Reborn in the 90s with a Space: Winning Back My Husband

After she spoke, Shen Nian fixed her eyes on Lu Cheng, looking as if she wouldn’t let him off the hook until he gave her a proper answer.

Lu Cheng couldn’t help but chuckle at her expression. He hadn’t planned on keeping it from her anyway, but from the look on her face, you’d think she was afraid he would.

”What’s the hurry? I was planning to tell you anyway. You already know about the Gu family’s situation. Yesterday, Gu Hengzhi went to see Grandpa and asked you to treat members of the Gu family.”

”Ah!”

Shen Nian cried out in surprise. ’Healing! I really hadn’t expected something like this!’

Still, she was a little surprised that someone as proud as Gu Hengzhi would make such a request.

Then again, the rumors did say that Gu Hengzhi was always cold and ruthless toward outsiders, but exceptionally good to his own family. Although Shen Nian didn’t really think Gu Hengzhi was cold and ruthless, she didn’t doubt for a second that he was good to his family.

”What is it?”

”It’s nothing. So, what did Grandpa Chu say?”

”Grandpa didn’t agree, nor did he tell Gu Hengzhi that you were the one who cured his old affliction. He said the decision is up to you.”

”I see!”

Shen Nian nodded. She understood what Grandpa Chu meant and knew this was the Chu Family’s way of protecting her. Otherwise, if the Chu Family wanted to get on good terms with the Gu family, simply presenting her would have been enough to earn the Gu family’s gratitude.

”Nini, what are your thoughts? Rest assured, if you don’t want to, no one can force you.”

Seeing that Shen Nian only nodded and said nothing more, Lu Cheng asked worriedly.

”I’m not unwilling!”

Shen Nian smiled at Lu Cheng. ”The Gu Family are good people. If I can help them, of course I’m willing. It’s just...”

As she spoke, Shen Nian looked toward Lu Cheng.

”If I agree to this, will it cause any trouble for you?”

Shen Nian knew the reason for Mr. Chu’s hesitation. In truth, if this matter were to cause trouble for her, it would, by extension, cause trouble for Lu Cheng and the Chu Family as well.

”It won’t.”

’They weren’t concerned about minor problems. And as for major ones, they had likely already attracted that kind of trouble, with or without this matter.’

”In that case, I have even less reason to hesitate! It’s just... I’m not sure if I can actually cure them. But I want to try.”

She had never met the two members of the Gu family in question, nor had she even heard about their conditions, so she couldn’t claim to be completely confident.

”If you want to do it, then do it. Just do your best; they’ll understand. No matter what, your safety is the most important thing. I won’t let you get hurt trying to save someone else, understand?”

Lu Cheng still remembered how Shen Nian had fainted after treating his grandfather for the first time. He never wanted to see something like that happen again.

”Don’t worry, I won’t!”

Of course, Shen Nian knew what he was thinking about. It was just that back then, she hadn’t fully mastered her abilities and lacked experience. That’s why that had happened.

’Now, she certainly wouldn’t be so reckless again.’

Although they had decided on the matter of the Gu family, Lu Cheng had no intention of letting Shen Nian go just yet. They had finally made it to the weekend, and this weekend, Nini was all his!

「Soon, the weekend passed.」

Besides spending the two days with Lu Cheng, Shen Nian also managed to finalize the prescription Minister Zhang needed. A delighted Zhang Yuanjun thanked her profusely, repeatedly promising he would fight to get her the biggest possible reward.
