My Youth Began With Him

“Ahem… are you crazy? We’re so young, why would you tell you? I mean… why would you tell your dad?”

Huo Mian was so anxious that her words became incoherent.

“My dad knows I brought you here.”

“Then just say that I’m your good friend…” Huo Mian covered her face in shame.

What the hell was this? She was only so young, and she hadn’t even become fully mature, yet she was already in love.

It was one thing to be in a relationship, but his parents actually found out about it?

It felt like a blow to the head…

Qin Chu could tell that she was nervous, so he didn’t blame her. Instead, he smiled gently and said, “I have to give him some forewarning… because I was hoping that he would pay for us to study abroad.”

“Overseas? Studying abroad?”

Huo Mian never dared to think about these things. To her, they were very distant matters.

Her results were indeed outstanding, and she had previously thought about going to Hong Kong or Singapore.

But now that Uncle Jing was out working, only her mother and Zhixin were left at home.

She was afraid that once she left, those beasts from the Huo family would pounce on them and bully her mother and brother. That was why she rejected so many invitations from other high schools and came to Second High, which was not far from home.

Qin Chu looked at Huo Mian’s face and slowly said, “After I graduate from high school, I want to go to the States. My parents planned this for me, and it’s also my own wish… I want to go out and see the world. I want to gain rich exposure. As for you… your grades are so good, we can go to the same university together. You don’t have to worry about the tuition and living expenses, my dad can pay for them… As for your parents… I’ll talk to my dad and see if he can take care of them…”

“No.”

Before Qin Chu could finish, Huo Mian rejected him with a dark expression.

“Qin Chu, no, don’t do this. I know you like me, but please save me some dignity.”

Huo Mian bit her lip as she spoke.

Qin Chu did everything for her own good, but she had to live with dignity.

They could not rely on other people’s charity, especially when their family had all abled people.

Not to mention the fact that her mother wouldn’t agree to the Qin family’s help, even if she did.

Who knew how badly the Huo family would talk about her in the future?

She remembered that when she was young, her mother had always said, “We can be poor, but we must have dignity.”

An elderly in his seventies or eighties could eat his own food and set up a stall to sell some snacks.

Our family has hands and feet, why don’t we support ourselves?

So from then on, she lived with Uncle Jing in peace and forgot everything.

One must know that her mother used to lead a glorious life, but in the end, for her and her brother, she returned to the family and led an ordinary life.

Qin Chu also thought that Huo Mian might not be able to accept his opinion.

So, he changed the way he put it. “Mian, if you don’t want to, you can apply for a scholarship from the university with me. The university I’m going to sends invitations to all the best students in the world every year. If your grades are good enough, they won’t charge you anything. As for your living expenses, you can work part-time while studying. I can help you find a job.”

Upon hearing this, Huo Mian’s expression softened.

“We’ll talk about it in three years.” Huo Mian lowered her head and ate her steak. She didn’t really want to talk about this with Qin Chu.

She had nothing. Other than a good brain, she really had no right to talk about going overseas with him.

“Then it’s settled,” Qin Chu said again, taking Huo Mian’s silence as consent.

At that time, no one would have thought that after graduating from high school, they would be separated for seven years.
