Possessive & Addicted: The CEO Could Never Let Her Go

By lunchtime, Gu Xiaozhan heard Lu Lu mocking Ma Bin.

”Vice Manager Ma, where’s your new employee?”

Ma Bin had been busy and hadn’t noticed the missing employee.

He was curious, where did Mu An go?

Hasn’t come to work and hasn’t requested leave.

”Every employee has their own way of life and work, I never interfere with their freedom,” Ma Bin retorted.

Lu Lu took the opportunity to ridicule him further, ”A leader who can’t even retain new employees isn’t much of a leader, is he?”

Ma Bin’s face turned cold, and he ignored her.

When he sat down, he picked up his phone, ready to send a message to Mu An, but Gu Xiaozhan called him over.

”Mr. Gu...”

”Sit down!”

Gu Xiaozhan put down his chopsticks; he had a private dining room to himself.

The kitchen brought over Ma Bin’s lunch as well, ”Vice Manager Ma, please enjoy.”

”Thank you!” Ma Bin accepted it.

Of course, he didn’t dare eat, ”Mr. Gu, is there something you need?”

”Show me the new employee’s details,” Gu Xiaozhan instructed him.

Ma Bin was somewhat anxious, ”Mr. Gu, it’s my fault for not managing the new employee well. That new employee hasn’t come to work for several days and hasn’t requested leave, I’m not sure what’s going on.”

”No need to worry, I’m not blaming you,” Gu Xiaozhan raised his hand to indicate.

Ma Bin breathed a sigh of relief and asked HR to send over a resume.

”That’s him! A recent graduate, quite enthusiastic,” Ma Bin said.

Gu Xiaozhan looked at the young man in the photo, ”Do you have any work photos of Mu An?”

”No, he never takes photos at our gatherings. And when we work overtime, he often treats us to good food, when the company’s meal expenses aren’t enough, this guy pays out of pocket,” Ma Bin said, a bit puzzled, ”Mr. Gu, is there a problem with him?”

”Tell him to come back to work,” Gu Xiaozhan pointed at the phone number, ”But don’t say I asked for it.”

Ma Bin didn’t understand why, but he obeyed anyway.

He immediately dialed the number; Gu Xiaozhan asked him to turn on the speakerphone.

”What’s going on, kid? Haven’t been to work in days? Didn’t even tell me.”

Mu Anhan didn’t expect her other phone to ring; she thought the R&D department had successfully developed the chip and had already forgotten about Mu An!

”Brother Ma, I’m sorry, I forgot to tell you,” Mu Anhan lowered her voice.

”Don’t do that again, you know our company selects employees very carefully, many people are desperate to get in, and you’re slacking off like this,” Ma Bin reprimanded and then changed his tone, ”Come to work as usual tomorrow.”

”Huh?” Mu Anhan didn’t want to go at all, ”I don’t want to come back.”

Gu Xiaozhan typed a sentence on his phone: [Let the kid come and process the resignation.]

Ma Bin immediately relayed this message, and Mu Anhan agreed.

She also thought about finishing properly, getting her paycheck, and treating Brother Ma and others to a meal!

”Mr. Gu...” After hanging up the phone, Ma Bin was a bit confused. He was told to call him back to work, so why agree to process his resignation?

”Come to my office in an hour,” Gu Xiaozhan would instruct him on the next steps.

Ma Bin nodded, ”Yes!”

”In the meantime, if President Mu or this Mu An gets in touch with you, come find me immediately,” Gu Xiaozhan reminded him.
