Possessive & Addicted: The CEO Could Never Let Her Go

Chapter 754: Chapter 754: Let Mr. Gu Invest

The male lead is set to be Mu Shaojie, and the female lead will still be played by Zhang Shishi.

However, the public feels there’s a discrepancy between her image and the original work, leading to considerable controversy.

Zhang Shishi wants to act but is also afraid to.

Shao Chen reassured her, ”Actually, no matter who plays the role, there will be a lot of controversy. A thousand people have a thousand Hamlets in their hearts. You can’t dictate others’ tastes, but you can decide your own acting, what visual feast you present to the audience, instead of relying on hyped-up fictional romances for public attention.”

”I understand,” Zhang Shishi also decided she would perform well in this drama and not get tied up in a relationship hype with Mu Shaojie, as it wouldn’t be fair to Shao Chen.

Just when the entire crew was preparing for this, unexpectedly, the investor felt the movie’s prospects weren’t good and withdrew funding.

Since this movie involves a futuristic sci-fi setting with a lot of special effects, requiring huge investments, many investors were unwilling to take the risk.

Chen Yu couldn’t find an investor, and he was at a loss.

In the end, he invited everyone for a meal to conclude this unsuccessful venture.

Mu Anhan, Mu Shaojie, Zhang Shishi, Shao Chen, Xue Xiangtong, and some predetermined supporting actors all attended.

”Everyone, it’s my fault,” Chen Yu raised his glass, ”I really wanted to make you all famous, dazzlingly famous, but I don’t have the ability. This glass, I drink as an apology to all of you...”

”It’s not your fault, Brother Chen, I’m sure there will be opportunities in the future,” Zhang Shishi consoled him.

Shao Chen also said, ”Yeah, who knows, maybe some investors will have the foresight to see its potential!”

Xue Xiangtong said, ”How about crowdfunding?”

Chen Yu laughed, ”How would that work?”

”After I started working, I saved a little money, a few tens of thousands in savings,” Xue Xiangtong immediately said, ”I’ll give it to the crew.”

Since the crew needed some policemen as extras, with whom Xue Xiangtong was familiar, she took the gig for free.

”Third Brother and Sixth Brother can pitch in, and Han Han...”

”I’ll mortgage my house to the bank,” Shao Chen was certainly willing, letting Zhang Shishi make this film.

”No way!” Zhang Shishi immediately objected.

”Don’t look at me, I never save money,” Mu Shaojie coolly looked at everyone.

Chen Yu nodded, ”He’s a non-marriage advocate, so he cut off any girl’s idea of marrying him through money.”

”But what if a girl wants to marry you not because of money?” Xue Xiangtong asked him.

Mu Shaojie laughed, ”If it’s because they found me handsome, even worse!”

Everyone: ”...”

Such thick-skinned confidence!

Chen Yu put down his glass, ”To make this film look good, our initial estimate is an investment of five hundred million...”

This statement left everyone speechless.

”So, everyone shouldn’t consider crowdfunding,” said the attendees, realizing no one could crowdfund a hundred million, let alone five hundred million!

Everyone started drinking, trying to lighten the heavy atmosphere.

After a few rounds, Xue Xiangtong suddenly said, ”I just remembered someone who could invest in this film.”

”Who is it?” Everyone looked at her.

Xue Xiangtong looked over at Mu Anhan, waving her hand, ”Don’t look at me, I don’t have five hundred million either.”

”Of course not you!” Xue Xiangtong playfully said, ”Han Han, but your husband does...”

Everyone thought she was right!

Who is Gu Xiaozhan?

He’s wealthy enough to rival a nation!
