My Youth Began With Him

“Hahaha. President Su, you’re overestimating me. How can I last two episodes? I’d be dead within half an episode.”

Han Yueyao’s self-mocking manner won everyone’s heart.

She might be the most-liked female performer in Imperial Star after Nie Lingxuan.

Of course, Han Yueyao’s current status was no match for Nie Lingxuan since she had just entered show business. But with President Su’s support, she had great prospects.

The dinner went well, and everyone was in high spirits.

After dinner, some people proposed to go to MTV.

Han Yueyao looked toward Su Yu.

“How about this? You guys go to the MTV of your choice and send the bill to me…”

“How about you, President Su?” someone asked.

“Some friends asked me to a night meal, so I can’t go with you guys. Han Yueyao, go with them. Bring the receipt to the financial department for reimbursement.”

“President Su, you won’t go with us?” Han Yueyao was disappointed since she wanted to tell him her feelings with the courage she got from the wine.

“No. I have an appointment with Tang Chuan and Mr. Wei.”

“Oh, I see…”

“Go ahead and have fun.”

He glanced at An. “Take my wallet and pay for the bill. Drive the car to the entrance.”

“Okay, President Su.”

Su Yu grabbed his coat and walked out.

“President Su, I’ll walk you to the entrance.”

Before Su Yu could reply, she followed him out and walked downstairs with him.

As An went to pay the bill at the cashier, Su Yu lit a cigarette at the drafty entrance on the second floor.

“President Su, you look moody.”

“No. That’s nonsense. Today we’re celebrating your victory. I’m in a good mood.”

“You look as if something is weighing on your mind.”

“Are you Sherlock Holmes? Please don’t make guesses. Now that the contest is over, you must have a good rest. I’ll give you three days off. You must be exhausted.”

“I’m fine. Don’t worry about me.”

“No. The media would say I use performers in my company ruthlessly if they get wind of it. As to your contract, I’ll tell the executives to draw it out for you. You can sign it and become a performer of Imperial Star officially. Han Yueyao, is this what you want? Will you regret it?”

Han Yueyao knew what he meant.

She nodded. “Yeah. This is what I want. I told you I don’t care if I’m famous or not, but I want to make money. I set a goal for myself. I want to buy a good apartment for my parents in Jing City within two years. The one they are living in is dilapidated. I don’t want them to live the rest of their lives in that dirty place.”

“With your current popularity, you don’t need two years to achieve that. Maybe half a year is enough.” Su Yu chuckled.

“Thank you for giving me the opportunity. I’m truly grateful.”

“Okay. You can pay it back by making money for the company. When you become a big shot, I hope you won’t desert us and join another company for a higher salary. But I don’t think you’d dare do that since the penalty for a breach of contract is very high,” Su Yu teased her.

“I won’t go. I’ll never betray you.”

The words of loyalty were nothing out of ordinary since she was his employee. But hearing Han Yueyao say them at this moment, Su Yu felt uncomfortable.

So, he didn’t reply.

Han Yueyao lowered her head and continued, “President Su, I’ve been wanting to tell you something. I made the decision to tell you when you come back safe.”
