Traveling Back Early: Forcing the Young Empress to Sign a Lifetime Servitude Contract

204: I don’t touch this stuff.Purple Kite puffed out her cheeks and said, ”What kind of Disciple dares to put something in their Revered Master’s mouth? I didn’t hold it against you... doesn’t that already represent how tolerant I am of you?”

Chen Qingxuan stroked his chin;

Looking at Purple Kite’s adorable, pouting appearance, honestly, it was undeniable that she did have a somewhat cute look about her.

”Then what about them?” Chen Qingxuan changed the subject and asked.

Purple Kite’s frown eased, ”They shouldn’t participate in the Hundred States Tournament. We should avoid too many unknown Geniuses appearing at once and causing a sensation. Also, Qian You possesses the Demon Emperor Bloodline and is now Cultivating the Demon Emperor Grand Ceremony I gave her. Some people know I have the Demon Emperor Bloodline. To avoid suspicion and the discovery that I have returned, it’s best if you alone participate in the Hundred States Tournament.”

”I’ll stay with them. No one can harm them. You can just focus on participating in the assembly.”

Purple Kite lifted her little face to indicate.

”...”

Chen Qingxuan looked hesitant and didn’t rush to respond;

”What else are you worried about?”

”I was thinking... you haven’t fully recovered your strength yet... are you even qualified to confront those Immortal groups head-on?”

”Heh!”

Purple Kite sneered, ”You’re overthinking it. Why do you think I became the New God King? Although I underestimated their ambition back then, even now... no one can suppress me. I just want to investigate how many people are involved behind the scenes. That’s why I’m using you to execute the plan, not because I fear them.”

”That’s good then.”

Chen Qingxuan breathed a sigh of relief.

The next moment, he asked with a smile, ”If one day, you return... as the God King, what status would you give me, your Disciple?”

”What status do you want?” Purple Kite’s expression changed, naturally understanding Chen Qingxuan’s intention.

Chen Qingxuan smiled, somewhat embarrassed, and scratched his head, ”I was thinking... after dealing with the mess with the Immortals, you’ll have settled your wish. At that time... would you consider training me to be your successor?”

”You...?”

Purple Kite was dumbfounded;

She had thought the Rebellious Disciple might make an excessive request, but she didn’t expect him to want to replace her.

”Alright.” Purple Kite took a deep breath and nodded, ”When you have the ability, I’ll hand it over to you.”

”With Revered Master’s support behind me, this Disciple will definitely live up to the mission.” Chen Qingxuan solemnly promised, then thought of something else, ”But this Disciple has one more request.”

”Are you done yet?”

”Just one, the last one.”

”Speak!”

”Don’t take on any more Disciples in the future.” Chen Qingxuan calculated, ”After all, if there are too many Disciples, what if they fight with Junior Brothers and Junior Sisters? As Revered Master, you’d be in a difficult position.”

”Heh~”

Purple Kite laughed in anger.

But the next moment, she also said, ”Don’t worry, I will never take on another Disciple in this lifetime, absolutely not!”

”Do you mean that?”

”I mean it. Just the sight of a Disciple... irritates me!”

Purple Kite said through gritted teeth.

Her first time taking a Disciple resulted in someone like Chen Qingxuan. It was hard to have any desire to take on another.

Even with this one Disciple, she wanted to clean house.

After reaching an agreement.

The two emerged from the Void Between Nothingness.

Jiang Susu and Huang Qingxue had long since hidden in the guest rooms of the cloud boat and imprisoned themselves with a simple Barrier.

Only Ji Qianyou was still standing on the deck, waiting for Chen Qingxuan to come out with a hint of eager anticipation.

But when the two emerged, before she could pounce on Chen Qingxuan, Purple Kite grabbed her first, ”What are you still doing here? Go Cultivate!”

”I want to talk to Revered Master...”

”He’s busy!”

Purple Kite forcibly dragged Ji Qianyou into a room on the cloud boat.

Watching her return alone, Chen Qingxuan scratched his head, ”Is that necessary? Qian You and I are completely innocent. Is there a need to guard against her like this?”

”...”

Purple Kite rolled her eyes;

Nowadays, she couldn’t be bothered to argue about such matters. She knew the truth in her heart.

