God-Level Special Forces Soldier

Xiao Tian finally realized that Lin Bingxuan had indeed mentioned that the little girl would be coming over in a couple of days.

However, he had been busy lately tracking Lin Bingxuan’s multitasking progress and developing Duoduo’s new abilities, so he had temporarily pushed the matter to the back of his mind.

Today, Le Yaoyao was dressed in a white tracksuit paired with pure white sneakers, exuding vitality that naturally brought joy to whoever saw her!

Watching the little girl cheerfully bounding towards him, Xiao Tian got off the swing, opened his arms, and prepared to welcome her with a bear hug.

This had almost become a basic greeting ritual between the two.

But this time, just as the little girl instinctively was about to cling onto Xiao Tian, she hurriedly stopped and asked, ”Uncle, did Aunt tell you what I said?”

Xiao Tian was startled and immediately realized what the little girl was talking about, awkwardly lowering his arms, ”Well, why don’t we head to the mall now? Pick out whatever you like.”

”Uncle, did you forget?” The little girl asked suspiciously.

Xiao Tian touched his nose and whispered, ”I’ve been too busy lately. Besides, it’s not too late to go now!”

The little girl immediately became displeased, ”You’ve been busy swinging in the yard?”

She said, her delicate face showing a deep, sorrowful expression, ”I see you didn’t take my words to heart. I’m leaving. You go on playing with your swing!”

Xiao Tian quickly grabbed the little girl and said anxiously, ”Don’t, don’t, don’t! If you leave, how am I supposed to explain to your aunt?”

Hearing that Xiao Tian’s reason for wanting her to stay was just that, the little girl couldn’t help but get even angrier, ”You don’t care about me at all. Why should I care how you explain it?”

”How could I not care about you?!” Xiao Tian quickly cited examples, ”Think about it, who strongly supported you when you started a company, both funding and helping; and who saved you from dire situations multiple times?”

Before the little girl could rebut, senior citizens out for morning exercise surrounded the villa gates and started discussing.

”Today’s youngsters, having such a pretty girlfriend and still don’t know how to cherish her. What are they thinking all day long?”

”Didn’t you see he’s trying so hard to keep her?”

”If he didn’t make the girl angry, would she leave?”

Listening to the gossiping onlookers, the couple involved in a lovers’ tiff in the yard could no longer stand it and ran into the house.

With his keen hearing, Xiao Tian could still hear the seniors outside starting to discuss again.

”See, I told you it’s all for show. Youngsters nowadays love to create drama, unlike us back in the day!”

”Weren’t you just saying they don’t know how to cherish?”

”Did I say that? Old Li, is your hearing problem acting up again?”

The senior group, seeing there was no more drama to watch, dispersed to continue their strolls and seek excitement elsewhere.

...

Xiao Tian, seeing the little girl still upset, quickly approached her, saying, ”Yaoyao, are you still mad?”

”I’m not mad at all!” Le Yaoyao said as she scooted further to maintain a half-arm’s distance from Xiao Tian.

Considering that he did deceive the little girl earlier and forgot her words, Xiao Tian also felt at a loss, although his deception wasn’t intentional, the fact couldn’t be denied.

After a long silence, the little girl finally spoke, ”So, uncle really doesn’t not care about me?”

Xiao Tian knew this was her giving him a way out, so he quickly came forward sincerely and said, ”Of course, that’s obvious to anyone!”

”Is that so?” Le Yaoyao said, her words not matching her heart, ”I just don’t see it!”

Xiao Tian instantly looked hurt, ”Was my kindness to you for nothing!”

Hearing Xiao Tian’s words, Le Yaoyao cautiously asked, ”Then why are you so good to me?”

”Because you’re my niece!” Xiao Tian immediately replied, ”Isn’t being good to you just natural?”

”Is there...another reason?” Le Yaoyao persistently asked, her face turning crimson as she spoke those few words.

”Another reason?” Xiao Tian pondered and jokingly said, ”Maybe because you’re pretty, kind, innocent, and after all, likeable!”

”Uncle, do you like me?”

Le Yaoyao’s eyes widened in surprise, ”You’re not lying to me, are you?”

”Why would I lie to you?” Xiao Tian patted the little girl’s head, ”Besides, when did I ever lie to you?”

Thinking he might have left a loophole, he quickly added, ”Last time doesn’t count!”

That one sentence stopped Le Yaoyao’s rebuttal about him having just lied to her.

”Let’s pinky swear!”

Xiao Tian looked puzzled, ”Why a pinky swear now?”

”If we don’t pinky swear, it means you’re lying to me again.”

Seeing Le Yaoyao’s insistence, Xiao Tian had no choice but to extend his pinky to make the promise, finally calming the little girl’s anger.

”Oh, I just learned to cook a few dishes. Want to try them?” Le Yaoyao eagerly asked.

Seeing the little girl’s expectant eyes, Xiao Tian, though feeling uneasy, agreed and reminded, ”Remember to add oil first.”

”Uncle, am I that silly?” At the kitchen door, Le Yaoyao turned back, ”I know dishes need oil first!”

She said and went into the kitchen to start working, while Xiao Tian went to the study to get a small medical kit just in case…

As events proved, Xiao Tian really understood the little girl well.

Just ten minutes after Le Yaoyao entered the kitchen, an ear-splitting scream accompanied by the clatter of pots and pans resonated in Xiao Tian’s ears.

Xiao Tian hurried to the kitchen, hearing the oil in the pan crackling, and saw the little girl standing dumbfounded. He quickly pulled her out.

The scalding hot oil crackled with popping noises, splattering occasionally. Xiao Tian hurriedly shut off the stove, turned on the faucet, and placed the burnt pot under the water.

Looking at the little girl crying while holding her red, blistered hand up, tears streamed down her face.

Xiao Tian resignedly set her down on the sofa, then took out burn ointment from the prepared medical kit and pulled out some silver needles he always carried in his pocket.

”Do I have to get a needle?” Le Yaoyao asked tearfully, staring at the silver needles in Xiao Tian’s hand with some fear.

”We have to burst the blister first.”

Xiao Tian replied, holding the little girl’s hand, carefully pricking the blister with the needle, ”Does it hurt?”
