The Most Loving Marriage In History: Master Mu’s Pampered Wife

Xi Xiaye lowered herself slightly as she looked at the little boy in joy. Her eyes glittered as her tone turned soft. “Hello, little guy. Are you one of the children here at the orphanage?”

A warm light gathered in her beautiful eyes. The little boy looked at Xi Xiaye quietly and just nodded.

“Why don’t you play with the other children?”

The little boy did not reply. Instead, an old and kind voice came from behind him. “He’s Xiao Ye. He arrived three months ago. It was midnight and he had blood over him when I found him. He has brain damage and forgot everything when he woke up. I named him Xiao Ye. I tried to help him to locate his family in the past three months, but nothing worked. His parents probably…”

Chief Wang stopped mid-sentence.

“Father!”

Suddenly, an innocent voice rang out. Xi Xiaye looked over and noticed the little boy staring straight at Mu Yuchen.

Mu Yuchen was surprised as well. He looked at the little boy for a moment before squatting down and patting the little boy’s head. “Little kid, I’m not your father.”

The little boy looked confused when he heard Mu Yuchen. There was a tall figure in his mind. Although he could not see his face, he knew that was his father.

This man in front of him looked similar to his father, but he said he was not who he thought he was. The little boy seemed disappointed as he lowered his head and just sat down.

Xi Xiaye felt a little heartbroken. Quickly, she turned to Mu Yuchen and gave him a begging glance. Naturally, Mu Yuchen understood what she meant. He waved at Li Si behind him.

Li Si quickly came over. “Master, what’s the matter?”

“Investigate this child’s background thoroughly. Take him to do a full-body check later. Liaise with Chief Wang on this. If everything goes well, then put this child under my name,” Mu Yuchen gave his instructions.

“Master, do you want to adopt this child?” Li Si looked at Mu Yuchen in surprise. He had heard that Missus wanted to adopt a child, but he did not expect Master to actually allow it. Missus was going to give birth soon anyway. Was there really a need to adopt?

“Go and get this done.” Mu Yuchen then went back.

Xi Xiaye sat beside the little boy, trying to talk to him, “Xiao Ye, are you unhappy here?”

The little boy shook his head, but a moment later, he nodded.

Xi Xiaye smiled. “I’m not quite sure what you mean by shaking your head and then nodding. Do you like the uncle just now?” She looked toward Mu Yuchen.

The little boy did not answer. Instead, he just looked at Mu Yuchen with hope in his eyes, but there was also disappointment.

He had said he was not his father…

“Do you wish that he was your father?” Xi Xiaye asked.

“I do… but he’s not.”

“What if I can make him your father, and then you’ll also have new grandparents and great-grandparents, Xiao Ye? Would you be willing to come with us? Don’t worry. I’m a nice person. I won’t bully you.”

Mu Yuchen and Chief Wang were talking under the tree nearby.

“Chairman Mu, this child isn’t very sociable. I’m afraid…”

“However, this child is smart. I suppose his family raised him well. He knows how to play chess, Chinese chess, and Go chess. Even Teacher Li couldn’t win him over. He writes very well for his age as well, h. His grades for all the subjects are great, but he just doesn’t talk much.”

“Gather his information and hand it to my assistant. I’ll send someone over a week later.”

Mu Yuchen then walked towards Xi Xiaye after ending the conversation.

“This uncle is a kind person as well. His name is Mu Yuchen. You have to remember his name. He might become a close person to you in the future.”

“Then, what’s your name, auntie?”

“Her name is Xi Xiaye.”

Mu Yuchen’s voice reached Xiao Ye after he asked the question. Mu Yuchen squatted down and looked at him before he could react. “Why don’t you play with the other children?”

“Because I don’t know them…”

“How would you get to know them if you don’t interact with them?”

The little boy was not that shy anymore after some time. They talked for quite some time, and he seemed a little disappointed when Mu Yuchen and Xi Xiaye were leaving.

“Xiao Ye? Hey Mr. Mu, don’t you think this child is pretty mature for his age? He’s quite defensive as well. He was looking straight into my eyes when I was talking to him.”

“His family should be pretty well off. At least, his parents could’ve been someone like a teacher. I asked him who taught him to play harmonica, and he told me it was his mother. He’s a smart child.”

“I’ve told Li Si to investigate it. If there are no problems, then you can do as you wish.”

Xi Xiaye nodded as she grabbed his arm and closed in on him. She put her other hand on her belly and said, “Then, let him stay with us for a while first. I’ll bring him back to the Shen residence often in order for him to get used to it. He could be a delightful partner for my grandpa. I think it’s good to learn Grandfather’s way of finding a playmate for our child. It’s nice to have a brother around. One child would be too lonely anyway.”

She could relate to it all too well. This man just wanted one child, so she had to think of something.

“Mr. Mu, why don’t you want to have another child?” she could not help but ask again.

He looked away from the magazine he was reading and kissed her on the lips. “Just being pregnant with one wore you down this much, so I can’t bear to see you suffer again. My parents just gave birth to me, didn’t they? I didn’t marry you because I want you to give birth to my children. The most important thing for you to do is to stay by my side. Everything else is secondary.”
