Immortality begin with Alchemy Grandmaster

Chapter 1336: Chapter 505: A Letter from Home, War Begins!_2

As he said these words, Luo Chen’s face showed a trace of sadness.

When he set out, he took ten people with him, but in the end, he brought back only two. It was his fault.

Of course, he felt guilty, but others wouldn’t think that way.

At least Xu Huanzhen believed that under those circumstances, the Supreme Elder’s achievements in battle were already a miracle, so how could one demand more?

After chatting for a bit more, Xu Huanzhen planned to take his leave and not disturb Luo Chen’s rest.

Before he left, he presented a letter.

”It’s personally written by the Sect Leader, who instructed me to make sure it reaches you, the Supreme Elder.”

”From Hui Niang?”

Luo Chen murmured to himself as he took the envelope.

”To My Husband”

...

”Your humble wife Hui Niang respectfully bows and sends greetings to my husband:

Recalling our farewell on the snowy ridge, a year passed in the blink of an eye. From the ends of the earth to the remotest corners, I harbor only the years in my thoughts. Deep in the long and solitary paths of the palace, I cannot count the mornings and evenings.

However, Hui manages Luo Tian all on her own, with disciples at her disposal. I’m burdened with numerous tasks and am tasked with making decisions. But you, my husband, are alone outside, depending on others for strategies, with no one to collude with.

At your departure, the Sect was entangled in endless affairs. Yet, a year’s work has already borne fruit.

Ailao, my fellow cultivator, undertook a grand construction: moving three mountains, dredging double rivers, erecting twelve halls—for the use of Luo Tian’s Nine Halls, your main hall, and two halls for general matters...

...”

The first half of the letter, beyond expressing feelings of longing, focused on the changes within the Luo Tian Sect and the situation within the alliance.

Di Wuqi had kept the promise made before Luo Chen’s departure and avoided causing trouble.

The Cen Family changed its previous rash style and began to steadily nurture its clan members. Probably because Cen Qiusheng gained seventy years of life, he no longer panicked and approached the clan’s operations with ease.

On the other hand, there was some disturbance at the Wanxiang Sect.

Many Qi Refinement disciples had already defected or made overtures to Luo Tian Sect, seeking to change allegiance.

Sima Huiniang provided countermeasures for all these situations in the letter.

Luo Chen was very pleased with what he read.

He knew that, although he had gained some understanding of Sect management, he was no longer as clueless as before. But compared to Sima Huiniang, who had been honing these skills over many years, he still fell short.

In just one year, she had organized the internal affairs of the Luo Tian Sect in the Xiao Yue Mountain Range.

Along the way, she also formed closer cooperative relations with several other families.

Feeling content, Luo Chen continued to read.

”Upon hearing your resounding name echo through Thousand Leaves Peak, I was elated. Only when the truth reached my ears did I realize the severity of your injuries, that your life hung by a thread.

Caiyi sent seven urgent messages, her concern overflowing beyond words.

I believe that a great man should not hold grudges too deeply nor seek gratitude excessively. With regards to the matters of the Luo Yun Sect, you have done your best. There is no need to exhaust yourself utterly in service until death.

To act within one’s capabilities is the true path!

However, I am but a woman, not present at the scene, nor privy to the full details, so my words may be inapt.

I only hope that you, my husband, will take care of yourself and return safely.

Luo Tian Sect cannot be without its leader for even a day, and neither Sima nor I can live without you.

Awaiting your return.

—Sima Huiniang”

Hands hanging at his sides, Luo Chen fell silent.

After a long pause, he shook his head and smiled.

”It seems the lady of the house is showing her grace, even involving Caiyi.”

As for the content of the letter, he merely sighed and didn’t dwell on it too much.

Or rather, he had already thought everything through before receiving this letter.

Hui Niang was right.

Some things, one just has to do as much as one can without seeking too much limelight.

Just like the previous battle, upon reflection, there were clearly better ways to handle it.

Using his own extreme speed to lead two Third Order early-stage Wolf Kings away from the main battlefield would have been the optimal solution!

Once in a quiet place, whether to kill or flee, the initiative would be in his hands. All the subsequent events wouldn’t have happened.

As for the Luo Yun Sect being slaughtered by the Wolf Tribe Army, what did it have to do with him?

After all, he was still preoccupied with the grace of Qu Xibai opening the Tian Lan Immortal City Array and helping him achieve success during his Core Formation.

At the time, he simply wanted to exert more effort on the battlefield.

Now, Qu Xibai, my friend, has also fallen.

He had repaid this debt of gratitude.

As for what to do next?

He would be careful and cautious, thinking thrice before acting!

Treasuring the letter, he folded it carefully and placed it deep within his storage ring. Luo Chen planned to begin closed-door cultivation to fully heal his wounds.

But this plan was temporarily interrupted.

Zeng Yilong came knocking.

”I won’t go back!”

Luo Chen looked at him seriously, and the other stood tall, with no intention of bowing his head.

Under Luo Chen’s gaze, he finally could not withstand the pressure and said in a low voice:

”How can I sit comfortably in the rear while my elders battle on the frontline?”

”And... I also want to witness the grandeur of a great decisive battle!”

Luo Chen frowned, ”Where did you hear about a great decisive battle?”

Zeng Yilong replied without hesitation, ”That’s what everyone outside is saying. They claim that Luo Yun Sect does not plan to rest and recuperate, but instead aims to strike decisively at Sky Drum Plain against Ao Xiao Wolf Court to contend for supremacy over Xiao Yue.”

”Moreover, I have also asked Aunt Murong privately, and she indeed revealed some rumors. Saying that the Luo Yun Sect is gathering all disciples and amassing strength, indeed showing a stance ready for a grand fight.”

”Such a magnificent event, perhaps we cultivators will only witness it once in our lifetime.”

”I don’t want to have regrets!”

Luo Chen fell silent.

It was a while before he said softly, ”Then you can stay. I can still protect you alone. But when the time comes, you must follow my commands, understand?”

With that response, Zeng Yilong’s eyes lit up.

”Disciple will remember!”

After sending Zeng Yilong away, Luo Chen turned and stepped out of the Cave Mansion’s main gate, heading for the residence of the Jueqing Fairy.
