My Youth Began With Him

“You…”

Just as Huo Mian was about to mouth her mouth, Zhixin said first, “They drugged your drink, and then you became unconscious. I later got your phone call, so I went looking for you with my sister. We took you to the hospital, and that’s why you woke up here this morning.”

“So… where’s Yuan Ziwei and those people?” Huang Yue asked.

Huo Mian guessed that Yuan Ziwei was the tattooed man.

Therefore, she said, “They were arrested for intentional harming and kidnapping.”

“What? You can’t do that…you can’t arrest him, no!” Huang Yue became agitated.

“Yue, what’s wrong?” Zhixin didn’t know what to do.

“They have accomplices, they’ll seek revenge on me and harm my parents. Why can’t you mind your own business, who told you to come? Who told you to call the cops on them?”

Huang Yue was incredibly unstable; she struggled to get out of bed, disregarding the IV in her arm.

Huo Mian’s heart went cold upon hearing Huang Yue’s accusation and blame.

Was this the young, energetic girl that she used to know? Huang Yue was a colleague that was willing to stand with her, through thick and thin. She used to be such a careless and innocent girl whose laugh brightened up a room.

Why did she seem like a completely different person right now?

“Yue… what are you talking about? If it weren’t for my sister and my brother-in-law… do you know what they would’ve done? They almost killed you…” Zhixin looked at Huang Yue in disbelief.

“That’s my business, what does anything have to do with you? Jing Zhixin, we’re broken up, who the hell do you think you are? Leave, I don’t want ever want to see or talk to you again.”

“They fed you meth last night, and you were basically in a trance. If Zhixin didn’t save you in time, you would’ve jumped off the rooftop of Universe Nightclub. He’s worried about you and cares about you. Don’t be so ungrateful, Yue,” Huo Mian, furious, said to her.

“But I didn’t die, did I? I didn’t need you guys to save me… Mian, I told you not to interfere with my business. They’re really scary people and will haunt me my entire life. My parents will be in danger as well,” Huang Yue kept repeating the same sentence.

Perhaps it was because those people terrorized her, but her emotional state was extremely unstable.

“Yue… how can you say something like that? My sister helped you out of the kindness in her heart.” Zhixin was speechless.

“I don’t need your kindness, leave, I don’t want to be connected to you. If he finds out that we were talking, he’s going to beat me to death.”

Then, Huang Yue began pushing Zhixin and Huo Mian out the door.

Huo Mian was at a complete loss of words…

Zhixin was dumbfounded as well; it’s been a little over 20 days since they last saw each other, but Huang Yue seemed like a completely different person.

It’s as if she had split personalities…

“Sis… you guys should go home, you haven’t slept all night,” Zhixin said, his expression pale.

“What about you?” Heartbroken, Huo Mian looked at her brother.

“I’ll stay here and watch over her. She’s not that stable yet, so I want to take care of her.”

Zhixin was still worried about Huang Yue.

“Fine… be careful.” Huo Mian knew that she wouldn’t be able to convince Zhixin to leave, so she decided to let him be.

“Sis… don’t tell Mom about this. If she asks, tell her I’m at school.”

“I will.” Huo Mian nodded and then went downstairs with Qin Chu…

It was already 6:40 AM when they arrived downstairs.

“Honey, let’s go get something to eat.”

“I’m not hungry… and don’t have an appetite.” After all that, Huo Mian really didn’t feel like eating anything.

“Still, just have a little bit with me, okay?”

Qin Chu carefully wooed…

In the end, they went to a dim sum restaurant and ordered some buns, a vegetable congee, and milk tea.

“Yue’s changed so much, I wonder why,” Huo Mian said, depressed.

“Don’t think too much about it, let me ask Gao Ran first. We’ll know more after the interrogation,” Qin Chu consoled her.

“Okay.”

“I’ll drive you home, you should take the day off and get some sleep.”

“I can’t, I’m meeting with Ni Yang today.”

“Why?” Mr. Qin immediately became jealous.
