A Sorcerer’s Journey

Chapter 812: Chapter 808: Invincible (Part 5)

The King of the Jewel Sea, Labulad, was indulging himself at the lavish dining table. Beside him, the Dark Wizard Apprentice stood respectfully, not daring to speak, waiting for the female Black Sorcerer Queen and Green to return from visiting the laboratory.

”What’s the name of your master?”

Labulad didn’t even raise his head, clearly well aware of the relationship between Dark Sorcerers and Dark Wizard Apprentices, and asked indifferently.

In the Dark Domain, there was no relationship of mentorship and knowledge inheritance like on the Wizard Continent. This Dark Wizard Apprentice was just one of the high-level slaves accidentally acquired by the female Black Sorcerer Queen, helping her replace generations of senior servant dark witchcraft. During times of scarcity of certain rare resources, they were handed over to the Black Sorcerer Tower for a batch of resources. When the female Black Sorcerer Queen was in the mood, they served as mere playthings, nothing more.

If one were to speak of the two most intense desires of this Dark Wizard Apprentice...

One of them was hoping that the old witch would hand him over to the Black Sorcerer Tower during times of scarcity of experimental materials and resources, allowing him to gain freedom after completing some tasks.

Another desire was for the old witch to die immediately, so he could take over the perfect, colossal laboratory and become a true Black Sorcerer!

”Reporting to Your Majesty Sea King, my master is Evil Holy Grail Kaladian. It is said that this Evil Holy Grail is an immensely powerful ancient Sorcery Instrument. After being obtained by my master, its full power has been unleashed, becoming incredibly strong. Consequently, it was ranked as one of the thirty-six strongest Black Sorcerer Kings in the Dark Domain Alliance twenty-five hundred years ago.”

Labulad put down his food, his green-scaled hand pausing his eating, astonished: ”Also one of the thirty-six Black Sorcerer Kings of the Dark Domain Alliance!?”

No wonder Labulad was surprised.

The Green Phosphorus Ghost Fire Black Sorcerer King Labulad intended to introduce Green to was precisely one of the thirty-six Black Sorcerer Kings of the Dark Domain Alliance!

In the Black Sorcerer Continent, there are countless Black Sorcerer Kings, yet only thirty-six are universally recognized as the strongest, and unexpectedly, this casually encountered Black Wizard Laboratory turned out to be one such terrifying Black Sorcerer King.

With such a powerful Black Sorcerer...

No, it’s better to leave this place quickly!

The Dark Domain is not the Wizard Continent; it lacks the binding Holy Tower Rules. If Green were to genuinely conflict with this Evil Holy Grail Kaladian, coming to his rescue might inadvertently offend this powerful Black Sorcerer King. Who knows what could happen the next time one steps into the Dark Domain...

Feeling an ominous sense of unease, Labulad lost all interest in the lavish dining table.

After all, this is the Wizard World. Even if they are Dark Sorcerers, the Sea Tribe cannot interfere at will. The Sea King Altar holds an awkward position within the Wizard World.

”Rest assured, Your Majesty Sea King, today is indeed my master’s six-thousandth birthday. After discovering you two, the invitation was merely a sudden impulse, without any malice...”

Boom!

Suddenly, a violent burst of energy erupted beneath the two’s feet, causing the entire mountain peak to shake. The Dark Wizard Apprentice, interrupted mid-sentence, faced Labulad’s piercing and cold-eyed gaze and was so frightened they staggered back, sticking to the wall, their face turned ashen.

Roar! Roar! Roar! Roar! Roar...

From the depths of the tunnel came the thundering roars of a giant Synthetic Beast, with the two creatures responsible for pulling the metal drawbridge at the entrance appearing to be summoned. Pounding their chests fiercely, baring their fangs, followed by booming footsteps, they rushed into the depths of the cave.

Boom, boom, boom...

Fierce and brief sounds of combat erupted underground, as two terrifying sorcerers clashed with sheer force in a confined space. The resulting waves shook the chandelier on the ceiling of the hall, causing stones to fall, and wine glasses to shatter on the floor.

”As expected, something happened, damn it!”

Roaring with immense anger, the floor beneath Labulad’s feet cracked with an echoing ”bang,” the fissures spreading outward. Labulad’s eyes turned to the Dark Wizard Apprentice, seeming ready to crush the weak being with a single blow.

In a panic, the Dark Wizard Apprentice screamed, ”No, don’t kill me! I know the location to control the magic prohibitions of the Source of Evil Despair in this laboratory. Give me some time, and I can briefly shut them down!”

”Source of Evil Despair? What is that?”

With one step, Labulad reached the Dark Wizard Apprentice, hovering his sharp, webbed claws in the air.

”It is a human despair reserve device my master built in this laboratory. Since the despair collected by my master from humans has long reached the limit of self-restraint, becoming a Stigma Sorcerer seems a distant goal. Therefore, this special Source of Evil Despair was researched. With the Evil Holy Grail in the laboratory, my master can unleash one hundred and fifty percent of his power!”

Labulad gasped, retracting his hand.

No wonder, as one of the thirty-six most powerful Black Sorcerer Kings of the Black Sorcery Alliance, a Black Sorcerer, who naturally suppresses humans, can now unleash one hundred and fifty percent of his power. Most likely, Green is beyond saving...

Is it worth the risk to venture underground to rescue Green?

