My Youth Began With Him

Huo Mian wanted to speak, but she couldn’t. She reached out to touch Qin Chu’s face, her eyes glancing weakly at him.

The truth was, Qin Chu was scared half-to-death…

He ignored the others around him and immediately performed CPR.

30 seconds later, Huo Mian slowly came back to her senses…

“Why are you here?” Huo Mian asked weakly upon seeing Qin Chu.

“Dr. Huo, thank god your husband came, or else things would’ve been awful. The patient who just came in is suffering from some kind of mental disorder. He went crazy and started hurting people. He almost strangled you to death,” the nurse explained.

Huo Mian recalled what happened and then got up from Qin Chu’s embrace…

She placed her hand on her forehead and swayed as she walked…

Worried, Qin Chu immediately went up to hold her.

“Where’s the patient?” Huo Mian asked.

“Security tied him up, afraid that he might hurt others.”

Huo Mian nodded. “Get a urine sample from him. I don’t think he’s suffering from a mental disorder. If I guessed right, he probably ingested something.”

“Will do, Dr. Huo,” the nurse nodded and then immediately followed Huo Mian’s orders.

Qin Chu helped her sit down on a bench inside the consulting room.

Then, he poured a glass of warm water and handed it to her.

“Thanks,” Huo Mian took the water; she still looked weak and seemed to be recovering from what happened.

“Since when did you start being so polite?” Qin Chu sighed in relief upon seeing that she was okay.

“Why are you here?” Huo Mian finally took notice; it was so late, why was Qin Chu here?

“If I didn’t come, my wife would’ve been strangled to death…” Qin Chu said furiously.

Huo Mian: “…”

“I’m going to tell Wu Zhongxing to transfer you tomorrow, the neurology department is too dangerous.”

Huo Mian: “…”

“Which department should I go to then?”

“The finance department, why not calculate employee salaries? It’s a good gig,” Qin Chu said in all seriousness.

Huo Mian: “…”

She finally obtained a doctor’s certificate, but Qin Chu just suggested that she should work in the finance department and be an accountant. Was he crazy…?

Before Huo Mian had the chance to speak, the nurse knocked and came in.

“Dr. Huo, the results are in. The urine test came out positive for drugs.”

“Call the police, he should be arrested,” Huo Mian suspected that the patient ate something; that’s why he was being so abnormal.

He wasn’t suffering from mental disorders nor epilepsy. People like him were a threat to society.

“What do you think about my suggestion?”

“What suggestion?”

“The finance department.” Qin Chu refused to settle. For the first time in his life, he realized how dangerous being a doctor was.

If he came a little later, then the consequences would be unspeakable.

“Should I just quit and wait to have a baby at home?” Huo Mian looked up and asked him.

“That’s a great idea. It’s perfect.”

Huo Mian: “…”

“President Qin, can we not do this? I’m still at work, and I’m very tired. You should go home.”

Huo Mian felt like Qin Chu was being unreasonable for no reason. She loved this profession; if she quit, she would probably be bored to death.

Huo Mian turned around to go back upstairs to her office, and Qin Chu followed her.

“What are you doing?”

“Hanging out with you.”

“Why would you do that? I thought we were giving each other the silent treatment.” Huo Mian remembered that they hadn’t made up yet.

“The two don’t conflict,” Qin Chu answered quickly.

“But you’re affecting my work…”

“Just now, I was the one who performed CPR on you. Are you really complaining that I’m affecting your work? Huo Mian, have a heart.” Qin Chu was speechless; his wife was sure good at burning bridges.

“Did you have fun at dinner?” Huo Mian asked.

Not sure what she wanted to say, Qin Chu fell silent.

“Did the dumplings taste good?” Huo Mian asked with a smile on her face.

“They did.”

“Did Song Yishi taste good? Did she taste better than the dumplings?” Huo Mian continued to smile.

However, her smile gave Qin Chu goosebumps.

Dumplings, Song Yishi; she knew everything… Damn it.