A few days later.

The cloud boat traveled to the Yan Domain.

Purple Kite bid farewell to Chen Qingxuan alone, ”Don’t worry about them being with me. Don’t forget what I told you. Although I’ll protect you from the shadows, try not to force me to take action.”

”Find time to Cultivate the Moon Art. More backup plans mean more chances at life.”

Chen Qingxuan expressed.

After saying that, he flew straight down from the cloud boat, heading towards a cluster of buildings situated atop a mountain peak.

Hoo—

Purple Kite closed her eyes and took a deep breath, smoothing her chest with her small hand, ”Don’t get angry, don’t get angry... you chose this Disciple yourself... as long as he doesn’t hinder the main task.”

... Uncrowned Immortal Temple.

A figure in white arrived like the wind.

Facing the surrounding Barrier, he passed through as if it were nothing, directly arriving in front of the central building of the Uncrowned Immortal Temple.

”Who goes there?”

At the same time, Chen Qingxuan, who hadn’t concealed his aura, was naturally discovered by the powerful figures of the Uncrowned Immortal Temple.

Figures shot into the sky, and in the blink of an eye, they surrounded Chen Qingxuan from all sides.

But they didn’t immediately attack. After all, they weren’t fools. Anyone who could ignore the Temple’s Barrier and barge in was certainly no ordinary person.

Before Chen Qingxuan could speak;

At that moment, a graceful figure rushed forward, ”Young Master Chen?”

Chen Qingxuan looked up;

It was none other than Lin Xia, the Disciple of the newly ascended Immortal Qiu Wenxian, whom he had interacted with a few times before.

”Miss Lin, long time no see!”

Chen Qingxuan spoke with a faint smile.

”Greetings, Young Master Chen.”

Lin Xia was immediately overwhelmed by the favor;

After paying her respects to Chen Qingxuan, she hurriedly said to the surrounding powerful figures, ”Everyone, stand down. This is an honored guest of our Uncrowned Immortal Temple. Do not be rude.”

”Yes!”

The group of powerful figures exchanged glances and hastily retreated.

Immediately after, Lin Xia looked at Chen Qingxuan nervously, ”May I ask... what brings Young Master Chen here today?”

Chen Qingxuan wasn’t in a hurry to respond. Instead, he glanced around, ”Where is your Revered Master? I’d like to speak with him.”

”Huh?”

Lin Xia’s heart tightened fiercely;

The next moment, unable to hide her nervousness, she pursed her lips, ”Could Young Master Chen tell us... if we have done something wrong?”

Although the previous conflict had happened some time ago;

That time hadn’t erased the fear Lin Xia and the Uncrowned Immortal Temple held towards Chen Qingxuan’s terrifying background.

Chen Qingxuan naturally understood her concern, ”Don’t worry, I’m not here to cause trouble.”

”Young Master Chen, please wait a moment. I’ll go inform my Revered Master right away...”

Lin Xia breathed a sigh of relief.

After inviting Chen Qingxuan to take a seat in the main hall, she rushed off without stopping to the Forbidden Ground to find her Revered Master.

At the cave entrance.

Seeing Qiu Wenxian come out, Lin Xia immediately reported the situation.

Upon learning that Chen Qingxuan had come looking for him, Qiu Wenxian immediately felt uneasy. Although he had never met Chen Qingxuan face-to-face, as an Immortal, he knew all too well;

When such figures showed up... they were definitely carrying a mission difficult to accomplish.

If it involved opposing other Immortals, then as a minor character who had just become an Immortal... he probably wouldn’t even have a chance to refuse.

If it implicated the struggles of some faction... not taking sides meant death, taking sides might also mean death.

Thinking of this, Qiu Wenxian immediately took out a token, ”Xia’er, from now on, you are the Abbot of the Uncrowned Immortal Temple.”

”Ah?”

Lin Xia was immediately dumbfounded;

Understanding her Revered Master’s meaning, she hurriedly said, ”Revered Master, Young Master Chen isn’t here to demand an explanation this time. I saw his attitude was very good...”

