Possessive & Addicted: The CEO Could Never Let Her Go

Chapter 846: Chapter 846: Mr. Gu Knows Too

Mu Anhan stopped him: ”Since Captain Huo intended to give it to me, why take it back?”

The Firebird stood in front of her desk, ”That’s true.”

He pondered for a moment, ”Mrs. Gu, is there anything else?”

”I want to ask you, the supporting male character here somewhat resembles Pei Zhe. How did you come up with this?” Mu Anhan looked him straight in the eyes.

The Firebird also looked at her, with a slight sadness in his eyes: ”If I said it was a coincidence, would you believe it?”

Mu Anhan didn’t say anything. After a long while, she finally said, ”You can leave now!”

Whether it was a coincidence or not, the Firebird did not speak the truth.

Why he was concealing it, Mu Anhan wanted to know as well.

The Firebird left with a normal expression, but when he sat in the car, he almost broke down.

He leaned on the steering wheel, unable to hide the sadness in his expression.

If he didn’t show this script to Mu Anhan, would she not think of Pei Zhe?

She could still live happily, with a smile as bright as before she became renowned.

Mu Anhan felt that the Firebird was suspicious.

She immediately went online to search for information about the Firebird.

Official records showed that he was an officer in a special forces unit, later working with the criminal police after retirement.

He had undertaken many difficult missions, had come close to death, protected national interests, and received numerous honors.

Mu Anhan realized she had misjudged—Firebird was actually a retired special forces officer.

He looked refined and handsome, with a hint of melancholy about him.

Isn’t he just like the male lead in a Korean drama?

Mu Anhan shook her head, then quietly snuck into the military system, but their defenses were strict; as soon as she entered, they started tracking her.

Soon, Mu Shaochen sent a message: [Little sister, get out.]

Mu Anhan had no choice but to exit, knowing her third brother had noticed her.

Mu Shaochen sent another message: [Let’s discuss in person.]

He arrived at the set and saw Zhang Shishi still filming, so he walked into the office.

”Little sister, are you investigating the Firebird?” Mu Shaochen asked her.

Mu Shaochen nodded: ”I find his identity somewhat suspicious.”

”Military systems are different from civilian ones, don’t enter recklessly or they might pursue you relentlessly,” Mu Shaochen advised, ”I looked into him for you.”

”What did you find?” Mu Anhan quickly asked.

Mu Shaochen sat on the sofa, ”He’s one of Mr. Lu’s people.”

Mu Anhan remembered Xue Xiangtong once saying that the Firebird had a strong background; it turns out he belonged to Mr. Lu.

No wonder!

”He really has completed many major tasks and has many achievements,” Mu Shaochen said, accepting the teacup she handed over, ”It’s unclear why Mr. Lu would have him retire to work for the criminal police when he could excel in the military.”

Mu Anhan nodded: ”Does Xiao Zhan know him?”

Mu Shaochen hesitated.

Is it possible Gu Xiaozhan doesn’t know about this?

Then surely he also knows what Mr. Lu’s purpose is.

”Little sister, Mr. Gu certainly wouldn’t hide anything from you, but this involves military secrets, so don’t get too hung up on it.” Mu Shaochen reassured her.

”I know, third brother, I won’t hold it against him for this, I know my boundaries.” Mu Anhan laughed, ”You know me, I just have a strong curiosity...”

She changed the subject, ”How have you and Shi Shi been getting along recently?”
