My Youth Began With Him

She really wanted to get more information about her biological mother from Qin Chu.

“Unfortunately, other than the news of her mysteriously disappearing many years ago, I couldn’t find anything else.”

Huo Mian was slightly disappointed by the news.

“There’s one thing that’s certain though.”

“What is it?” Huo Mian looked up at Qin Chu’s deep eyes.

“Your father, Professor Lu, must have something Ian really wants. Otherwise, Ian wouldn’t try so hard all these years to capture Lu Yan or want to find you.”

“Yeah, I thought so too,” Huo Mian agreed.

“Professor Lu not only is an exceptional doctor, but he also conducted operations for the presidents of many countries. I heard he was once appointed as the president of the UN’s personal doctor but Professor Lu rejected the offer,” Qin Chu said.

“Freedom is invaluable.” Although Huo Mian had only seen her biological father several times, she understood his decision.

“Yes. Professor Lu likes freedom. However, if what Ian wants has something to do with medicine, then it must be very powerful. It might threaten the human race. Otherwise, why would he be chasing Lu Yan and Professor Lu all these years?”

“If there is an opportunity, I will ask them. I wonder how Yan is now. I miss her.”

After Huo Mian found out about her biological sister, she would constantly miss her.

Lu Yan, however, was like the wind. Rarely did Huo Mian even receive a call from her.

In an ice cave in Iceland at that moment, Lu Yan was in a white fur coat. She looked like a fairy in a winter wonderland.

Qiao Fei was with her. He was also in a white fur coat, and he didn’t say anything.

Lu Yan stood quietly and solemnly looked at the cave in front of them.

“Shouldn’t you go in to see her?” Qiao Fei asked.

“No. This is enough. I don’t want to disturb her from her dreams.” It was rare that Lu Yan spoke in such a gentle tone.

“Do you and Uncle Lu come here every year?”

“Father used to come here every year but for the past two years, that psycho Ian has been hunting us more intensely. My father is afraid that he’d leak the place where my mother is resting in peace, so he is willing to bear the pain and not visit.”

“Oh… That is very difficult for Uncle Lu.”

“Yeah. My father isn’t an approachable person. He’s as dull as wood but he truly loves my mother. With my father’s net worth, he could probably have thousands of mistresses,” Lu Yan said.

“Ahem. Do you really want to speak about your parents in such a way?” Qiao Fei said.

“He’s used to it…”

“Fine. You win. Yan, I’m curious though. Can Auntie still wake up? Is she brain-dead?” Qiao Fei asked.

He knew Lu Yan rarely mentioned anything about her mother, Professor Lin Ya.

Professor Lu also rarely mentioned his wife. This seemed to be a forbidden topic for them.

Lu Yan suddenly became teary when she heard Qiao Fei ask her this.

“She probably can wake up again… Yes. She can. My father told me that many years ago.”

“Who made auntie end up like that?” Qiao Fei asked out of curiosity.

“No one. She did it to herself…” Lu Yan slightly bit her lips.

“Huh? How? Why would she do it to herself?” Qiao Fei asked with shock.

“Okay. Stupid Qiao, you’re asking too many questions. If it weren’t for you willing to wander the world with me, I wouldn’t even bother talking to you… Remember to keep this a secret. If you leak it, I will kill you.” Lu Yan slanted her head and smiled at Qiao Fei.

“So Lu Yan, are you threatening me?” Qiao Fei smiled and looked back at her.
