My Youth Began With Him

“Can we talk alone?” Huo Yanyan’s voice sounded very weak and old-woman-like.

Her eyes looked unfocused, a typical sign that her mentality had collapsed once.

Qin Chu tightened his grip on Huo Mian’s hand under the table to show his objection.

Huo Mian didn’t answer.

Huo Yanyan looked up at Huo Mian and then Qin Chu.

“Don’t worry. Even without the chains, I’m too weak to harm Huo Mian. Didn’t Shen Mingxi tell you guys about my condition?”

“He did, so I decided to see you,” said Huo Mian calmly.

“Can we talk without a man’s presence? Can’t you… make the decision for yourself? Your husband allows you so little freedom?” Huo Yanyan smirked.

“You’re trying to get me out of here. What do you have up your sleeve?” Qin Chu glanced at Huo Yanyan in disdain and showed not the slightest bit of sympathy for her.

“No. President Qin, don’t imagine things. I’m only a prisoner; what can I do?”

“Honey, you can wait outside. I’ll be fine. Gao Ran said there are surveillance cameras here, so you can come in whenever you think something’s not right.”

“Are you sure?”

Qin Chu was worried.

“I’ll be fine. Don’t worry.”

Huo Mian hid silver acupuncture needles in her cuffs and she had coated the needles with anesthetics.

She was no longer the defenseless doctor after she returned with that little thing from the island where Huo Siqian had imprisoned her.

Now even ten Huo Yanyans were a match for her.

Huo Mian was confident of her safety and agreed to Huo Yanyan’s request for a private talk.

Seeing Huo Mian’s determination, Qin Chu nodded and walked out after instructing her to be cautious.

After Qin Chu walked out, Huo Mian glanced at Huo Yanyan.

“Everything is done as you said. Can we talk now?”

“Where’s Huo Siqian?”

“Why do you ask?”

“I just want to know if he’s dead or not… It’s his fault that I became like this. I hate him.”

“He’s not dead. He disappeared.”

“Disappeared?” Huo Yanyan looked surprised.

“You don’t need to know this, and I won’t tell you anyway. Are you done? Other than Huo Siqian, don’t you want to ask about other people, such as Tiantian?”

“Hehe. Do I need to ask about her? Is Tiantian still my daughter? Isn’t she Shen Mingxi’s daughter now?” Huo Yanyan sneered.

“You must thank him for raising your daughter, or Tiantian would have been ruined in your hands.”

“Yeah, I don’t deserve to be her mom. I know. But I can’t undo the things I did. Even if I reflect on them in regret each day, it’s useless now.”

“What’s your purpose of seeing me?”

“Huo Mian, I want to be euthanized.”

“What?” Huo Mian was stunned.

“You’re a doctor and I know your hospital can do it. You have the right to make the decision, and the men including Gao Ran, Qin Chu, and Shen Mingxi would agree to it if you made the decision.”

“You want to die?”

“Yes. Don’t you think I’d be better dead than living like this?”

“You can kill yourself. No one can stop you if you kill yourself by smashing your head against a wall. Why did you ask for euthanization from me? You want me to take the blame for your death? Do you think I’m stupid since I’m pregnant and would agree to your schemes?” Huo Mian inhaled sharply at the woman’s horrible scheme.

In China, euthanasia was illegal and even doctors had no right to euthanize patients.
