Immortality begin with Alchemy Grandmaster

Chapter 1669: Chapter 614: Lu Mountain Charm Records, Elder Sang Blocks the Way

The business that Lu Shanjun mentioned was not complicated.

This year, she deliberately sought out information about Luo Chen’s recent circumstances through her connections in Longyuan Immortal City.

She learned that although the other party was a rogue cultivator and hadn’t established any force, he still commanded a Foundation Establishment family under his banner.

That Foundation Establishment family was obscure in reputation initially, but relying on the name of Demon King Qingyang, it had grown more prosperous over the years. Whether it be the family’s own industries or the Qingyang Store in Longyuan Immortal City, both had gradually fallen into place.

Especially after Demon King Qingyang’s defeat by Huangfu Song, the number of rogue cultivators visiting Qingyang Store for shopping was increasing day by day.

This was why, when Luo Chen mentioned his knack for generating wealth, Lu Shanjun harbored no doubts about it.

Her business plan was to collaborate with Luo Chen and have the talismans she crafted placed for consignment at Qingyang Store.

Lu Shanjun, as a person, didn’t have much of a mysterious background.

Much like Huangfu Song, she hailed from a secular royal dynasty in the North Sea region, and was a princess.

Yet, born with keen intelligence, she loathed the schemes, power struggles, and backstabbing within the royal family. Since childhood, she had taken a liking to reading Daoist scriptures, enraptured by the elegant philosophies of the immortal clans.

Later, in order to escape a forced marriage, she entered a Daoist temple sponsored by the royal family at a young age and became a Daoist priestess.

After entering the temple, she focused her interests primarily on cultivation and the art of talisman-making.

Over time, as the world changed and people faded away, she lost any affection for her royal roots and embarked alone on the long journey of immortal cultivation.

The resources for her cultivation were largely supported by her exceptional talisman-making skills.

Over the years at the Ten Thousand Immortals Gathering, even without forming alliances, she had thrived, which was proof of the high quality of the talismans she traded with fellow cultivators.

But the number of Golden Core cultivators at the Ten Thousand Immortals Gathering was limited.

Particularly when there wasn’t military conflict, the utility of talismans—being consumables—was significantly reduced.

Gradually, her avenues for profit took a major hit.

The Spirit Stones she earned became fewer, and the rent for her Third Order Cave Mansion hung over her like a dagger, forcing even her refined disposition to consider the vulgarity of material wealth.

”For high-order talismans, I already have established trade channels and need not trouble you, Friend.”

”However, after long-term talisman production, I’ve accumulated quite a substantial stockpile of low-order talismans. These could originally be sold to the Demon Hunter Bureau, but their price suppression is too severe, and selling them personally is too cumbersome. That’s why I thought of your Qingyang Store.”

”Of course, I wouldn’t use your manpower for free—your store may take a 20% cut from all talisman sales.”

Twenty percent!

This profit-sharing percentage was indeed quite generous.

It must be noted that Lu Shanjun’s talisman-making involved no help from Qingyang Store, meaning there were no costs on their part.

Hearing this, Luo Chen furrowed his brow in contemplation.

Seeing his prolonged silence, Lu Shanjun’s delicate eyebrows knitted slightly.

”Friend, I’ve shown ample sincerity; don’t be too greedy.”

Unexpectedly, Luo Chen chuckled casually.

”Lu Shanjun, you’ve overthought. It’s not too little; in fact, you’ve offered far too much. In my opinion, a 10% cut is already more than sufficient.”

Lu Shanjun was startled.

Who would turn away benefits that were handed to them?

”However, I do have one condition—or perhaps it’s more of a request!” Luo Chen added with a smile, seeing her confusion. ”Friend, could you entrust some of your Third Order talismans to Qingyang Store for sale as well? The quantity need not be large, but a steady supply of just a few pieces annually would suffice.”

”A few pieces?” Lu Shanjun lowered her head and fell into thought.

Among A Hundred Arts of Immortal Cultivation, aside from the main four—Alchemy, Arrays, Tool Casting, and Talismans—there wasn’t much hierarchical distinction.

And among cultivators proficient in the four arts, pill refiners and array masters ranked ahead of tool casting crafters and talisman makers.

The reason was none other than the high costs of training pill refiners and the heavy reliance on talent for array masters, coupled with the significant impact their products had on cultivators’ individual cultivation and major forces.

In comparison, tool casting crafters and talisman makers were relatively cheaper.

Especially talisman makers—they belonged to the category that was ”easy to learn but hard to master.” In the Immortal Cultivation World, many cultivators even took up talisman-making as a side skill.

This naturally impacted the market for talismans.

But that was only the case for low-order talismans.

The market for high-order talismans, like high-order elixirs and quality magic items, remained perpetually in high demand.

For Lu Shanjun personally, creating a Third Order talisman required quite some effort.

Stably supplying her existing channels while also sparing additional talismans for Qingyang Store would indeed affect her usual cultivation.

However, the impact would be minor.

But if she couldn’t earn enough Spirit Stones, she’d have to bid farewell to the Third Order Cave Mansion at Hidden Dragon Mountain Range.

Didn’t she voluntarily accept a ten-year term of stationing duties just to boost her Demon Hunter Star Rank and secure better discounts?

Lu Shanjun raised her head and looked at Luo Chen. ”Does it have to be high-order talismans?”

Luo Chen nodded. ”It’s best to have them. For that reason, even if the Third Order talismans are sold, I won’t take any commission from their sales.”

Uh...

Lu Shanjun was a little baffled again.

She originally thought Luo Chen’s reduction of commission and request for high-order talismans was targeted at higher profits, but Qingyang Zi outright refused commission from Third Order talismans. What was the intention behind this?

As she pondered deeply, she gradually came to a realization.

”You wish to leverage the fame of my high-order talismans to attract more customers to Qingyang Store, thereby increasing profits from your other smaller ventures, correct?”

Luo Chen clapped his hands in admiration. ”Friend, you are quite adept in the matters of commerce too!”
