Get Stronger by Pleasing Pokémon? Who Needs to Be a Trainer!

In the Kanto region, there is Pallet Town, the place where dreams begin.

At midday, sunlight spilled across the fields. The lush green grass mixed with the fragrance of spring, refreshing and calming to the mind.

”So this is Pallet Town…” Lin Feng let out a soft sigh of amazement.

Countless thoughts once set sail from here, drifting toward different parallel worlds.

But he had never imagined that one day, he would truly come to this world.

And Lin Feng did not come here without reason.

Although he had seen countless scenes of Ash’s journey through Kanto in the anime, the Kanto region itself was not any smaller than the Donghua Alliance region. There were still many places he did not understand.

So he thought of someone: Blue.

He was currently the Gym Leader of Viridian Gym. That was the reason Lin Feng had come here.

Viridian Gym… thinking back, Lin Feng still had some impression of this place. In the past, its Gym Leader was Giovanni.

Later, when Ash challenged Giovanni, Giovanni even deployed Armored Mewtwo. Thinking carefully, it seemed that at that time, Mewtwo in this world had already arrived at that island during the storm, preparing for its own Mewtwo experiment.

This meant that the timeline and events in this world were not exactly the same as the anime.

After that, when Ash went to challenge Viridian Gym again, Giovanni was absent for other reasons, and the challenger ended up facing Team Rocket’s trio instead.

As time went on, the Gym Leader position eventually passed to Blue.

And after Blue left, the next Viridian Gym Leader would be the former Pewter Gym Leader, Brock.

Lin Feng had already checked. The Indigo League had already concluded.

Unexpectedly, Ash did not lose his fighting spirit in the Top 16 like in the original timeline. In that match, Charizard did not lose its will when facing Pikachu, who was called Leon. Instead, Charizard’s journey ended in the Top 8.

Even in the Top 16, Charizard’s battle spirit had been unusually intense. Its blazing flames made many believe Ash might become this year’s champion.

The result was still the same in the end, but Lin Feng could clearly see the difference.

After participating in a battle with Mewtwo, Charizard seemed to have developed a stronger bond and coordination with Ash. Perhaps that was the butterfly effect.

After Blue and Red, the current Indigo League Champion was Lance. Yes, also known as the Dragon Master.

According to Blue, Red could no longer find worthy opponents, so he went to Mount Silver for intense training.

Thinking about it carefully, many regional disasters were actually caused by humans themselves. For example, the earlier rampage of the Legendary Bird Trio had triggered global climate chaos. And Mewtwo’s escape back then also caused the eruption near Cinnabar Island. It seemed conflict between humans and Pokémon was unavoidable.

Lin Feng shook his head and stopped thinking about it.

He continued walking forward along the road, and soon familiar faces appeared in front of him. He knew them, but they did not know him.

So naturally, he did not greet them.

Delia, Ash’s mother, walked out of the house. Professor Oak was sitting at the entrance of his lab eating instant noodles, with two Kingler beside him.

Although they did not recognize Lin Feng, they could not help but glance at the strange young man passing by.

As he walked further, Lin Feng felt slightly dizzy. These people seemed far more approachable than he had imagined.

Just as he was about to leave the laboratory area, a voice suddenly called from behind.

”Hey, hey, hey…”

Oak put down his noodles and stared at the young man in front of him. The more he looked, the more familiar he seemed, so he called out to stop him. After Lin Feng turned around, Oak confirmed it.

”Young Master Lin?”

”Hm?” Lin Feng turned around, slightly startled. Why would Professor Oak know him?

He quickly realized the title must have come from online mentions. And considering Blue’s connection with Professor Oak, it was not surprising that Oak knew of him.

”It really is you.” Oak’s expression carried surprise after confirming Lin Feng’s identity. The Donghua Alliance was quite far from here.

”Hello, Professor Oak.” Lin Feng greeted him with a smile.

Unlike the Donghua Alliance, Professor Oak’s reputation in Kanto, and even beyond Kanto, was extremely well known. It was normal for him to be recognized.

Still, Lin Feng did not intend to linger.

”I came to find Blue. Is he at Viridian Gym?” he asked directly.

”Blue? Yes, he is.” Oak studied him curiously. ”You two are both outstanding young trainers. Are you here to exchange ideas? Shall I call him over?”

”No need. I’ll go myself. I won’t disturb you further.”

Lin Feng waved his hand and walked off, quickly disappearing into the edge of the Viridian Forest.

It was said that Viridian Forest was where Giovanni once obtained Viridian power, but Lin Feng did not feel anything special as he entered. Perhaps due to system rewards, his own Viridian power remained completely stable.

Only Spearow flew through the trees, and Caterpie occasionally appeared in the forest.

Soon, he crossed the forest and arrived at a town ahead.

At that moment, Lin Feng released Mewtwo from its Poké Ball.

Mewtwo took on a human form and looked at the town, slightly stunned.

”I used to be here…”

”You’ve been here before?” Lin Feng interrupted.

”Yes.” Mewtwo recalled that when it was first created, it was here. Giovanni would have it battle different trainers every day.

Back then, it did not understand why the challengers were so weak. Now that it had traveled more widely, it understood those trainers were just beginners starting their journeys. Like that young man in shorts who challenged it a few days ago.

At least, that was what Lin Feng had said.

According to the map, Lin Feng quickly located the landmark of Viridian City.

Viridian Gym.
