Reborn As Noble

Chapter 1322: Bliss and Blows ( 1322 )

Garak and Marcor quickly averted Mimi’s gaze, rubbing the back of their heads and trying their best to look innocent, as if they had nothing to do with the weakened state of Jaigar’s girls.

”M... mou!” Mimi huffed, stomping her feet as she walked back toward Liana and the others, her tail flicking in annoyance.

Liana smiled, her steps graceful and measured, both hands clasped in front of her. Her maid dress swayed elegantly with each step, but her aura was anything but gentle, radiating a calm, terrifying pressure.

”Young Master~”

”Ah...” Javier quickly averted his eyes before turning to face her, flashing his best innocent grin. ”C... can we discuss this after... err...” He pointed toward Jaigar, who was in the middle of absorbing the greatsword’s power.

Jaigar’s knuckle duster glowed fiercely as it consumed the massive greatsword, the weapon dissolving into streams of energy that flowed into the gauntlets. The knuckle duster shifted and transformed, its appearance becoming sleeker, more menacing, with jagged edges and a dark, pulsating aura.

”Bwahahahaha!!!” Jaigar’s manic laughter echoed across the field as he flexed his newly empowered fists. ”I can feel it! The power! It’s mine! All of it!”

Javier rubbed the back of his head, giving Liana a sheepish grin. ”At least let me handle that one first?”

Liana turned and glanced at Jaigar before looking back at Javier, her voice soft but carrying an edge of frustration.

”And why did you give him a chance to absorb that power? Now we have a new problem, and we don’t know how strong he has become.”

”Ah... about that... errr...”

But before Javier could finish his words, Jaigar’s aura flared violently, the sheer force of his newfound power whipping up a fierce wind that swept across the battlefield. He glared at Javier with a manic grin, his voice booming with arrogance.

”How stupid of you, giving me a chance like this! Now you all die here!!!”

”Cuquawked!”

Javier glanced up at Buddy, who suddenly appeared in front of him, his massive body casting a shadow over the area, his beak curved into a sharp, knowing smirk as he narrowed his eyes at Jaigar.

”Yeah! I’ll kill that dumb bird of yours first!”

Jaigar charged toward Buddy in a blur of speed, his fist aimed directly at the massive pekko. But before he could land a hit, Buddy’s leg shot up in a swift, powerful upward kick, sending Jaigar hurtling into the sky.

Buddy leaped after him, his massive body spinning in a mid-air roll before his talons caught Jaigar mid-flight, then dove toward the ground, slamming him into the earth with a devastating impact that shook the ground, creating a deep crater. Jaigar lay motionless, unconscious, pinned under Buddy’s massive talon.

Buddy let out a satisfied squawk, puffing his chest out proudly.

”Cuquawked!”

Javier pumped his fist in the air, jumping up and landing on Buddy’s back with a triumphant grin.

”Hot damn, Buddy! Ehehehe! That’s my pekko! Woohoo!”

He waved both hands left and right, celebrating with Buddy, who puffed his chest out smugly and let out a proud squawk.

”See, Liana? There’s nothing to worry about! All done! And besides, I didn’t even need to summon my puppet knights. That means they didn’t pose any real threat to me at all.” He pointed toward Garak and Marcor with a grin. ”And I’ve got the best escort too!”

”Oh? Really?” Liana’s voice was sweet, but her eyes were sharp. ”You have the best escort, and you no longer need me or Gloria, is that it?”

”O... oi! I didn’t say that!” Javier’s grin vanished, replaced by panic.

Buddy paused, glancing at Liana before letting out a low, knowing squawk. Without warning, he shifted his body, shoving Javier off his back and sending him tumbling to the ground.

”Eeee... Buddy!” Javier looked up from the ground, narrowing his eyes at the massive pekko. ”What was that for?!”

”Cuquawked!” Buddy let out a dismissive squawk, turning his head away with an innocent expression.

”You traitor! Double-edged sword! You’re supposed to be on my side!” Javier grumbled, brushing the dirt off his pants.

Buddy just smirked wider before turning his head away, pretending to be oblivious.

Javier, now standing and dusting himself off, froze when he heard a sweet, sing-song voice from behind him.

”Youung~ Masssterrr~”

Ah... crap.

Marcor and Garak glanced away, focusing their eyes on the unconscious enemies scattered across the ground, pretending not to hear Javier’s screams.

Garak cleared his throat. ”Err... let’s just handle them and cuff them with Prince Javier’s magic cuffs.”

”Yeah, let’s do that.” Marcor exhaled, glancing back at Garak. ”We should contact Sir Alf and inform him that the enemies have been defeated and captured.”

”Yeah, you contact them. I’ll cuff these five girls.” Garak smirked.

Marcor raised an eyebrow, a teasing grin forming on his lips. ”Don’t fall in love with those girls while you’re at it.”

”Hah! In your dreams. Besides, they all look plain. Not like Armand’s girls. So no.”

Meanwhile, Javier was already pinned on the ground, with Liana sitting on his back, twisting his arm behind him. He tapped the ground repeatedly in mock surrender.

”I’m sorry! I’m sorry!”

”Ara~ Young Master~ Stop pretending. It’s not like this actually hurts you.”

”I didn’t even have breakfast yet!”

”My, my~” Liana tilted her head, her voice dripping with amusement. ”And what does that have to do with this?”

”Err... because I’m hungry?” Javier flashed a sheepish grin, glancing over his shoulder.

Mimi squatted beside Javier, biting her lower lip in excitement, her fangs showing as she leaned in with sparkling eyes, her tail swishing playfully.

”Ne ne~ Husband?”

Javier flashed a cheeky grin, still pinned and twisted by Liana. ”Yes, Mimi?”

”What are you and Big Sis playing? It looks like fun, nya~”

Javier puckered his lips, putting on a dramatic, pained expression. ”This isn’t playing, Mimi. Your husband is in pain. You should comfort him.”

”Nya? How?”

His grin turned mischievous. ”Ehehehe~ How about with your tail?”

”Like this?” Mimi swayed her tail, letting the soft fur brush against Javier’s cheek.

Javier let out an exaggerated, blissful sigh. ”Ah~ Bliss~”

Javier, still enjoying the gentle brush of Mimi’s tail against his cheek, glanced over his shoulder and noticed something. He tilted his head, then looked back at Liana.

”Liana?”

”Hmm? Yes, Young Master?” She smiled sweetly, still pinning him down with her weight, his arm twisted behind his back.

”Err... looks like that one is about to wake up.” Javier pursed his lips, gesturing with them toward Gorak, who was slowly groaning and trying to sit up.

Felicia, Delya, and Gloria began to move toward him, but Liana gracefully rose from Javier’s back and walked over to Gorak with measured, elegant steps.

She paused beside him, looked down, and then delivered a sharp kick to his head, followed by a series of stomps, her heel driving into his face with each word.

”You. Should. Stay. Where. You. Are.”

Gorak’s face was repeatedly driven into the ground, his groans muffled by the dirt. When Liana finally stopped, she turned back to Javier with a sweet, sing-song smile.

”Now~ Where were we, Young Master?”
