Immortality begin with Alchemy Grandmaster

Chapter 2109: Chapter 774-2

As he quietly admired it, Luo Chen did not beat around the bush and directly asked about the current situation in the Eastern Wasteland.

Gu Zuokai did not hesitate and immediately began to elaborate on the situation in the Eastern Wasteland.

”The chaos caused by demons in the Eastern Wasteland has persisted for over a century. The once-glorious Thirty-six Domains are no longer what they used to be.”

”Nowadays, out of the Thirty-six Domains, twelve have completely fallen, and three are suffering from the ravages of war. The various major forces that survived from the front line have gathered at the forefront, using the domains of Mu Residence and Fenghua Palace as the base camp in the Five Domains, forming the Death Placement Army, and using the Three Domains at the front line as the battlefield for a flesh-and-blood tug of war.”

”The Six Realms of the Far East, which you inquired about, have long perished!”

Upon hearing this, Luo Chen’s hand beneath his sleeve involuntarily clenched tightly.

Even though he had already learned from intelligence that the Six Realms of the Far East, closest to the Million Mountains, had fallen, hearing the result firsthand from someone else still caused his heart to tighten.

He asked in a deep voice, ”What is this Death Placement Army you mentioned?”

Gu Zuokai smiled slightly and thoroughly explained the origin of the so-called Death Placement Army to Luo Chen.

The Demon Beasts were formidable, and the various realms and sects were scattered, unable to confront the boundless Demon Beasts head-on.

However, immortal cultivators are not dead; they know how to run, and more importantly, they understand the principle of sacrificing territory to save people, and sacrificing people to preserve territory results in the loss of both.

Hence, once it was determined that they could not stop the Demon Beasts, they would retreat to the rear.

As more fled, it became like a plague of locusts, troubling the great sects in the rear.

According to the history of the Eastern Wasteland, the powers in the rear were actually the ones established earlier, with solid foundations.

They were not inclined to pamper these ”refugees.”

Witnessing the fall of Twelve Domains and the conversion of Three Domains into battlefields, the major forces at the rear simultaneously acted to prevent the refugee cultivators from further retreating.

They ordered them to halt at the front line of the human-demon battlefield.

To this end, they vacated five domains to serve as their wartime base camp.

These Five Domains are Mu Residence where the Mu Family is located, Fenghua District where Fenghua Palace is located, White Crane Domain where White Crane Gate is located, Hundred Beasts Domain where Hundred Beasts Sect is located, and Sword Domain where Ten Thousand Swords Pavilion is located.

They provided territory, resources, and established rules to consolidate this massive idle force into an army of cultivators to resist the Demon Clan.

This is the origin of the Death Placement Army.

Place them in deadly situations to survive!

They must either die on the human-demon battlefield or be suppressed and annihilated by the twenty-one Nascent Soul Ascendant Sects at the rear!

The only way is to turn back and charge forward, clearing the sky and returning to their homeland!

Understanding the origin of the so-called Death Placement Army, Luo Chen felt a fleeting stroke of luck in his heart.

Before the Spirit Beetle disappeared, he knew for sure that Sima Huiniang was alive. If they were smart enough to flee to the rear, there was a chance they could survive.

Perhaps they are within the so-called Death Placement Army.

While Luo Chen held onto hope, he asked, ”With the Eastern Wasteland’s situation so dire, is there no response from the Holy Land?”

”What kind of response?” Gu Zuokai sneered, ”In the Million Mountains, who knows how many Demon Beasts there are. In the early years, engaging in that open war, gradually encroaching upon the Demon Clan’s territory, did manage to conquer many realms, but like those on the current front lines, some smarter, more powerful Demon Beasts fled to the rear. After accumulating strength over thousands of years, they’ve become a formidable force! Now, the Dark Abyss Sect remains inactive, merely stretching the battle lines, expanding the war theater, using the lives of countless sect families and rogue cultivators to probe the depths of the Demon Clan!”

Luo Chen opened his mouth, from his perspective, the perceived inaction of the Holy Land seemed, to his counterpart, to be the East Desolate Holy Land Dark Abyss Sect testing the overall situation.

Yet this strategy, when applied to individuals and small sects, results in devastating destruction!

Of course, if placed in similar circumstances, he might make the same decisions.

In Gu Zuokai’s words, there seemed a disdain for the stratagem of ”open war” and territorial expansion?

Pondering deeply, Luo Chen quickly understood.

The Tianyuan Daoist Sect didn’t drag things on like this!

In the past, they fought a battle to secure Zhongzhou, purging demonic influences, resulting in three thousand years of peaceful prosperity.

The numerous cultivators Luo Chen saw in Zhongzhou, where Golden Core practitioners were as numerous as clouds and Nascent Souls were commonplace, were the bountiful fruits of the Tianyuan Daoist Sect’s establishment in Zhongzhou.

”Of course, the Dark Abyss Sect is not entirely inactive. During this process, they occasionally mobilize Nascent Soul sects and sometimes dispatch disciples to the battlefield to slay demons.”

”At least, from a moral standpoint, they cannot be blamed.”

Gu Zuokai spoke at length, then his expression turned serious.

”In my view, the actions of the Dark Abyss Sect resemble pulling back a fist only to strike harder.”

”One part is retracting the battle lines; the second is mandating the formation of the Death Placement Army. There might be even bigger moves to come!”

Bigger moves?

Luo Chen fell into silence.

This so-called big move likely involves having the survivors counterattack the Demon Clan, with the Dark Abyss Sect also deploying troops to reclaim lost territories.

But in this process, the Death Placement Army will undoubtedly be at the forefront, and the casualties will be immense!

If Hui Niang and the others are truly still alive...

Luo Chen suddenly looked up, ”Is there a teleportation formation within Divine Yuan City?”

Gu Zuokai was taken aback, ”You want to go to the front line?”

Luo Chen nodded.

Gu Zuokai spread his hands, ”Unfortunately, the Tianyuan Business Alliance is not permitted to establish teleportation formations in the Eastern Wasteland. If you wish to go to the Five Domains at the front line, you can only use the East Sun Sect’s teleportation formation. However, during this time, the cost of a single teleportation is quite high. Moreover, in wartime, it’s challenging for ordinary people to gain access...”
