Forty Millenniums of Cultivation

The rising era of the Primeval Clan in the vast sea of stars.

No one knew how enormous the beast was.

No human being, alien species, or asteroids could make it extend all its tentacles, which were full of wrinkles, ravines, suckers, and synapses.

The torso that it used to absorb crystals, digest spiritual energy, and perform four-dimensional space jumps was more than a thousand kilometers in diameter. It was like an enormous planet.

However, it was still in its infancy and expanding rapidly.

For a long time, since the intelligent primate carbon-based creatures named ‘Primeval Beings’ had been living on it, the microbial creatures had indeed considered it a special planet.

For a period of time, they even called it ‘Mother Octopus’. They even established many altars and temples in the ravines and crevices of the starship with the debris and scraps of the starship. They weaved all kinds of unique dancing, singing, and singing songs to praise it, worship it, and pray to it for the hope of their survival, a prosperous home, and everything they wanted.

Of course, it was a long, long time ago. So long ago that most human beings—the Primeval Lord of Heaven—had forgotten the ‘Octopuses’ and the ridiculous dance, the ridiculous prayers, and the humble, bleak, and turbulent years.

It was not the ‘Octopus Mother’ from the beginning, but one of the few tentacles that survived the previous ‘explosion’. It was the new generation that was growing slowly.

But it still retained the memories of the previous ‘Octopuses’ in a way that was too mysterious for the Primeval Lord of Heaven to understand. It also missed the beautiful days when all the Primeval Lords worshipped it and surrounded it, communicating with its brainwaves from the bottom of their hearts. Their brainwaves were like fragrant, colorful flowers, which were the most interesting things it had ever seen in its long life.

Thankfully, its perception of the flow of time was different from the Primeval Lord of Heaven’s. The vivid memories seemed to have happened yesterday. As long as it was willing, it could dwell in the memories and the colorful, swirl-like dreams for ten, a hundred, five hundred, or even a thousand years.

But not now.

Now, he had to listen to Peipei’s story.

Peipei was a very cute girl who liked to laugh. She was short, with curly hair and a nose full of freckles. She liked to step on its wrinkles with her bare feet and laugh like a silver bell.

It was weird to think that way. After all, as a behemoth whose tentacles were more than ten thousand kilometers in diameter, the creatures that lived on it were like probiotics and microorganisms. How could a microorganism be ‘cute’?

However, its species rarely ‘wanted’ anything in the first place. It was already weird enough that it became a space hunter who liked to think. It wouldn’t matter if it came up with weird ideas, would it?

Peipei had arrived.

With its snail-like speed of transmission of information, as well as its coarse and dull senses, it was actually unable to clearly see the small life-like movements of the Yuanshi Clan. The bouncing Peipei was no different than a microorganism floating in water.

However, it could sense the brainwaves of Peipei, who was blossoming like a flower. It reminded it of the supernova outbreak that its mother, or rather, the mother of its mother, had seen several times a long time ago. It was so splendid and beautiful that—in the words of the Primeval Lord of Heaven—it made one’s heart burst with joy.

“Shanuya, Shanuya, do you know what this is?”

Peipei cheered and jumped into the wrinkles of its mind. The girl’s long hair, which had been curled up, stretched out one by one and shone in a regular pattern, piercing into the wrinkles of its mind. Soon, the brainwave synchronization was completed. She waved a white object in her hand and said to it, “This is a flute. It was invented by our ancestors on Earth a long, long time ago. You know what an instrument is, don’t you? Last time I told you, an instrument can play beautiful music that is even better than my stories.

“As for the flute, it is made of the calf bone of a certain spiritual beast that the warriors of the city-state hunted when they went to explore the ‘Tian Lan Planet’. When the flute is played, the wind on the ‘Tian Lan Planet’ can be heard. Boohoo. Boohoo. Nice, right?”

It did not think that the sound of the wind was pleasant.

In fact, it barely heard anything.

As a member of the Void Hunters, it, its mother, and other family members were too enormous to land on the habitable planets with atmospheres.

Without an atmosphere, the howling, moaning, and moaning of the wind were barely audible.

But it could imagine.

When it performed a four-dimensional space jump, there was indeed a special kind of energy that brushed, collided, and surged between its nerves and cells, giving it a weird feeling. It was almost the most comfortable feeling it had ever felt before the Primeval Lord of Heaven settled on it.

“Very nice.”

It lied to the girl and continued, “However, I still prefer to listen to your stories. Peipei, let’s continue with yesterday’s story and tell me the , shall we?”

“Sure!”

Peipei laughed. Then she widened her eyes and said in confusion, “However, Shanuya, don’t you get tired of it? I’ve told you the story three times. Many ‘Dream Makers’ before me have told it to you. You must’ve heard the story of ‘One Thousand and One Nights’ a long time ago before you were born and your mother exploded, haven’t you?”

“That’s different.”

It said, “It’s also the One Thousand and One Nights. I only like listening to you.”

“Why?”

The girl’s eyes were so bright that they seemed to be reflecting the ten thousand stars in the depths of the universe.

“It’s hard to explain.

It thought for a moment and said, “I feel that the previous Dream Makers didn’t like me very much. They were even scared of me. In fact, they didn’t like telling me stories. They were just finishing their work. They were scared to death and hated me to death, but there was nothing they could do. Somebody seemed to be forcing them to tell me stories. Really, I didn’t care about it.

“But you are different, Peipei. You really like telling me stories, don’t you?”

“Of course!”

The girl said with a smile, “I’m born to tell stories to everyone. I especially like to tell stories to Shanuya… Because Daddy, Big Brother, and everyone else in the city-state has endless work to do every day. Mining, shipbuilding, hunting, training. They always say to me, ‘Go away, Peipei. Go to the side and play by yourself’. They don’t want to listen to my stories at all. Only you, Shanuya, are the best. You never say ‘go away’ to me. You are the best listener. I love telling stories to you!”
