I Have the Alchemy Emperor in My Head

Chapter 1266 - 1266 Entering the Eyes of the Higher-Ups

1266 Entering the Eyes of the Higher-Ups

In a secret palace in the capital of the Great Wei Kingdom.

An old man was rapidly processing information from all over the country. This was a skinny old man who had worked in the dark for a long time, which had given him a sinister aura.

His years of experience in handling intelligence allowed him to handle everything quickly. In addition, his subordinates would also classify the information according to type and level of importance. This allowed him to process most of the information quickly.

The old man stretched his back. Although this information was shocking to many people, the secrets of various sects and the secrets of various dignitaries could cause quite a stir if they were exposed.

However, to this old man, these were nothing. After dealing with too many things, he had gotten used to it. He knew that although it was peaceful and boring for him, for the entire empire, being safe and sound was the best news.

!!
Of course, it was not that there were no problems at all. It was just that they could not shake the overall situation of the entire empire.

Suddenly, a series of soft footsteps came from outside the hall.

Immediately after, there was a notification.

“Master, there’s news from Conglong!”

The old man immediately frowned. In the empire, Conglong was indeed an area that needed to be paid attention to. However, most of the news would be reported to the higher-ups in due process. It was rare to see someone cut in line at the last minute.

“Come in,” the old man said lazily.

A middle-sized young man slowly walked in. When he saw the old man, he could not help but feel nervous. Although his own reputation was quite resounding in the entire Imperial Capital and even in the Great Wei Kingdom—and in the eyes of some people, it had the effect of stopping a child from crying—compared to this old man in front of him, it was too far.

Although he was the old man’s confidant, he would still be nervous every time he faced him. This was the lord who had once caused mountains of corpses and seas of blood in the Great Wei Kingdom. Along the way, he had slaughtered countless dignitaries. Many of them even gritted their teeth and called him an executioner behind his back.

“What information could it possibly be that you need to deliver it personally?” The old man looked at the slightly nervous young man and nodded in satisfaction. Although he was old, his reputation was even greater. He was even more ruthless than when he was young.

He was satisfied to see his subordinates show some nervousness. After all, there was no harm in being humble.

“It’s a level eight intelligence report!” the young man quickly said.

His words made the old man’s expression turned serious. In the intelligence system of the Great Wei Kingdom, the lowest level was level 1 intelligence. It was all about trivial matters and basically had no value. It kept increasing to level 9. If such intelligence appeared, it meant that it was basically the destruction of the Great Wei Kingdom or the destruction of the Great Wei imperial family. Only then would it be classified as level 9.

This kind of information might not appear even once in decades. Therefore, level 8 intelligence reports below level 9 were basically the limit that could be seen normally.

But even so, this level 8 intelligence was rarely seen throughout the year. If it was level 8 intelligence, it was worth it for his trusted disciple to come personally.

“What information?” the old man asked with a solemn expression.

The young man placed the stack of information on the table and continued, “This information came from the spies we planted in Marquis Zhongxin’s residence. Among the candidates for the position of heir, there is a person called Chu Yunfan. Recently, he suddenly showed his power and burst out with half-step Core Stage cultivation!”

The young man reported everything concisely. The old man stopped reading the information for a moment. No wonder half-step Cores were classified as level 8 intelligence.

Although level 8 intelligence was not enough to shake an entire country, it was often enough to affect an entire region.

The old man thought about it carefully. He had an excellent memory and soon remembered who Marquis Zhongxin was. After all, there were too many nobles in the Great Wei Kingdom. Unless it was a very famous one, he would have to think about it. He recalled that from the information that had been sent here back then. It did indeed mention that Marquis Zhongxin wanted to select an heir.

However, this may have been a big matter for Marquis Zhongxin’s residence, but to him, it was just a small matter that couldn’t be any smaller. It wasn’t worth paying much attention to. Therefore, he only asked others to continue paying attention to it, while he forgot all about it.

He had thought that the young man was referring to Marquis Zhongxin’s sudden burst of half-step Core Stage cultivation. Although he was a little surprised, it was not a big deal.

Marquis Zhongxin’s household was one of the founding marquis of the country and had existed since its beginning. Although the cultivation of the previous generations of marquis was average, they had such a foundation. It was normal for a half-step Core to suddenly appear.

However, he quickly reacted. It was not the marquis, but a candidate.

This was strange. It was already good enough for a mere heir candidate to have a Divine Abilities Stage cultivation base. How could a half-step Core Stage suddenly appear?

He checked through the information. The first half was about Chu Yunfan not being a suitable candidate. From this information, although Chu Yunfan’s talent was not bad in the branch family, it was just not bad. It was equivalent to the other candidates.

However, it was this Chu Yunfan who suddenly showed a completely different side more than a month ago. Not only did he defeat Chu Yanghui and the others, but he also managed to become a senior alchemist with full marks in front of everyone.

The information also stated that Chu Yunfan had not used his full strength and was highly suspected to have the strength of an alchemy expert. There was even news that he had originally applied to be an alchemy expert, but there were only senior alchemists in Conglong, so he could only take the examination available in that region. However, the intelligence officer was special. From the fact that Chu Yunfan had easily passed the examination for senior alchemists, the probability of him becoming an alchemy expert was very high.

Just the possibility of having the strength of an alchemy expert was enough for their intelligence organization to pay attention to, but it was not enough to be classified as a level 8 intelligence.

The real highlight was yet to come. After that, Chu Yunfan displayed his might and defeated Chang Shenghong, helping the Battle Wolf Gang, the largest gang in Conglong, gain a firm foothold and withstand the counterattack.

After that, he repelled Wan Huang, who had come to cause trouble.

At this point, the old man’s lips curled up slightly. He was already very interested, but when he read that Chu Yunfan had killed the Black and White Emissaries, his pupils contracted ever so slightly.
