My Youth Began With Him

“I want to treat you.”

“Treat me?” Su Yu said with a slight frown.

“Yeah.”

“Now?”

“No. After you get off… I mean dinner.”

“Just the two of us?” Su Yu said with a pitch of annoyance.

“No. With Mian too.”

“You’re asking Mian out too?”

“Yeah.”

“Han Yueyao, what are you up to?”

“I just think it’s been a tough journey to get to the place I am right now. Mian referred me to Imperial Star Entertainment, while President Su, you’re the one that gave me a chance at Imperial Star Entertainment. I just want to treat you two to show my thanks.”

“There will be many more opportunities to thank us if you’re truly grateful. Let’s see if you can score big on the live show tomorrow first.”

“No, it has to be tonight.”

Han Yueyao was as stubborn as a cow.

“Did Mian say yes?”

“Yes.”

Su Yu: “…”

“Fine…”

Since Huo Mian said yes, Su Yu didn’t want to overcomplicate things, so he accepted the offer.

“What are you treating us to?”

“Barbeque.”

Su Yu: “…”

“You know I’m not that rich. I can’t treat you to anything expensive.”

“Okay, okay… You’re paying so you decide.” Su Yu didn’t intend to be calculating with her.

Han Yueyao left Su Yu’s office after he accepted her offer. She took out her phone and sent a WeChat message to Huo Mian asking, “Mian, I want to treat you for dinner tonight. You can’t refuse… Oh, President Su is coming, too. I want to thank the both of you.”

Han Yueyao went through her message multiple times to make sure there were no grammatical errors before sending it out.

Very soon, Mian responded, “Sure.”

Huo Mian seemed to know what Han Yueyao was thinking, so Huo Mian didn’t reject the invite. She also didn’t say that she didn’t want Han Yueyao to waste money.

Han Yueyao was even more delighted now.

“Sister Mian, I know your husband is cautious about your safety, so I didn’t choose a place that’s far away. You can also bring your bodyguards with you…”

Then, Han Yueyao copied and pasted the address of the restaurant and shared it with Huo Mian.

“This barbeque shop isn’t big, but their food is delicious. I accidentally stumbled on it before. I’ll see tonight at 8.”

“Okay, see you then.”

Huo Mian was easy to ask out, or maybe it was because she showed her respect to Han Yueyao.

Han Yueyao went half an hour early to the restaurant. She had booked a table near the window. Then she told the owner that a pregnant woman was coming, so that he wouldn’t put too much spice in their food.

At 8 PM, Huo Mian came first. Very soon, Su Yu came.

Han Mian brought quite a few bodyguards with her while Su Yu came on his own. An was nowhere to be seen.

“Come.” Han Yueyao waved happily, like a child, when she saw them.

“Mian, you were fired?” Su Yu couldn’t help asking Huo Mian as they walked towards the table.

“Hey bud, it hurts…” Huo Mian said.

“Mr. Su, why did you choose to bring that up? I just got fired and I’m not in a good mood. You sure know how to rub salt on my wound…” Huo Mian said jokingly.

“My mom told me. I was shocked too. What happened? Why did you and Director Wu get fired?”

Before Huo Mian responded, Su Yu added, “Did you and old man Wu embezzle money, and someone found out.”

“Excuse me. My family is very well off. Do I care about that money? Embezzlement? How can you say such a thing? Why don’t you say we were in a relationship?”

Huo Mian was speechless with Su Yu. She knew that Su Yu was an unfiltered guy, but this was just too much.

“Hey, if you tell me, I’ll help you. If I can’t do anything about the situation, I’ll tear down South Side. F*ck those executives! Who do they think they are anyway.” Su Yu got angrier the more he talked. He was so angry that he wanted to tear down the place now.
