Reborn As Noble

Chapter 715: Rising Tides of War ( 715 )

He slowly closed his raised hand into a fist.

”Fire.”

A chorus of loud roars erupted all at once, shaking the ground and sending waves of compressed air outward. The missiles shot up into the sky, each one leaving behind a brilliant, blue mana trail that looked like furious comets ripping through the darkness toward Edmund’s distant camp.

Javier calmly lowered his hand, watching quietly as the bright trails disappeared beyond the horizon.

Then he raised his palm again, his eyes shining sharply.

”Deploy transport units.”

The air shimmered and rippled as powerful mana surged outward. Twenty large, sleek transport drones appeared smoothly in mid-air, each silently hovering just above the ground. Their hulls had a smooth, dark metallic appearance, with faint rune-patterned armor pulsing with mana. Wide reinforced ramps slid open, revealing spacious interiors built for quickly deploying troops to any battlefield.

With another casual wave, Javier activated his magic storage once more. Light formed in disciplined formations across the open field, and four hundred additional Special Operation Units materialized in perfect synchronization.

They snapped into immediate attention, forming neat, straight rows.

Then, in perfect unison, they saluted—fists pressed firmly against their armored chests.

Javier clasped his hands behind his back and stepped forward like a seasoned commander inspecting his elite troops. His footsteps were deliberate and confident, radiating authority from his calm gaze.

He paused, standing tall before the assembled ranks.

Then, with a steady, commanding voice, he addressed them.

”Today, the shadow of war falls upon our land. An army of invaders, blind to justice and drunk on conquest, is marching toward our borders. They think us weak. They believe we will kneel.”

His voice sharpened, cutting through the silence.

”Let them learn their mistake in blood.”

His gaze swept slowly across his soldiers.

”We did not seek this fight. For generations, we have built, traded, and prospered in peace. But when the wolf comes to the hearth, the shepherd does not bargain. He raises his spear.”

He stepped forward, passion burning quietly in his eyes.

”Remember the fields my father tilled, the children laughing in the streets, the oaths sworn beneath our banners, it is these things that define us. They are not just things to defend; they are who we are. And we will not let them be trampled.”

”To my soldiers: You are not just swords. You are the shield of millions. Today, you march not just as Armand, but as the unbroken line between ruin and survival. Fight with fury. Stand firm with strength. And if darkness falls, remember this: even the smallest light can outlast the longest night.”

He paused, turning his gaze sharply toward the distant enemy lines.

”And to our enemies I say this: You bring numbers? We bring resolve. You bring cruelty? We bring justice. You may break our walls, but you will never break our spirit. For every step you take, we will make you pay in screams.”

The Special Operation Units slammed their knuckles to their left chest plates.

Javier lowered his hand again.

”Begin boarding.”

[ Command Received: Begin Boarding. ]

Each unit turned in precise motion, stepping into their assigned transport drones without a word.

One by one, the hatches closed.

The drones sealed smoothly, their engines humming as they rose gracefully into the night sky, disappearing swiftly toward the distant horizon.

Javier watched them leave, eyes narrowed and posture firm.

Behind him, a slow clap echoed across the field.

He turned around.

Liana and Gloria stood there, both smiling.

”Well said, young master,” Gloria said with a graceful nod, her eyes showing quiet pride.

Liana crossed her arms and tilted her head towards Gloria with a soft, knowing smirk. ”Truly... he will inherit the Armand title,” she murmured, amused. ”Giving a speech to his own knights... and they’re not even human.”

Javier blinked. ”H-Hey... it’s not like I planned that or anything! I just... felt like saying it.”

Gloria chuckled softly, her voice teasing but warm. ”What a speech, though. Coming from our young master—no wonder Lord Garius is so certain. The way you spoke... it was just like him.”

”Exactly,” Liana added, nodding sagely. ”That tone... that presence... the resemblance is uncanny.”

Javier stepped back, his expression turning defensive. ”W-What!? No way—I’m nothing like my father! And I told you, I’m not inheriting anything!”

”Mmhm... of course, young master,” Liana said, her smile widening.

”Right, you ’won’t’ inherit the Armand region,” Gloria echoed playfully. ”Even though Lord Garius already put your name at the top.”

”Ugh... I know...” Javier sighed, rubbing his face with his hand. ”But I never asked for that...”

”No way to run now, young master~,” Liana sang with a mischievous smile.

She subtly gestured toward the captured enemy soldiers nearby, kneeling quietly in the open camp, guarded on all sides.

Even they had gone silent.

Some had stopped eating.

Others stared wide-eyed in Javier’s direction. Stunned by the speech they’d just heard.

Gloria adjusted her glasses and stepped beside Liana. ”Sooner or later, even they will swear loyalty to you.”

Javier groaned.

”...Seriously...”

He looked back at the prisoners again, and sure enough—several of them were already questioning whose side they were on.

Javier sighed quietly, then turned to Liana and Gloria.

”You two can go rest. It’s already night,” he said, his voice calm but steady. ”I’ll stand guard.”

Liana raised an eyebrow. ”What for, young master? You have over 130 special units around the perimeter. This place is more secure than any fortress.”

Javier shook his head, his expression changing.

”No... not tonight.”

He stepped forward, eyes narrowing as he looked toward the treeline and the faint glimmer of distant stars.

”Edmund will move. If he hasn’t already,” Javier muttered. ”Once the first volley of mana missiles hits his camp, he’ll strike back. Hard.”

He looked up at the glowing silhouettes of his summoned anti-air mana guns—silent sentinels guarding the field, their barrels tracking the sky in eerie unison.

”He won’t waste time. I’m sure he’s already sent out his elite ground forces. That’s why I deployed those 400 special operation units, before his army could close the distance. Their mission is simple: intercept, break through, and hold.”

Liana and Gloria fell quiet, their smiles gone. They listened carefully, their eyes fixed on the young man who now sounded every bit the battlefield commander.

Javier pointed ahead, toward the distant ridge, where his stealth drones circled in the night sky.

”They’ll ambush from the trees. Cut the supply lines. Split the main force before it even reaches here. But that’s just the start.”

He turned slowly, his voice firm.

”My job isn’t just to hold this position. It’s to bleed his army dry. To distract him. To force him to split his focus.”

Javier’s eyes shone faintly under the soft mana glow of the weapons around him.

”If he’s busy reacting to my attack here, he’ll hesitate. He’ll shift resources away from the Armand Border Wall, just long enough for my systems there to recover and reinforce.”

A small smirk tugged at his lips.

”Because once that timing is right...”

He clenched his fist behind his back.

”...The next wave will begin.”
