Reborn in the 90s with a Space: Winning Back My Husband

”Oh, Xinyue, you’re up too?”

Shen Nian turned and saw Lu Xinyue standing in the doorway. In Shen Nian’s memory, Lu Xinyue rarely woke up this early. Plus, it was the weekend, so Lu Xinyue didn’t have to go to school and had even less reason to be an early riser.

”I...”

Lu Xinyue tried to speak, but it was as if something was caught in her throat. The words wouldn’t come out.

Seeing her daughter like this, how could Sun Yufeng not understand!

’Xinyue probably wants to apologize to Shen Nian, but she’s too proud to say it!’

”Xinyue, didn’t you want to apologize to your sister-in-law for yesterday? What are you just standing there for!”

Lu Xinyue had indeed found it hard to speak up, but after Sun Yufeng called her out, she actually felt a sense of relief. She glanced at Shen Nian and walked over.

Shen Nian was a little surprised to hear Sun Yufeng’s words. Based on Lu Xinyue’s previous behavior, even if yesterday’s events had made her realize her mistake, Shen Nian had assumed it would still be a long road before Lu Xinyue would truly accept her.

’Or maybe this so-called apology was forced on her by Father and Mrs. Lu, and not what she really wanted?’

Thinking this, Shen Nian grew curious about what Lu Xinyue would do next.

’Whether it’s voluntary or forced, that’s something you can’t fake.’

While Shen Nian was lost in thought, Lu Xinyue had already walked up and stopped in front of her.

”Um, about yesterday... I was wrong. I shouldn’t have brought Qin Xueling, who has ulterior motives, to our house. And I definitely shouldn’t have joined her in bad-mouthing you. I apologize!”

After speaking, Lu Xinyue even gave Shen Nian a slight bow, completing the apology with a formal gesture.

Shen Nian was genuinely surprised. Lu Xinyue was actually giving her a sincere apology. Even the look in her eyes no longer held the same rejection as before.

’Looked at this way, Qin Xueling’s little scene yesterday actually did some good!’

’If Qin Xueling knew that her antics not only failed to make the Lu Family despise me but actually brought me closer to them, she’d probably die of anger!’

”Xinyue, you’re at an age where you’re not a child anymore, but you’re not quite an adult either. You need to use your own judgment about some things. You should be able to tell what’s right from wrong, and who you can and can’t trust. I didn’t handle things well before either, so it’s normal that you were upset with me. I accept your apology. I hope we can get along well from now on.”

Lu Xinyue was Lu Cheng’s sister, after all, which made her Shen Nian’s sister too. Of course Shen Nian wanted to get along with her. Besides, Lu Xinyue wasn’t a bad person at heart. With a little guidance, who was to say she couldn’t gain a good sister-in-law?

”Okay, I understand. Um, Sister-in-law, I have a small favor to ask?”

When she said ”Sister-in-law,” Lu Xinyue’s voice faltered for a moment, as if it still felt a little awkward. But once she said it, she seemed to relax instantly.

In truth, a title like ”Sister-in-law” is only hard the first time. After that, it comes naturally.

”Oh? What is it?”

Hearing Lu Xinyue actually ask her for something, Shen Nian was both surprised and curious.

”Can I... Can I learn how to cook from you? Your food is really good.”

Lu Xinyue blushed after she said it. After all, she had been so disdainful of Shen Nian before, and now here she was, wanting to learn her skills.

”Of course! I’m about to make something for your brother. You can join me!”

”Okay!”

Hearing Shen Nian agree, Lu Xinyue immediately brightened up, nodding eagerly. Then, as if suddenly remembering something, she looked at Shen Nian and spoke again.

”Oh, right. My brother called home last night, but you’d already gone to your room.”

”What? Lu Cheng called? Why... why didn’t you get me!”

Shen Nian was filled with regret. Why did she have to go back to her room so early! Lu Cheng had been gone for days, and she still had no idea how he was doing!

”...”

The three members of the Lu Family exchanged glances. Given how Shen Nian had been acting yesterday, none of them had dared to go get her.