”Good is good then!” Qiu Wenxian tossed the token to Lin Xia and said, ”Remember not to neglect Young Master Chen. Try to fulfill any request he has. Just say that your Revered Master... your Revered Master has secluded himself in closed-door Cultivation and no longer concerns himself with the affairs of the Uncrowned Immortal Temple. Speaking with you is no different from speaking with me. Don’t disappoint me.”

”Revered Master, I...”

Lin Xia still wanted to say something;

But before she could finish her words, she saw Qiu Wenxian flee back into the cave as if escaping, leaving behind only a string of secret words, ”Xia’er, raise a Disciple for a thousand days, use them for a single moment... A personage like Young Master Chen would not trouble a mere woman like you. Go with peace of mind!”

”?”

Lin Xia stood frozen in place.

A long while later, she finally lowered her head to look at the Immortal Temple token and sighed.

Ever since her Revered Master was promoted to an Immortal, the imagined dominance over the Yan Domain had not materialized. Instead, the Uncrowned Immortal Temple had become increasingly cautious and careful.

Although she had long known that competition among Immortals was especially brutal, far beyond what ordinary Cultivators could imagine, not being in that position herself, she still couldn’t understand her Revered Master’s excessive vigilance.

What’s done is done.

Lin Xia could only put away the token and, with mixed feelings, return to the main hall alone.

Seeing her return alone, Chen Qingxuan raised an eyebrow and asked, ”Where’s your Revered Master?”

”Young Master Chen...”

Lin Xia swallowed hard;

To say she wasn’t nervous would be a lie.

Knowing full well that Chen Qingxuan had come looking for her Revered Master, yet she had failed to bring him. Even if he were to blame her... it wouldn’t seem unexpected.

Meeting Chen Qingxuan’s curious gaze, Lin Xia steeled herself and said, ”In reply, Young Master Chen, my Revered Master... he is wary of your status, truly fearing he might inadvertently displease you... But I am currently managing the Uncrowned Immortal Temple in my Revered Master’s stead. If there is any way we can be of use, please, Young Master Chen, speak freely... We will certainly do our utmost to assist.”

”...”

The corner of Chen Qingxuan’s mouth twitched violently.

Seriously? An Immortal is this cowardly?

Clearly, even in a lowly domain like the Star River Ruins, there were people like Li Erhe who dared to curry favor with him. Yet, upon coming to an Upper Domain... an Immortal-level expert is even more apprehensive?

”Never mind!”

Chen Qingxuan collected his thoughts and looked at Lin Xia. ”Do you know about the Hundred States Tournament?”

”Huh?”

Lin Xia was taken aback at first;

The next moment, she hurriedly nodded. ”Naturally, I’ve heard of it. It’s the most grand ceremony for the top hundred domains, aside from the Immortal Assessment. I participated in it back then. The next one... should be in half a month, right? May I ask why Young Master Chen suddenly mentions the Hundred States Tournament?”

”Oh? You’ve participated?” Chen Qingxuan was somewhat surprised and pressed further, ”Then, what were your results at the time?”

”This...”

Lin Xia’s small face flushed red;

Under Chen Qingxuan’s curious gaze, she dared not hide the truth. ”Although the Yan Domain is among the top hundred domains within the Three Thousand Divine Provinces, it still ranks near the bottom compared to others. A Cultivator with talent like mine, not even considered top-tier within the Yan Domain, naturally... was eliminated in the very first round of such a grand ceremony teeming with Prodigies.”

”Is that so?”

Chen Qingxuan blinked.

Sensing the fluctuations of Qi emanating from Lin Xia, he sighed with feeling. ”Even you didn’t pass the first round. It seems this Hundred States Tournament is even more intense than I imagined!”

Lin Xia looked up in surprise. ”As a descendant of an Immortal, Young Master Chen should be quite familiar with the Hundred States Tournament, right?”

”I haven’t participated yet.”

”What?”

Lin Xia was greatly astonished and guessed, ”Could it be that Young Master Chen... hasn’t yet exceeded the age limit?”

”Yes, so I plan to participate this time.”

”This...”

Lin Xia was stunned.

