Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy

Chapter 227  Marked

ʼSo it was like that… Itʼs good that theyʼre also here.ʼ

Alisha nodded as she also wanted to learn more about the Holy Arts. Their presence here would allow her to better identify these spells in the future.

”Very well… Clovis will try to use his Blessed Healing, and please let me know if itʼs a genuine Holy Arts since Iʼm not experienced with this matter.” She replied to the two Untainted Sentinels.

ʼAlright…ʼ

Finally, Clovis was glad he could prove he was a Holy Arts Practitioner.

Without any more hesitation, Clovis placed the glass of water near him and placed both of his hands around the glass.

Soon, his hands started glowing with white light. It was a weak light, but the sacred aura around it was undoubtedly Holy Art!

Teresa and Clare looked at each other. They can no longer deny it. Clovis was indeed a Holy Arts Practitioner!

However, according to Clyde, Clovis had a higher Life Force than people of the same age. It was such an odd thing to happen.

It must be remembered that Clyde was a unique member of the Illustrious Liquidators, and the people in this Order rarely made mistakes regarding this matter.

Unfortunately, Clovis seemed to have used some sort of trick since his current Spiritual Energy and Life Force could no longer be sensed no matter what they tried.

”Too weak… But itʼs really a Blessed Healing… Did a Bishop teach you? Which one of them?”

Teresa and Clare only looked at the glass of water to confirm that Clovis had indeed created a very weak healing water.

It was quite pathetic at their current level, but it didnʼt change the fact that it was real. With this level, Clovis can still be a great figure, especially in small towns or villages of the Kingdom.

”Iʼm sorry… I promised not to reveal it. Itʼs a bit complicated to tell.” Clovis answered.

The two couldnʼt help but wonder how Clovis turned into an unaffiliated Holy Arts Practitioner.

Nevertheless, holding him here was inappropriate since he had committed no crime. He had to leave, and they couldnʼt do anything about it.

After all, they still have to search for the real culprit, and they canʼt stay here for long. They canʼt waste their time investigating an innocent man.

Who knows, this guy might just be on a secret mission similar to what they experienced when they were young.

As Clare was about to tell Alisha to send Clovis away, she suddenly recalled something as she looked at the young man and said, ”Clovis, because of the recent activities around the area, we might need your cooperation regarding some matters.”

”Hmm?”

It wasnʼt just Clovis who was confused as Teresa also glanced at her partner with a curious look. She didnʼt know what Clare was thinking.

Clovis hesitated momentarily, but he still agreed to it.

In any case, he would no longer return here once he left this place. It means the chances of meeting them again would be nearly impossible.

Furthermore, once he returned to the Academy, he would also learn a spell that could help him hide his identity since he has plenty of Spell Lights anyway.

He didnʼt mind using one of them to record a Disguise Spell or something similar.

”Although I donʼt think itʼs necessary, I donʼt mind cooperating…” He replied.

Clare smiled at this as she looked at Teresa.

”Thatʼs great. Teresa, you can mark him using your Divine Sense… That way, we can look for him once we need him.”

As soon as Clare said this, Teresaʼs eyes lit up as she finally understood what Clare was trying to do.

In an instant, Teresa used her Divine Sense to mark Clovis.

On the other hand, the latter was shocked to know that Divine Sense can actually mark people to locate them quickly in the future. He didnʼt even feel how he got marked!

It was such a powerful ability!

Clare smiled after seeing Clovisʼ reaction.

”You looked surprised. I guess your teacher did not tell you... Bishops are only capable of learning the Elementary Realm of the Divine Sense. Only the ones at the level of Cardinal can learn the Intermediate Realm.” Clare explained kindly.

”So it was like that…” Clovis muttered as he felt grateful to this talkative woman.

”What about the Advanced Realm?” Clovis asked curiously.

”Hmm?”

Clare then looked at Clovis with an amused smile before she answered. ” Not even the Pontiff could reach that level. However, I heard that you could permanently mark a person in that realm. Amazing, right?”

Clovisʼ face brightened after hearing this.

ʼSo it means that the mark on me was not permanent?ʼ Clovis nodded at this thought as he thanked the lady.

It didnʼt take that long before Clovis was allowed to leave the police station. It was quite a hassle, but he was happy that he could finally leave.

He didnʼt waste his time as he headed straight to a hotel at the periphery of the city.

At the station, the two Untainted Sentinels watched Clovisʼ disappearing figure.

”Why did you inform him about the Divine Sense?” Teresa asked Clare after Clovis can no longer be seen. It was quite weird that Clare mentioned these things even though she didnʼt have to.

Clare chuckled at this question and answered. ”Nothing, I was just assessing his knowledge. Those things I said were taught in the Academy. However, I noticed he was genuinely unaware, meaning he wasnʼt educated in the Academy. Then, we know that someone outside the Academy taught him the Blessed Healing that only Bishops should know, so I get to minimize the Bishop that couldʼve possibly taught him this.”

Clare paused for a moment to look at her partner before she continued. ”Now that you marked him, it should last for at least a month before it wears off. Itʼs plenty of time to search for that missing Dark Spellcaster, and then we can get back on him and find out his real identity. Arenʼt you curious? Perhaps heʼs undergoing a secret mission. It should be exciting, so we need to observe him!”

Teresa could only shake her head at this but didnʼt mind what her partner was thinking. In any case, this was just a form of entertainment for her.
