Chapter 424: Chapter 424 You’ve Been Fired_1

”An interview? Haha, does my girlfriend, Li Daming, need an interview to get into the company? Are you joking?”

Li Daming laughed heartily, looking at Jiang Chen with a face full of mockery, ”Do you think I’m some small-time security guard like you?”

”Oh, Li Daming, is it? I’ll remember you,” Jiang Chen replied softly.

Li Daming froze, thinking Jiang Chen was about to flatter him and immediately stiffened his back, putting on an expectant look.

However, Jiang Chen didn’t bother with him anymore and walked into the elevator with Su Qingqing.

Left hanging, Li Daming immediately became angry with embarrassment, ”Hmph! Daring to treat me with such an attitude? I think you don’t want your job anymore!”

Li Furong chimed in from the side, ”That’s right, dear, fire him!”

Jiang Chen stood in the elevator with an indifferent look, glanced at Li Daming and his companion, pressed the button for the top floor, and the elevator doors slowly closed.

Pfft!

As soon as the elevator doors had completely shut, Su Qingqing couldn’t hold back any longer and burst into laughter, saying while chuckling, ”Haha, Jiang Chen, be careful, oh, don’t let someone get you fired!”

Jiang Chen gave her a slight smile and rolled his eyes at Su Qingqing.

When the elevator doors opened, Jiang Chen took Su Qingqing to his office.

”Wow! It’s so big!” As soon as she entered, Su Qingqing exclaimed in amazement.

Jiang Chen shrugged, picked up a document from his desk, and sat down on the sofa in the lounge area, ”Wait for a bit, there’s going to be an executive meeting soon. Afterwards, I’ll have someone from HR take you to handle your onboarding.”

After saying this, Jiang Chen opened the document and started reading. The file contained information on all the executives of Sky Venerate City.

”Okay!” Su Qingqing nodded and sat down next to Jiang Chen.

A moment later, a series of knocks came from the door, and Jiang Chen looked up and called out, ”Come in!”

The office door opened, and Fan Jiuzhe walked in, ”Boss, everyone is...”

Fan Jiuzhe had just begun speaking when he noticed Su Qingqing and immediately shut his mouth.

”This is my friend. Is everyone here?” Jiang Chen explained and then asked.

Fan Jiuzhe nodded, ”They’re all here!”

”Good, let’s go!” Jiang Chen called out, and the three of them left the office together.

When they arrived at the door of the large conference room on the 18th floor, Jiang Chen pointed to the internal reception room next to them, ”Qing Qing, wait here for a bit. Someone from HR will come to find you shortly.”

”Okay!” Su Qingqing responded and turned to enter the reception room.

Inside the large conference room at this moment, a discussion regarding Jiang Chen was unfolding.

”What kind of person do you think our boss is?”

”I heard the boss took on the Four Great Aristocratic Families, it won’t be a problem, right?”

”With such a big move to acquire Sky Venerate City, the boss must have his own confidence. The Four Great Aristocratic Families probably can’t do much to the boss!”

The middle and senior executives of Sky Venerate City in the conference room whispered to each other.

Li Daming, sitting in a corner, kept rolling his eyes, thinking the boss is a young man, right? A young person should be easier to handle than those old foxes. As long as I cater to his likes, won’t my position soar? Now, with the restructuring by the chairman, there are quite a few good positions available in the company!

At that moment, the door to the conference room opened, and the entire room fell silent in an instant as everyone looked towards the doorway.

The meeting room, so silent that you could hear a pin drop, was stirred by the sound of leather shoes clicking against the floor as Jiang Chen sauntered in.

”Why is it you? What are you, a security guard, doing here? Get the hell out!” Startled, Li Daming stood up, pointing at Jiang Chen and shouted loudly.

”Security guard?”

”Is that a security guard?”

”What’s he doing here?”

Everyone in the meeting room frowned, as it was Jiang Chen’s first visit to Sky Venerate City, and no one there recognized him!

”Shut up!” A loud voice bellowed, as Fan Jiuzhe’s face twitched. He quickly strode into the meeting room and yelled furiously.

These idiots! Mistaking the boss for a security guard, do they still want their jobs? If they don’t want to work, don’t fucking drag me down with you!

Fan Jiuzhe, with a stern face, swept his gaze around the room and glared fiercely at Li Daming, who had stood up. He gestured towards Jiang Chen: ”This gentleman is our boss, the owner of Yi Chen Investment Company, Mr. Jiang Chen. Let’s give him a round of applause!”

”The boss?!”

”He’s the boss?!”

Clap! Clap! Clap!

The meeting room burst into commotion as people reacted with surprise. Those who were quick on the uptake started clapping immediately, followed by the rest.

Thump!

With a dull thud, Li Daming, dazed, slumped back into his chair, but he missed his seat, landing squarely on the floor with just a corner of the chair to meet him!

”Li Daming!” Fan Jiuzhe growled from deep in his throat, his eyes sparking with fire.

This was the boss’s first visit! The chairman took a break at the boss’s request, leaving me in charge of everything related to the boss’s inspection. And you, you fuck, decide to screw up at this moment? Asshole!

”It’s none of your concern.” Knowing why Li Daming was behaving this way, Jiang Chen chuckled and patted Fan Jiuzhe’s shoulder before he walked over and sat down in the main seat.

Fan Jiuzhe, slightly stunned, gave Jiang Chen a puzzled look and then sat down uneasily next to him.

”Hello everyone, I’m Jiang Chen. Today, I’m here to have a look at our Sky Venerate City and to get acquainted with all of you. There’s nothing else, and you may all go about your business later. However, let me first announce that Li Daming, the deputy head of sales department two, is no longer an employee of this company as of now. You may leave!” Jiang Chen spoke indifferently.

The crowd was momentarily stunned, then they turned to look at Li Daming, some barely concealing their schadenfreude.

Li Daming, oh Li Daming, there are times to make a fool of yourself and this was not one. During the boss’s first visit, you had to display such a spectacle. It’s the perfect time for the boss to make an example out of you for asserting his authority!

And those with a shrewd mind instantly realized something. When Fan Jiuzhe growled earlier, he only mentioned Li Daming’s name but not his department. As a vice-president, he wouldn’t bother to introduce a minor deputy head to the boss in detail, indicating that Li Daming must have offended Mr. Jiang previously. And Li Daming’s earlier shout of ”security guard” confirmed this!

Thump!

Just as Li Daming struggled to his feet, his legs gave out and he fell to the ground again, his face turning ashen: ”No, no, no, you can’t do this, I’ve been a loyal employee here, if not for achievements, then for hard work, what right do you have to fire me...?”

Desperate, Li Daming yelled frantically, trying to salvage his situation.

But his words only brought on near laughter from his colleagues.

Why should he, why would he need a reason? He’s the owner of this place!

”Why? I don’t need a reason, isn’t my word enough?”

Jiang Chen looked coldly at Li Daming, without a hint of sympathy.
