Immortality begin with Alchemy Grandmaster

Chapter 2640: Chapter 974

Time passed slowly.

On this Soulbreak Cliff, devoid of any sign of life and without a trace of Spirit Qi, Luo Chen calculated the passage of time.

In the fifth year, he split off the Seventh Soul.

In the sixth year, after hundreds of years of arduous cultivation, the ”Soul Cleaving Technique” finally reached Completion Stage. However, he vaguely felt that the perfected ”Soul Cleaving Technique” had some defects. He couldn’t pinpoint where, but he thought it might be related to the missing memories of Han Zhan.

Luo Chen didn’t delve too deeply into this.

He was well aware that this cultivation technique had been marked as an incomplete version by the system from the moment he obtained it.

And because of its high level, it could not be naturally completed just by increasing proficiency.

To complete it, he either had to invest a vast number of Achievement Points or find some auxiliary precious item unknown even to Han Zhan.

”My goal is the Nine Great Divided Souls, to break through the restrictions of the Divine Soul at the Nascent Soul Realm. For now, the ’Soul Cleaving Technique’ is enough!”

When the seventh year came, Luo Chen wasted no time in starting the splitting of the Eighth Soul.

The principle of Refining God in the ”Soul Cleaving Technique” originated from the transformation of quantity into quality. When the Main Soul could no longer be enhanced, it relied on the enhancement of numerous divided souls to drive the overall improvement.

Therefore, the more divided souls, the better.

This was evident from Han Zhan splitting off his Nine Great Divided Souls early on.

If not for Luo Chen being hindered by worldly matters in his early years, he should have reached that stage long ago.

However, now is not too late!

Especially with the abundant soul stones to aid him, it was even more effective than expected.

If Han Zhan were still alive and saw him cultivating the ”Soul Cleaving Technique” like this, his eyes would probably turn red with envy.

This night.

The Main Soul was round and full, the divided souls were full of vitality, and even the Seventh Soul, which was split just last year, had grown to the Middle Stage Nascent Soul level under a year of nurturing by soul stones.

It was time to split the Eighth Soul.

Luo Chen steadied his mind, using the Divine Sense Blade to start cutting the Main Soul.

However, the process that he was used to seemed somewhat unsmooth tonight.

The oppressive pain endured for a very long time before finally subsiding.

In a daze, three days had already passed.

Luo Chen looked pale and mentally exhausted at the newly born Eighth Divided Soul in his Sea of Consciousness.

”How could this be?”

”The further it goes, the harder it becomes, which is different from what is recorded in the cultivation technique.”

”Could it be that this technique must be cultivated in the way Han Zhan did, with the Nine Souls divided as early as possible?”

Luo Chen was puzzled.

He didn’t think the difference between the two would be significant, especially since he had already pushed the proficiency of ”Soul Cleaving Technique” to the Great Perfection Level, it should be even easier to split.

Even if there was a bottleneck, it shouldn’t appear at the Eighth Soul or Ninth Soul.

He couldn’t figure it out!

All Luo Chen could do was absorb wisps of green smoke to recover from his current weakened state.

Suddenly!

Thud...

A dull sound echoed, followed by a continuous rumbling.

The sound was faint but reached deep into the soul, and Luo Chen did not understand why he left the Cave Mansion.

As far as the eye could see, the sky was vast, and the clouds were rolling.

That sea of the Netherworld, with a surging momentum, was rushing outward.

Seeing this scene, a thought subconsciously sprang into Luo Chen’s mind.

”It’s starting to move again!”

Over the years, the Netherworld Sea could be considered relatively calm.

According to Luo Chen’s speculation, it should have been lingering near the Southern Border, hidden in the South Ocean.

And the current commotion was somewhat similar to when he first encountered the Netherworld Sea.

”Where will it drift this time?”

Luo Chen muttered to himself.

However, this muttering gradually became heavy.

His face, already pale from having just split the Eighth Soul, became uncertain and suspicious.

His gaze moved from the Soulbreak Cliff under his feet to the beach full of black stones that seemed almost unchanged, and finally through the vast Netherworld Sea to the distant horizon, his lips pressed tightly.

”Could it be...”

A hypothesis abruptly jumped into his mind!

If the Soulbreak Cliff and even this vast Netherworld Sea were transformed by a top-tier Savage Beast, then where did the countless soul stones come from?

Previously, he thought they were washed ashore by the Netherworld Sea, but later discovered they were washed down from Soulbreak Cliff.

However, amidst the daily washing, the cliff remained uncollapsed, and the soul stone beach showed no signs of diminishing.

Then what about the large number of soul stones he had consumed over these seven years?

”An illusion from nothing? Impossible!”

”There must be an extra source of supply!”

Luo Chen connected all the information related to the Soulbreak Cliff Forbidden Area and came to an astonishing conclusion.

If this entity were truly a Savage Beast, then its favorite food would be the souls of living beings!

Moreover, it’s not just a few individual souls, but the pervasive life souls spread throughout the world.

Wherever there were many, it would automatically drift to and then linger for a long time, slowly absorbing and becoming part of Soulbreak Cliff.

Among the Five Continents of the Mountain Sea World, the Beihai Territory was the most vast, and the Endless Demon Sea had always been filled with combat and slaughter, so Soulbreak Cliff had always remained deep within the Demon Sea.

With the fall of the Yuan Mo Sect, the three big overlords of Beihai fighting each other, and even the Human and Demon War and the Daoist Sect’s invasion of Beihai, the number of souls of the dead increased, causing Soulbreak Cliff to gradually depart from the depths of the Demon Sea and reach the edge of the Human Clan.

That’s how he had accidentally encountered it back then.

As for Soulbreak Cliff coming near the South Ocean close to the Southern Border, it was clearly attracted by the battle at the Gate of Life and Death.

When Youli Divine Monarch ascended, slaying a million cultivations with a single strike, an unimaginable amount of fresh life souls filled the Southern Border Cultivation World, not dispersing for a time.

Therefore, Soulbreak Cliff came.
