National Fortune Golden Shovel: I Can See Hidden Bonds!

3: Chapter 003 S12! The worst season in history?Blitzcrank, Lillia, Nomsy, Seraphine, Soraka...

Honeymancy, Faerie, Dragon, Faerie, Sugarcraft?

The characters on the cards were lifelike, as if dynamic real people were trapped inside. As Shen Mo moved his fingers, they would even accompany him with cheers, surprise, and disappointment.

This... this is S12!?

Shen Mo was a bit dumbfounded!

Although he had already guessed in his heart that this Gods Arena was very likely the chess game he had played in his previous life, when these familiar images truly appeared before him, Shen Mo still felt his breathing grow heavy.

”How could it be S12? It’s actually S12... This season is a total piece of trash!”

With the Fortune trait in S11 being criticized in his previous life.

Everyone thought S12 would be an improvement, but no one expected the bearded designer to drop such a huge turd.

Various major Synergies were so weak they were pathetic.

If it hadn’t been for the emergency buff to the skills of 5-cost units before launch, the 5-cost units would have been roasted to the heavens as well.

More importantly... is Sugarcraft really an entertainment Synergy that a human brain could come up with?

There was even a saying circulating online.

If you say the Sn season is fun, I don’t really agree.

But if you bash Sugarcraft, then we are friends!

...

”Huh, what is Shen Mo still looking at? Why isn’t he picking a unit?”

”Yeah, time is almost up. If he doesn’t pick a unit soon, he definitely won’t be able to beat the monsters later!”

”Could it be that he’s too nervous about being on stage for the first time and forgot to pick a unit?”

Watching the time bar begin to count down.

Netizens within the Dragon Country began to get restless.

...

”Haha, is this the mental fortitude of a Dragon Country contestant? It cracks me up. Go home and find your mommy!”

”This is the first time I’ve seen a contestant not buy a unit when entering the arena. Is he planning to enter the fight himself?”

”Oh, my God, that’s a good idea.”

...

”Old Man Li, what’s the situation?” The square-faced elder, Zhang Zhiwei, looked grave.

He was the person in charge of the nation’s golden spatula battles this time, and also the one who first proposed the theory that ’Wukong’ was powerful, though his theory failed—the Three-Star Wukong lost to the Three-Star Neeko.

”I don’t know either...”

Old Man Li was also a bit dumbfounded now. With his short temper, he hurriedly urged the technician: ”Send a message to Shen Mo, tell him to pick a unit, don’t let other countries make a joke out of us!”

The technician felt like crying at this moment: ”I’ve already sent it, Old Man Li, but Shen Mo doesn’t seem to be looking at his personal backend. All the messages sent earlier are still in an unread state...”

A sudden, ominous premonition struck Old Man Li’s heart.

”Then the ’Three-Star Neeko’ strategy we discussed earlier, he hasn’t seen that either?”

The technician was on the verge of tears and nodded slowly.

It’s over!

Old Man Li only felt the world go black before his eyes, his head spinning!

...

With the familiar feeling from his previous life, Shen Mo quickly entered the zone.

He didn’t notice at all that the time was ticking away bit by bit.

”Such a familiar feeling... Sigh, it’s so good. What should I play this game... How about Syndra? Want to learn about the meta cancer? Hmm, no, no, I still have to check the stats.”

”In case Syndra was heavily nerfed, then there’s no point in playing her, although she’s still very strong... Unless she comes early enough, Syndra still needs to stack layers, and startup items are indispensable.”

”Let’s see what the monsters drop first. A spear of shojin would be nice... Hmm, that’s it, let’s fight the monsters first!”

Having made his decision.

Shen Mo breathed a sigh of relief and turned his gaze toward the arena beneath his feet.

But the next second, he froze.

Wait!

Where are my units?

What about the units given at the start?

