I Have the Alchemy Emperor in My Head

Chapter 1188 - 1188 Trouble Arrives

1188 Trouble Arrives

“Since you really want to rent, come in with me, Young Master Chu.” Wang Zhao glanced at Chu Yunfan.

Chu Yunfan followed Wang Zhao into the place. Jin followed behind them but he was scared by Chu Yunfan and didn’t dare to say anything.

When Chu Yunfan entered the shop, he saw that it was extremely messy. All kinds of shelves and cabinets had been toppled over. It was as if a series of fights had just taken place here.

Wang Zhao reluctantly found a clean chair for Chu Yunfan. After he sat down, he said, “Young Master Chu, as you can see, the shop is in a state of disrepair right now.”

!!
“Logically speaking, this shouldn’t be the case. The location is very good. Could it be that the pills you sell were of poor quality and they came to smash up the place?”

Chu Yunfan voiced his speculation. This was not impossible. After all, those mercenaries and monster hunters were all people who licked the blood off their blades. These people had bad tempers and could draw their swords at any time.

Chu Yunfan had seen this kind of scene many times so he wasn’t surprised.

“Of course not,” Wang Zhao said haughtily.

Suddenly, Old Jin interrupted, “Actually, Wang Zhao’s parents were pretty good alchemists in their generation. Later on, they opened this shop. Their business was booming and they made a lot of money. Wang Zhao’s parents even did me a favor in the past so I wanted to help him. I didn’t mean to deceive you, Young Master.”

Chu Yunfan glanced at him and said, “I don’t think you have the guts. Seeing that you’re standing up for your friend, I will let you off this time.”

“Thank you, Young Master Chu! Thank you, Young Master Chu!

“But after this shop passed to Wang Zhao, it changed. It was nothing much at first, but a man named Liu Feng came to this pill street and opened another pill shop. Because this shop is in a very good location, he wanted to buy it. Who knew that Wang Zhao would be stubborn and refuse to sell. As a result, the two sides became enemies. Every three or five days, there would be ruffians coming to find trouble. As time passed, the shop declined.”

Old Jin said with a bitter smile, “Actually, there were people who wanted to rent or buy this place before, but those who came to ask for the price were all chased away. Some of them were even injured. Liu Feng and his men announced to the public that anyone who wanted to buy this place would be going against him.

“Ordinary people can’t afford to offend Liu Feng. He is said to be closely related to the Alchemist Association. But I think you aren’t an ordinary person, Young Master Chu. I’m sure you aren’t afraid!”

Old Jin glanced at Chu Yunfan as he spoke. He was afraid that Chu Yunfan would immediately get angry and turn hostile. That would be terrible. In the end, although he felt that Chu Yunfan couldn’t be tricked, he still tried to trick Chu Yunfan and brought him to this problematic shop.

If it wasn’t for Wang Zhao’s parents’ kindness in his early years, he wouldn’t have taken such a huge risk.

“You sure have good eyesight.” Chu Yunfan sneered.

He finally understood why the shop’s business was terrible despite being in such a good location. It turned out that there was a human factor. If he bought this shop, there was no doubt that he would have to go against Liu Feng.

An ordinary person might not be able to afford to offend Liu Feng, but Chu Yunfan was not afraid of him.

If Liu Feng didn’t come out, then so be it. If he dared to come out, then Chu Yunfan would be sure to teach him a good lesson. However, Old Jin was wrong. Chu Yunfan was confident not because he was the descendant of a big force but purely because he had such strength.

This shop was related to Chu Yunfan’s recovery, and it was also related to the battle between Chu Hongcai and Chu Xiujie a month later. Not to mention, there was also Situ Miaoyi’s birthday present.

It could be said that this matter was of great importance. Whoever dared to disturb him at this time would be courting death.

“Young Master Chu, I’m not trying to trick you. Liu Feng is not easy to deal with. He has a lot of thugs under him. As far as I know, he seems to be in contact with Divines. Even ordinary bigwigs can’t afford to provoke him,” Wang Zhao hesitated for a moment before saying.

Old Jin saw this and was anxious to death. In his eyes, Wang Zhao was too stubborn. Seeing that Chu Yunfan was about to rent the place, Wang Zhao still had to go and say this.

“All right, I’ll follow your recommendation. I’ll take this shop. As for Liu Feng and his men, if they don’t show up, then forget it. If they do, I’ll let them know why blood is red,” Chu Yunfan said as he stood up.

“How much is the monthly rental of this place?”

Wang Zhao nodded and said, “The location of this shop is very good. Although I’m about to close down, that’s my personal problem. It had nothing to do with the shop. If you want to rent it, it’ll be 1,000 low-grade spirit stones a month, Young Master Chu.”

“All right, I’ll rent it for a year first,” Chu Yunfan said. This was a good price.

Although Wang Zhao was stubborn, Chu Yunfan liked to deal with people like him because he wouldn’t play tricks. If it was Old Jin, Chu Yunfan would have to think twice.

“That’s great!” Old Jin said excitedly. He was even happier than if he had rented out his own place.

“All right, I’ll come back tomorrow to do the handover, but you have to clean up properly.” Chu Yunfan gave Wang Zhao twelve thousand low-grade spirit stones for the year.

However, as a precaution, Chu Yunfan left a trace of his primordial spirit on Wang Zhao’s body. If Wang Zhao wanted to run, it would be useless even if he ran to the ends of the earth.

“No problem!” After counting, Wang Zhao felt much more energetic.

“By the way, you don’t have a job now, right?” Chu Yunfan said.

“No, I don’t,” Wang Zhao said, “Previously, I was in charge of the alchemy in the shop. Now that the shop has become like this, I don’t have a job.”

“How about I hire you? I’ll pay you 1,000 low-grade spirit stones a month to be my assistant,” Chu Yunfan proposed. “Are you willing?”

Wang Zhao’s eyes widened. It wasn’t because this treatment was too bad. On the contrary, this treatment was too good. 1,000 low-grade spirit stones were equivalent to the monthly net profit of his shop.

“Of course, I’m willing!” Wang Zhao hurriedly said, his face filled with joy. It seemed that he had really met a benefactor this time.

“All right, I’ll come by tomorrow. Take the day to clean up,” Chu Yunfan said.

Just as he was about to walk out, he saw a tall figure striding in.

“Oh my, there’s actually someone who wants to rent Wang Zhao’s shop. Kid, why don’t you ask around? Nobody dares to rent it unless Master Liu says otherwise.”