Momentarily, Labulad was caught in a tough decision, the tension palpable. Unknowingly, a layer of cold sweat formed on the dark wizard apprentice’s forehead, time slipping by in silent waiting between them.

Boom, boom, boom, boom...

Suddenly, from far to near, the underground sound of intense battles approached, shaking the hall even more. Labulad and the Dark Wizard Apprentice couldn’t help but look into the darkness of the tunnel’s depths, seemingly somehow pursued by some giant entity, with the energy fluctuations ahead desperately escaping, yet not in immediate danger.

”Managed to escape!?”

Labulad exclaimed in shock.

The Dark Wizard Apprentice beside him also displayed an incredulous look in his eyes. Did this Elemental Wizard really escape from the attack of the Evil Holy Grail Kaladian?

It seems this Grand Elemental Sorcerer holds an extraordinary position on the Wizard Continent!

”Hmph, life or death?”

The King of the Jewel Sea, Labulad, his three-meter body covered in green scales, picked up a giant trident, pointing it toward the tunnel’s depths, as if determined to rescue Green.

”Want to live!”

The Dark Wizard Apprentice didn’t hesitate at all.

As for how to face the old witch later, surviving the current situation was more important. Serving as a valuable asset to the old witch, maybe she would be reluctant to kill me and instead exchange me for resources at the Black Sorcerer Tower.

”Hmph, then go to the control room of the Source of Evil Despair now. When those fleeing in front come out, close the prohibition on the Source of Evil Despair.”

Labulad glanced around, and the Dark Wizard Apprentice scrambled towards a hidden chamber.

Rumble, rumble, rumble...

The vibrations grew closer. Feeling the immense presence deep within the tunnel, Labulad, who was guarding the tunnel entrance to receive Green, inhaled sharply. This Black Sorcerer King was far too terrifying!

He had already said not to come, but this guy...

After leaving this time, he must demand a large compensation fee.

Resolved, Labulad focused, his narrowed eyes intently watching the tunnel’s depths. From the darkness, a figure rapidly emerged, escaping.

”Hah!”

Labulad instinctively crossed paths with this figure, temporarily intercepting the terrifying female Black Sorcerer Queen pursuing behind ”Green.”

However, in the interaction, Labulad was shocked beyond belief to discover that the fleeing figure... was actually the female Black Sorcerer Queen!

At this moment, the female Black Sorcerer Queen’s face was full of panic as she rode her Magic Wand, fleeing madly, with the Evil Holy Grail in her hands gathering the thick black despair of humanity from all directions.

”How is it possible! The pursuer behind is...”

Bang!

A massive figure, curled up in the narrow tunnel, ferociously knocked Labulad aside and charged out with all its might.

With brutal, cold, cruel eyes, a gaping maw roared, slapping a five-meter-tall Synthetic Beast surrounded by human despair into a paste, squeezing out of the tunnel.

”This is... Shadow of Despair Grimm!?”

Kalardin stopped in the central hall, raising the Evil Holy Grail, its shrouded terrifying aura igniting.

Subsequently, the black mist transformed into a Giant King Cobra. Under its immense body, both Labulad and the Barbarian Giant seemed tiny. The cobra occupied the entire hall, darting towards the barbarian giant that just emerged from the tunnel.

”Die!”

Kalardin screamed hysterically, on the brink of madness.

Roar!

The Barbarian Giant struggled against the giant maw of the black mist cobra, but under the constant enhancement of the Power of Human Despair’s influx within the Laboratory Castle, the Barbarian Giant gradually faltered, seemingly unable to withstand the Black Sorcerer cobra’s gnawing and was about to unleash a higher level of Wild Instinct.

Um!?

At this moment, the continuous support of the Despair Force around the black mist cobra ceased!

The Dark Wizard Apprentice had shut down the Source of Evil Despair.

Watching her former intimidating master being hunted by the massive beast transformed by that Elemental Wizard, the wavering Dark Wizard Apprentice didn’t hesitate any longer, immediately shutting down the control of the Source of Evil Despair in the laboratory.

If her master died, she could take her place and become the new master of this laboratory!

Such temptation, how could the Dark Wizard Apprentice resist?

Amid Kalardin’s astonishment, Labulad’s joy, and the roars of the Barbarian Giant, a black arc of light and shadow woven Annihilation Force struck, destroying the head of the black mist cobra. Without the support of the Evil Source in the laboratory, the weakened female Black Sorcerer Queen had no chance to perform other Dark Witchcraft. The elemental teleported Barbarian Giant to her side, obliterating her with one Annihilation Force Arc, completely returning her to nothingness.

”Killed!?”

”Dead?”

Labulad and the Dark Wizard Apprentice murmured incredulously at this scene. Had a renowned Black Sorcerer King been killed by Green just like that?

Before everyone could react, the blood-colored Evil Holy Grail suddenly vanished, shooting out of the laboratory and rocketing towards the distant sky at incredible speed.

”Ah... you can’t escape, evil Elemental Wizard invading the Black Sorcerer Continent, you will face the pursuit of the Black Sorcery Alliance, ah...”

From the Evil Holy Grail came Kalardin’s hysterical wails of pain.

”Destiny Box Technique?”

The Barbarian Giant also realized, its ten-meter body transforming into a thunderous arc, elementally teleporting in hot pursuit, disappearing on the horizon in a flash. (To be continued.
