Cultivation: I Can Traverse Otherworlds

”Fellow Daoist Sunx, don’t misunderstand.”

Upon hearing this, Fanx Liren’s expression changed drastically. He hastily waved his hands and said,

”We just happened to run into Zhu Ju. We only tolerated his presence for a bit out of consideration for us all being on Yunjing Island. We are not friends.”

”That’s right!” Cui Jin added, nodding.

”If we had known earlier that this Zhu fellow was entangled with the Yann Family and had even killed someone from the Sunx Family, the three of us would have likely attacked him ourselves long ago.”

”Inspector Dong, wouldn’t you agree?”

Dong Ping gave a dry laugh, glanced at Zhu Ju standing alone in the distance, and sighed helplessly.

Things had already come to this.

Even if the three of them didn’t make a move, the Sunx Family still wouldn’t let Zhu Ju go.

That being the case, she certainly wasn’t about to invite trouble. She gave him an apologetic look and slowly took a step back.

In an instant, all eyes were on him, like tigers eyeing their prey.

”Why bother?”

Zhu Ju shrugged.

”You all look weary from your travels, and I doubt the troubles you left behind are resolved. Why come looking for more trouble with me?”

”It won’t matter,” Sunx Tuo said, his expression cold and severe.

”This won’t take much time.”

SHIING!

He raised a single hand, and the greatsword on his back flew out on its own, landing in his grasp.

The greatsword was as wide as a door plank. Its edges were unsharpened, and the dark body of the blade glinted with an arcane light. At first glance, it looked like little more than a flat iron rod.

VMMMM...

As Sunx Tuo gripped the sword with both hands, the air suddenly trembled.

’Something’s not right!’

Zhu Ju’s eye twitched. He felt a terrifying suction force emanating from the greatsword, pulling him forward.

’This power could easily crush a Nine Acupoints Innate expert!’

’The Primordial Magnetic Heavy Sword!’

The heavy sword in Sunx Tuo’s hand was forged from a single block of Primordial Magnetic Profound Iron that weighed over ten thousand pounds.

This Spiritual Material was exceptionally hard, difficult to damage even with a Magical Treasure. Consequently, even after being forged into a Magical Artifact, it couldn’t be sharpened.

Nor did it need one.

Primordial Magnetic Profound Iron could manipulate gravity; the more True Essence a Cultivator poured into it, the stronger the gravitational force they could control.

If Sunx Tuo went all out, he could create a gravitational field out of thin air in a thousand-foot radius, isolating everything within.

This small taste of its power was enough to lift Zhu Ju from the ground, sending him flying toward his opponent like an arrow loosed from a bow.

’No!’

’Something’s wrong!’

’If it were just the pull of Primordial Magnetism, he couldn’t possibly be moving this fast.’

’Is he taking this opportunity to close the distance for melee combat?’

Sunx Tuo raised an eyebrow, a savage grin spreading across his face.

’Courting death!’

Not only was he a Cultivator at the Mid-Stage Dao Foundation, but he was also at the Body Refining Second Realm. The Vajra Ming King Armor he wore was an Exotic Treasure; he wouldn’t fear even a Body Cultivator at the Body Refining Third Realm.

As the thought flashed through his mind, he viciously swung his greatsword, smashing it toward the voluntarily approaching Zhu Ju.

SWISH!

While still in mid-air, Zhu Ju clenched his fist and swung it to meet the descending greatsword. His movement seemed slow and weak, yet it was impossibly fast.

Sword and fist collided in mid-air.

BOOM!

A deafening roar erupted as visible shockwaves swept across the clearing, snapping the surrounding trees.

The two figures were both thrown backward.

They were evenly matched!

Zhu Ju’s seemingly slow and weak fist had unleashed an unimaginable force, sending his opponent flying back with a single blow.

’If that had landed on a person...’

’Even a Dao Foundation Cultivator would be unable to withstand it!’

”What?”

Fanx Liren and Cui Jin were dumbfounded. Dong Ping’s jaw dropped as well, her face a mask of disbelief.

”Body Refining Third Realm!”

Sunx Tuo gritted his teeth, his face contorting into a snarl.

”No!”

”You’re not at the Body Refining Third Realm, but you’re close.”

”It’s only been twenty years since you reached the Dao Foundation, yet you possess such a profound Body Refining Cultivation. It’s inconceivable!”

Zhu Ju just smiled.

He had currently linked with three souls. In theory, this was equivalent to the Body Refining Third Realm, but in practice, he was still somewhat weaker.

After all, he had taken a shortcut and lacked a solid foundation. Still, he was stronger than an ordinary practitioner at the Body Refining Second Realm.

SWISH!

Sunx Tuo’s figure flashed, and he lunged forward again with his greatsword.

”Even so, you will die today!”

The Primordial Magnetic Heavy Sword could not only increase gravity but also weaken it. Weaker gravity meant faster movement.

Therefore, when wielding the greatsword in Combat, Sunx Tuo did not seem clumsy. On the contrary, he was extremely agile.

The constantly shifting gravity, like layered waves of varying Strength, washed over Zhu Ju and caused him to pause for an instant.

”Good!”

”It’s rare to see a Dao Foundation Cultivator who has also achieved Mastery in a Martial Arts Sword Technique.”

Zhu Ju let out a low shout and advanced with the Seven-Star Step, bringing his clenched fists down upon the greatsword like a pair of heavy hammers.

CLANG!

CLANG...!

The two clashed head-on, trading blow for heavy blow, like two enraged beasts tearing each other apart in the forest.

The aftershocks of their Powerful Qi swept through the surrounding rocks and trees, and the very earth trembled unceasingly.

GULP... Cui Jin swallowed hard, a look of lingering fear in his eyes.

”Good thing we didn’t attack him.”

Fanx Liren nodded stiffly.

Indeed.

If the three of them had attacked Zhu Ju, they almost certainly wouldn’t have been his match. Whether they could have escaped with their lives would have been another matter entirely.

A Body Cultivator at the Body Refining Third Realm could withstand a hit from a Top-Grade Spiritual Artifact with their Physical Body alone. Even a sneak attack would be useless.

RUSTLE RUSTLE...

Just then.

A strange noise came from the dense forest behind them, followed by several streaks of light shooting out.

”The Sunx Family?”

”We’ve found you!”

”Why don’t you keep running?”

”Haha...”

Maniacal laughter echoed from the thick fog as figures shot out one after another, and streams of multi-colored light crisscrossed the clearing.

”It’s Tribulation Cultivators!”

”Be careful!”

The expressions of the Sunx Family members changed drastically as they roared in warning.

Dong Ping and her two companions’ expressions shifted as well. They each summoned their Magical Artifacts, their eyes fixed on the Tribulation Cultivators emerging from the fog.

When one particular aura emerged, their hearts suddenly clenched.

’Late-Stage Dao Foundation!’

BOOM!

A current of water, a hundred meters long, rose from the flat ground. It churned with countless droplets, each one weighing dozens of pounds.

As the current pressed down, it carried enough force to topple houses and flatten buildings.
