Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

After the ’Magician’ introduced himself, Lin Yu maintained a calm exterior but was inwardly astonished.

”Someone from the ’Free Alliance’?!”

In other words, this guy was in the same organization as Li Nian?

Moreover, the number of players in the ’Free Alliance’ was extremely limited...

This ’Magician’ Phantom was undoubtedly a top-tier expert.

Adding to that, the previous two introductions of Li Hua and Radish also indicated they were no ordinary characters.

Lin Yu had reason to suspect that all players in this dungeon might have impressive backgrounds.

This was further evidenced by how unfazed the others appeared upon hearing the names Li Hua, Radish, and Phantom.

”I’m just a first-tier rookie who’s only completed three dungeons, truly stumbling into a high-level game by mistake,” Lin Yu mused inwardly.

The next self-introduction from a female player confirmed Lin Yu’s suspicions.

The golden-haired girl leaned back with her hands behind her head, completely disregarding their high altitude as she rocked her chair by propping her feet on the table.

”I was planning to make up an identity, but with Li Hua and Phantom here, lying would be pointless.”

”I’m ’Fish’, ’Fish’ from the ’Marauders’.”

She didn’t mention her class.

Li Hua adjusted his glasses and added: ”’Fish’, deputy head of the ’Marauders’ Beijing branch. Class is... Unique Class, ’Freelancer’.”

”What’s your ability in this dungeon?”

Fish rolled her eyes: ”Why should I tell you? Don’t think just because this dungeon favors cooperation that I have to play nice with you.”

”Refusing to cooperate then,” Li Hua remained unperturbed, merely pushing his glasses up again. ”Pity. That approach reduces your probability of winning.”

Fish spat: ”Says who? How do I know you’re telling the truth?”

Listening to their exchange, Lin Yu felt even more shocked.

A Unique Class?!

This was the first time he’d encountered another Unique Class player in a dungeon besides himself!

From Li Hua’s words, it seemed Fish’s abilities weren’t fixed?

That sounded similar to his own situation!

And ’Fish’ was indeed a renowned expert - Beijing was the headquarters of the ’Marauders’!

Beside Fish, a weathered man in a jacket cleared his throat: ”Ahem— everyone, I know your organizations have history, but no need to argue here.”

”Given that we’re all capable players gathered here for ’cooperation’... plus that octopus earlier mentioned ’gods’ and recognized us as ’players’ from another world, this dungeon’s difficulty must be high.”

”I don’t recommend fighting among ourselves!”

”Call it giving me face— while I’m an independent player without an organization, the codename ’Mosin-Nagant’ should carry some weight, no?”

Lin Yu wasn’t surprised.

This man was another celebrity— a veteran player active on forums, famous for writing beginner guides for all players.

But he was more than just a friendly veteran.

Anyone who’d downloaded the popular ”Hunters’ Association” app knew...

’Mosin-Nagant’ was among the strongest known bounty hunters.

One of the few who’d completed million-level bounties solo.

His class was the relatively rare and combat-capable ’Hunter’.

Radish also mediated with a chuckle: ”Well said. Young people’s tempers are understandable, but we’re all veterans... turning against each other before understanding the dungeon’s situation is unnecessary.”

With these two neutral voices speaking, both Li Hua and Fish backed down from their argument.

Mosin-Nagant gestured to the woman beside him.

She had short hair and wore a dirty white T-shirt with gray sweatpants.

Under everyone’s gaze, she nervously adjusted her collar.

”Uh, hello everyone, I’m ’Robin’...”

”’Robin’ of the ’Night Watchmen’.”

”My class is ’Painter’.”

After this rushed introduction, she fell silent.

Radish’s eyes lit up: ”Robin of the Night Watchmen? Hearing about you pales compared to seeing you!”

”I just had dinner with your colleagues Snowy Owl and Seagull last week! Haha!”

Li Hua also looked relieved.

Lin Yu understood Li Hua’s reaction perfectly.

Of the three previous introductions, two were from the ’Free Alliance’ and ’Marauders’— opposing factions to ’Order’.

While ’Mosin-Nagant’ maintained a friendly forum persona, as a regular bounty hunter, he was dangerous and ungovernable.

Though Radish held high status, Lin Yu had heard the old man wasn’t particularly combat-oriented.

His abilities leaned toward support— even logistical supply.

Having ’Robin’ the ’Painter’ from ’Night Watchmen’ here balanced things out.

Judging by Li Hua and Radish’s reactions, they’d heard of ’Robin’ before.

But Lin Yu hadn’t— making her currently the most mysterious person present.

From Mosin-Nagant, Fish and Phantom’s expressions, they didn’t seem familiar with Robin either.

And ’Robin’ appeared uncomfortable with Radish’s enthusiasm.

Rubbing her pants nervously, she muttered: ”Yes... Snowy Owl and Seagull are nice people...”

”It’s just... um...”

Li Hua noticed her discomfort and coughed: ”Ahem, let’s continue!”

He then looked at Lin Yu beside him.

Seeing Lin Yu’s smile, Li Hua looked visibly uneasy.

”Your turn.”

Lin Yu observed the six other players’ expressions— including ’Fish’ from the Marauders and ’Phantom’ from the Free Alliance— all wore guarded, wary looks.

They unmistakably recognized Lin Yu’s current appearance.

Though before falling, Lin Yu’s fabricated ”false identity” had been merely an audacious experiment.

Yet fate’s coincidence had constructed the perfect stage for this ”role”.

No...

This dungeon, this stage, might itself be the God of Fate’s blessing upon Lin Yu’s nearly reckless actions.

”Fine. Since you all seem to recognize me... for your peace of mind, I’ll introduce myself properly.”

Leaning forward with one hand on the table, he smiled.

”Gentlemen, I am ’Fluoxetine’.”

”’Fluoxetine’ of the ’Psychological Society’.”
