pheromone gives you the feeling of ’chaos,’ ’madness,’ or ’illogic’... then you must be extremely careful.”

Lin Yuan paused, then said a word that made everyone shudder.

”That is very likely the source of ’mental corruption’.”

After hearing Lin Yuan’s well-founded explanation, which was full of the flavor of ”alien black technology,” the entire conference room was silent.

All the experts looked at Lin Yuan with eyes like they were looking at a monster.

This kid... he’s only been studying for three months!

And he’s already managed to go from a ”translator” to a real ”technical expert”?

What he just said, ”biological energy flow chart,” ”pheromone threat level,” these brand-new, era-transcending concepts opened a door for them to a whole new world!

”Good... good!” Academician Wang was the first to react, clapping his hands excitedly. ”Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will never be defeated! Lin Yuan, this approach of yours is more than a level higher than those three plans we had before!”

”We are no longer going to ’gamble,’ but to ’decrypt’! We are turning this operation from an ’adventure’ into a... scientific expedition!”

Chen Weiguo’s face also revealed undisguised approval and pride.

He knew that Lin Yuan, this ”sword,” after three months of ”forging,” had truly been sharpened!

”Then let’s follow Comrade Lin Yuan’s approach!” Chen Weiguo finally made the decision. ”We will not pre-set any final targets! The core mission of this operation is just two words—’exploration’!”

”Step one, use the ’ghost’ to draw us a complete ’energy map’ of the interior of the ’giant beast skeleton’!”

”Step two, based on the map and the analysis of ’pheromones,’ build us a detailed ’monster bestiary’!”

”Once we turn this deadly ’labyrinth’ into our own backyard, then we will discuss whether we should go to the ’hatching nest’ or the ’neural center’!”

”This time, we will firmly grasp the initiative in our own hands!”

”Set off!”