Although she thought Chen Qingxuan was young, that was relative to the situation of Cultivators in the Three Thousand Divine Provinces. Many Cultivators hundreds or even thousands of years old could maintain such a youthful appearance;

Considering Chen Qingxuan’s strength, she hadn’t expected him to still be within the age limit for participating in the Hundred States Tournament.

For a moment, her heart was filled with a tumult of complex emotions.

Is this what a true Genius is like?

No matter how diligently she Cultivated, her results simply couldn’t be compared to a true Prodigy.

Immediately after, Lin Xia forced out a smile. ”With Young Master Chen’s strength, you will certainly achieve excellent results in the Hundred States Tournament.”

”No need for flattery. I’m currently facing a bit of trouble.” Chen Qingxuan stated frankly. ”I want to participate in the Hundred States Tournament, but I also don’t want to expose my identity. Tell me, what should I do?”

”Hmm?”

Lin Xia’s expression shifted;

Meeting Chen Qingxuan’s inquiring gaze, she confirmed, ”Young Master Chen means... to participate in the Hundred States Tournament... as an ordinary person... without revealing your true background?”

”Yes!”

Chen Qingxuan nodded solemnly and said slowly, ”My original intention in coming to your Uncrowned Immortal Temple was to borrow your name to participate in the Hundred States Tournament, as you do have the qualification to register. But now that your Revered Master won’t show himself... tell me, what should I do?”

”That’s not a conflict!”

Lin Xia thought for a moment and immediately said, ”Since Young Master Chen wants to participate in the Hundred States Tournament as an ordinary person, you shouldn’t be associated with my Revered Master all the more. After all, my Revered Master is, at the very least, a newly ascended Immortal. Though he may be nothing in Young Master Chen’s eyes, he is somewhat well-known in the eyes of outsiders. Since Young Master Chen wants to keep a low profile, you should carry it through to the end.”

”You have a point.”

Chen Qingxuan nodded noncommittally;

The next moment, inspiration struck him as he looked at Lin Xia. ”What do you think about me registering for the competition as your younger brother?”

”Huh? Younger brother?”

Lin Xia was so shocked her peaches trembled.

Seeing that Chen Qingxuan was serious, she felt overwhelmed by the unexpected honor and swallowed hard. ”This servant girl naturally has no objections, but I’m afraid... Young Master Chen’s status is noble. For me to impersonate your elder sister... might be seen as disrespectful by those behind you.”

”You don’t need to worry about that.”

Chen Qingxuan waved his hand. ”If you have no objections, then it’s settled. I’ll owe you a favor. When I become a God King in the future, I’ll appoint you as an Immortal.”

”Ah?”

Hearing this, Lin Xia was so frightened her soul almost left her body.

God King?

Immortal?

At that moment, she felt as if someone had hit her head with a club, unable to believe it.

Chen Qingxuan lowered his voice. ”This matter, you mustn’t tell anyone.”

”I... I wouldn’t dare.”

Lin Xia’s voice trembled.

Such earth-shattering words... she would rather die than tell a second person!

Although she didn’t truly harbor hopes of obtaining such an opportunity, given the circumstances, she naturally wouldn’t refuse to pretend to be Chen Qingxuan’s elder sister.

And so.

Chen Qingxuan didn’t waste words. ”Then let’s go register!”

”Alright!”

Lin Xia nodded repeatedly.

Whoosh—

A mount was summoned.

Not bothering to bid farewell to her Revered Master, Lin Xia took Chen Qingxuan to go register.

Along the way, Lin Xia occasionally glanced at Chen Qingxuan, always feeling a dreamlike sense of unreality.

After all, in her heart, Chen Qingxuan’s status and background were such that even her Immortal Revered Master dared not provoke him, let alone someone she could interact with... Yet now, she was about to impersonate his elder sister.

Besides, Chen Qingxuan didn’t exert any pressure on her; instead, he treated her as an equal... which made it even harder for her to believe.

As her heart gradually calmed, Lin Xia spoke up to ease the atmosphere. ”Young Master Chen, may This servant girl ask you something?”

”Go ahead.”

”For a Prodigy like you... your usual Cultivation must be unimaginable for ordinary people... If you could give me a pointer or two... it would surely benefit me greatly.”

”Hey, I don’t touch that Cultivation stuff.”