Normally, at the start of every game, you would get a 1-cost unit to ensure you could beat the first wave of monsters. But after Shen Mo looked around carefully, he was stunned to find... there were really no units!

Do I have to buy them myself?

Shen Mo lowered his gaze and sure enough, saw an eye-catching... 1 gold coin in the gold bar!

No way?

Shen Mo subconsciously glanced at the time... the countdown, 00:02!

Holy crap!

Shen Mo’s scalp instantly exploded! There was no time to think; his single-for-twenty-years hand speed was pushed to the max!

It was almost in the blink of an eye!

A delicate voice rang out!

”I will dance upon your grave...”

[Faerie - Lillia!]

...

”Phew~ We can see that in the very last second, our Dragon Country contestant finally chose his unit!”

At the commentary desk, the female commentator from Dragon Country breathed a sigh of relief.

The Eagle Country commentator sported a Handlebar Mustache, his eyes sinister and ill-intentioned: ”Although he chose a unit in the last second, I don’t think much of this mentality. Dragon Country probably won’t last until the end.”

The USA foreigner was a Big Baldy, and he chuckled at this moment: ”Haha! Maybe God will look after him?”

Although these words seemed like he was smoothing things over, he was actually cut from the same cloth as that Handlebar Mustache from Eagle Country.

The Dragon Country female commentator’s expression looked a bit unpleasant, and she said firmly: ”Contestant Shen Mo is just not quite used to the rhythm of the arena, but I believe he will get used to it soon!”

”Is that so? Not used to the rhythm, so he couldn’t even pick a unit?”

”Is he blind?”

”Hahaha!!!”

The Dragon Country female commentator was furious: ”You guys...”

...

”Phew, that was close. I finally made it. But why weren’t there any units given at the start?”

Shen Mo breathed a sigh of relief.

But immediately after.

His brows furrowed tightly.

Units given at the start!

He would never misremember this!

But now there clearly weren’t any... Does that mean this Gods Arena is actually different from the golden spatula of his previous life? Then does he still have a chance of winning? The team compositions he memorized before... can they actually be used?!

Shen Mo felt a sudden, terrifying shock in his heart!

The sense of security that the familiarity had brought him instantly dissipated!

His heart was also tightly clutched!

The three rounds of minion fights were quickly finished, and by stage 1-3, all players had reached level 3! The Malphite dropped a total of three items for Shen Mo, which were—[Tear of the Goddess], [Needlessly Large Rod], [Sparring Gloves]!

”Magic items...”

Shen Mo frowned. In this season, there were very few powerful magic-based units in the early game. Attack speed items were the first choice. Syndra could be used, but the problem was she didn’t appear! Moreover, he didn’t have any startup items right now; just crafting a jeweled gauntlet wouldn’t be very useful.

”As expected... there’s no Hextech either! This Gods Arena is problematic!”

Stage 2-1!

After the three Malphite were finished, logically speaking, one should be choosing a Hextech at this moment, but in reality, there was none at all!

The player battles started directly!

”No Hextech, no units given at the start, so there is only one problem now, and that is...” Shen Mo didn’t continue; instead, he moved his gaze to the reroll button on the left side of the match!

The units on the field had already started fighting.

Shen Mo’s opponent was from an unknown small country. At this moment, the opponent had Warwick + Honeymancy Blitzcrank + backline Demon Ashe. Perhaps their luck was good; this guy’s Ashe was even a two-star Ashe!

Shen Mo’s side was quite miserable.

Other than Lillia from the start, there was only a Poppy and Jayce on the field.

Barely forming a [2 Bastion] Synergy.

The situation of the match was not optimistic. The Warwick and Blitzcrank [2 Heavy Armor] had 10% damage reduction, and coupled with the output from the two-star Ashe in the back, Shen Mo’s side was completely crushed.

However, he didn’t care. At this moment, Shen Mo only cared about one problem!

That was...

The S12 Staff! Does it exist or not!

Whoosh!

Reroll!
