Chapter 2872: Chapter 2875: The Usage of the Vanguard Army

”So what do you think will be the outcome if I lead the fifty thousand Vanguard Army against the five million Canglan Army without my guidance?”

Jiang Chen asked again.

Si Huang’er was slightly taken aback, frowning lightly with a hint of doubt in her eyes.

Seeing the seriousness in Jiang Chen’s eyes, Si Huang’er began to contemplate.

Dongfang Changkong and the others exchanged glances, all revealing a hint of puzzlement, but they did not interrupt, quietly waiting.

”The Vanguard Army will be annihilated, but the Canglan Army... will lose about twice the number of troops!”

Si Huang’er pondered for a while, then spoke hesitantly.

Jiang Chen nodded, turned his head to glance at Dongfang Changkong and the others, and saw that there was no surprise on their faces.

”It seems everyone is aware, so why is there still such a thought of differentiated treatment?”

Jiang Chen asked the group with confusion.

Everyone was slightly taken aback, Dongfang Changkong asked puzzledly, ”Aware of what?”

”You all...”

Jiang Chen smiled helplessly: ”Combat strength! The Blade Legion has the strongest combat strength, the Vanguard Army second, and the Five Great Continental Legions third. Doesn’t this ranking make you think of anything?”

Upon hearing Jiang Chen’s words, everyone suddenly froze, a look of astonishment appearing in their eyes.

The Five Great Continental Legions are not as good as the Vanguard Army? How is that possible!?

The first thought that popped into everyone’s minds was this, but when they pondered it deeply, they suddenly realized they internally agreed with the viewpoint, otherwise, when Si Huang’er mentioned that the Vanguard Army could inflict twice the losses on the Canglan Army, they wouldn’t have been the least bit surprised.

This...

”His Highness the Second Prince initially set up the Vanguard Army in this way to make the best use of it and to avoid too many losses for the Five Great Continental Legions.”

Seeing everyone jolted awake but still slightly puzzled, Jiang Chen softly explained: ”But because you had the Vanguard Army, you directly used them as cannon fodder while the other legions fought from relatively safe positions!”

”The battlefield should be the best place to hone people, but due to your incorrect usage of the Vanguard Army, it resulted in the soldiers of the Five Great Continental Legions almost as if they had never left the warm greenhouse of the Nether Realm.

Every battle seemed dangerous, but in reality? Most of those who died in each battle were from the Vanguard Army. Were the casualties of the Five Great Continental Legions heavy?”

Jiang Chen glanced at Dongfang Changkong and said in a deep voice: ”Just like in the Second War Zone, we attacked the enemy’s long-range legion, but the Life Origin Legion failed to capture the Sword and Shield Knights without the support of the long-range legion.

How is such combat strength any different from being worthless?

A group of stones without high attack power caused heavy losses for the Life Origin Legion; this... this is utterly ridiculous!”

The group was stunned for a moment, everyone knew about this incident, but in their view, at the time, Jiang Chen was deliberately targeting the Life Origin Legion. However, with Jiang Chen’s analysis, they suddenly realized.

How could the soldiers of the Life Origin Legion have such poor combat strength?

”In the past, you didn’t notice because you put yourselves in their shoes, thinking you yourself would be unable to lead your army to break through the defense of the Sword and Shield Knights without long-range support at that time!”

Jiang Chen eyed everyone indifferently: ”I am angry with Fan Ming’s actions, but I would not retaliate against him by throwing away the lives of the Life Origin Legion’s soldiers.

But I truly did not expect the Life Origin Legion to be so weak!

And you actually think it’s normal for you not to be able to break through? May I ask, are your legions being neglected to such an extent?”

Everyone’s expressions suddenly changed, a pang of fear rose in their hearts.

Our legions... are they that lacking?

”We cannot continue like this any longer!”

Jiang Chen looked at everyone with a solemn expression and continued: ”If this continues, and the Vanguard Army is fully used as cannon fodder, the Five Great Continental Legions will be truly ruined.

We have no other support, if things continue like this, when the Vanguard Army has all perished, think about what kind of fate the Five Great Continental Legions will face?

At that time, will the Five Great Continental Legions be able to withstand the charge of an army of equal numbers?”

Dongfang Changkong and several others trembled violently in their hearts, all breaking into a cold sweat, a look of shock appearing in their eyes.

They had never considered this issue, never thought about what would happen without the Vanguard Army!

In their view, with the Vanguard Army up front blocking, the Five Great Continental Legions go full out, this model was quite adequate.

But now, Jiang Chen’s sudden awakening shocked their hearts and minds!

Indeed!

There are no reinforcements, no endless supply of the Vanguard Army anymore, now that they’re all dead, they’re truly all dead!

”Then what should we do?!”

Si Huang’er urgently looked at Jiang Chen.

”Like the Blade Legion, attack from the front, leave the flanks to the Vanguard Army for protection. This way, it can train the soldiers’ ability to charge, allows soldiers to directly engage with the enemy and face the threat of death, only then can they be honed and enhance their combat strength!”

Jiang Chen spoke gently.

”But... this will result in heavy losses!”

Si Wencheng frowned and spoke.

”Let me ask you, without the Blade Legion, do you think the two million Five Great Continental Coalition can defeat the five million enemy troops?”

Jiang Chen turned to Si Wencheng.

”Impossible to defeat!”

Si Wencheng shook his head resolutely.

”Then with two hundred thousand Blade Legion, do you think there’s a chance to defeat the five million enemy troops?”

Jiang Chen asked again.

Si Wencheng was slightly taken aback, after a brief contemplation, he said softly: ”It’s possible!”

”Two hundred thousand soldiers, through training, through life and death battles, through the most dangerous trials on the battlefield, don’t you think it’s possible to reach the combat strength of two hundred thousand Blade Legion? Or a million soldiers like the Vanguard Army?”

Jiang Chen raised his eyebrows.

Si Wencheng was stunned for a moment and instantly understood.

Dongfang Changkong and the others also understood.

”With a fixed number of troops, it’s crucial to focus on the soldiers’ combat power now!”

Jiang Chen emphasized once more, turned around, and walked towards the entrance of the big tent: ”This is just my suggestion, whether you use it or not is up to you, don’t think to shift accountability to me. If the soldiers of your legions are dissatisfied, let them come to you. If they come to cause me trouble, I’ll kill them.”

Dongfang Changkong and the others had just wanted to smile at the first half of Jiang Chen’s statement, but upon hearing the latter part, they immediately couldn’t smile.

”I don’t want two million, give me two hundred thousand Vanguard Army, add the thirty thousand from before, make it fifty thousand, and commence battle!”

Jiang Chen left the big tent, but his voice remained inside.

”Vanguard Army, cover the flanks, major unit soldiers charge! Stay close to the Blade Legion!”

Wu Tiantong sternly ordered with a low shout.

Dongfang Changkong and several others nodded and quickly walked out of the camp tent.
