His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2191: Chapter 637: Heart-to-Heart in the Dark (14)

Mu Yichen’s pitch-black eyes stared directly at her, and when that flame ignited, his gaze turned ice-cold.

Qin Mu lifted her head and took a drag on her cigarette, finally feeling less stifled in her chest. She gently scratched the itchy spot on her forehead with her hand holding the cigarette, then smoked another drag, her eyelashes lowering to hide the faint light in her eyes.

For a moment, there was no sound in the living room; only the scent of the smoke he always liked quietly spread throughout the room, lingering without any destination.

”Last year, I had no inspiration for a while, and out of boredom, I smoked a friend’s cigarette, then got addicted!”

Qin Mu could feel his murderous gaze, knowing he hated her smoking, so she casually explained the reason to him.

Mu Yichen still didn’t speak, his gaze not wavering for a moment.

”Alcohol can numb people temporarily, but everyone knows that once you sober up, the unpleasantness continues and it’s harmful to the body. Cigarettes are different; they don’t make people lose their mind and can relax the body and mind, even burst with inspiration. I later understood why you always liked smoking so much!”

Qin Mu spoke and took another drag, then smiled faintly.

Her lips barely moved, containing hints of bitterness that she herself didn’t notice.

”Why don’t we go to the civil affairs bureau tomorrow, and then go our separate ways happily?”

Qin Mu had smoked more than half the cigarette, suddenly feeling clear-headed, and spoke with some life.

But he remained unresponsive, forcing Qin Mu to look at him again, meeting his piercing dark gaze.

”You don’t plan to see the child?”

Mu Yichen just laughed coldly and asked her again.

Qin Mu gave a bitter smile, sitting upright as she asked him, ”If you really didn’t plan on letting me see the child, why would you have Chengcheng contact me? We both know we have nearly thirty years of feelings; even if we divorce, we’re still family. Don’t pretend to be heartless, I understand you better than that.”

Qin Mu’s eyes finally gained some wisdom.

Mu Yichen remained silent, his eyes contradicting her words.

”Just like ordinary couples who divorce, should they never interact again? Even if we don’t see each other, as long as you’re willing, I assure you I absolutely want to raise the siblings. If you can let them spend time with me during holidays occasionally, I would be eternally grateful.”

Qin Mu continued.

”Eternally grateful? How exactly would you be eternally grateful?”

Mu Yichen’s pitch-black eyes stared at her arrogantly and wildly.

Qin Mu suddenly sighed, just looking at him without speaking.

Usually, for such issues, a clash is needed.

If a clash can solve the problem, okay.

As long as he can still handle it.

”Actually, I’ve been thinking, why don’t you let go and try sleeping with another woman, like Miss Chen. I think she’s pretty good. Don’t you always prefer women to be gentle in bed? I feel she’s definitely just your type. Maybe what you thought wouldn’t work out, after getting in bed, you’ll find it irresistible?”

Qin Mu suddenly shifted the topic to Chen Xiaoyi.

Mu Yichen just looked at her with a half-smile, refusing to respond.

”They say men are creatures who think with their lower body, only developing feelings after having a relationship; actually, I see you like that too, why don’t you...”

”When I liked you, did I have a relationship with you first?”

Mu Yichen finally spoke up, interrupting her presumptions.

Qin Mu suddenly fell silent, closed her mouth, her almond eyes unable to resist constantly focusing on him.

As long as he speaks, it’s a good sign!

”I waited for you until you turned twenty before wanting you, but did my feelings for you start just then? After all these years of effort, do you think I just wanted to coax you into bed?”

Mu Yichen spoke, seeming agitated, frowning as he questioned her thoughts about him.

Qin Mu suddenly felt a bit dirty, how could she think of the so devoted Mr. Mu like that, so degrading?

But...

Thinking about that night a year ago, she suddenly smiled softly, shaking her head in silence.

Of course she resisted his words, of course she resisted his devotion.

”But people change!”

After a moment of silence, she suddenly said, the smile on her face gone, her expression dry.

Mu Yichen’s gaze felt like a sharp blade, coldly staring at her: ”Yes, people do change!”
