Chapter 295: Thousand-Eyed Carcinus

Time passed by really slowly for Grimm. Every second was a torment.

He couldn’t recount just how many attacks that he had endured. He had, perhaps, endured at least a dozen strikes… no… perhaps over twenty strikes…

Even if he knew some spells that could aid in healing himself, Grimm was still affected by various status ailments, like stun, weaken, et cetera.

It felt like every time he was struck, the next one would be the end of him. Yet, Grimm had endured all of them and survived.

Perhaps it was the conviction he had, Grimm was able to survive for twenty-five seconds under the constant powerful attacks from this Dark Demon Hunter.

Gatcha!

Roaaaaar…

Above in the sky, about half of the Decayed Bone Webbing was now torn by the two gigantic pincers. The giant crab, as if totally maddened, was giving its all to force itself through to Sorcerer World from Black Isotta’s Realm. It felt like the crab considered going back to Black Isotta Realm was a path to hell.

Now, the crab had already breached through part of its body.

“Roaar! Sorcerer, how pathetic of you for wanting to seal me back to Black Isotta’s Realm. Once I arrive to the Sorcerer World, I will have you taste just the terror for trying to stop my master’s plan! Roar!”

The crab monster then extended a dozen meters more into the world and widened its mouth.

It seemed to be a mouth that was not designed to consume flesh.

Thousands and thousands of scarlet red eyes covered its body. One could see several hundreds of these eyes on the small part of its body that was invaded.

Finishing its words, the crab went back into the fissure and then…

Boooom!

It tried to break through with another ram, tearing another small section of the Bone Webbing.

The massive white Bone Webbing was now beginning to loosen up—not able to sew up the massive fissure in the sky anymore.

Seeing this, a weird thought unwittingly flashed in Grimm’s mind.

“Perhaps… Black Isotta doesn’t like crabs…?”

“Shashasha! You’re nothing but a Stigmata Sorcerer’s pet. How dare you challenge me, a powerful sorcerer!”

Due to the Savage Flame Giant’s ramming attack, Third Ghostpepper had to stop meddling with Grimm’s soul and recall his Soul Slaves.

Then, he quickly chanted his spell, intending to recover his Soul Slaves’ Spirit Flames.

Rooarrr!

The giant crab let out a thundering roar as it struggled violently through the webbing, locking its thousand-eyes on Third Ghostpepper. It couldn’t wait to cut him into pieces with its pincers.

“Shashasha! Puny Sorcerer, didn’t you say I don’t have a chance? Now, you’re nothing but a cockroach that is about to be stepped on by my boot! Shashashasha…”

Savage Flame Giant swung its fists wildly while spewing fiery pillars at the Soul Slaves that kept on lunging at it. It was this fiery pillar that kept on vanquishing the Soul Slaves’ Spirit Flames—thus, forcing Third Ghostpepper to continuously resupply energy to keep these Soul Slaves’ Spirit Flames burning. This in turn stopped him from casting more Spirit Sorcery at Grimm, giving him room for a breather.

Despite how furious he was, Grimm was not able to do anything but to glare at Third Ghostpepper.

This Demon Hunter was indeed strong—so strong that he could probably challenge a Level 2 sorcerer head on. If there was no error in Third Ghostpepper’s chanting and aiming earlier, Grimm would have been gravely injured.

This also reminded him just how important Sorcerer Barriers were.

These barriers could keep Grimm alive for a long period of time even when facing off six Level 1 Creatures in a Foreign Land Conquest.

However, due to how much the Demon Hunters relied on these barriers, they wasted too much time meditating to maintain them—thus, straying from understanding and developing more knowledge in the workings of the world; this in turn caused them to be inefficient Demon Hunters.

Two seconds later, Grimm finally let out a sigh of relief.

So, the effects of the Mystic Forcefield was delayed by two seconds, huh?

Still, this was within his enduring limits. Now… it’s time for him to turn the tide of battle!

Grimm quickly charged up his Magic Power and conjure up a force of energy to push back the scaly monster while pulling the bone-spike monster towards him.

“Mystic Forcefield!”

Boooom!

The energy of the Mystic Forcefield that had been accumulating within the monster’s body throughout the battle reacted to Grimm’s Forcefield; suddenly, the bone-spike monster let out an anguished roar before exploding into pieces and dropping into the Jewel Sea below.

After all, these Soul Slaves were not like their Sorcerer master; thus, they could not detect the unusual collection of energy within their bodies.

Third Ghostpepper’s eyes shrank as he saw this.

What kind of sorcery was this?

He saw it with his own eyes. His bone-spiked Soul Slave burst into millions of pieces after enduring just one strike of the spell.

Was this Grimm’s own unique Curse Sorcery? Not only could curse its foes, but it could also drastically change the structures of their bodies and also provide healing abilities to the caster?

“I can’t let him get close to me.”

Third Ghostpepper quietly thought to himself before devising a new plan, “Perhaps I should shift my attention to that weird elemental creature. This darn thing is capable of fire manipulation, disrupting my Spirit Flames to varying degrees.”

In the meantime, loud laughter could be heard from his opponent.

“Third Ghostpepper! Didn’t you say you want to kill me within a minute? Now it’s already half a minute. In other words, you’ve failed by half. From now onwards, every second is a countdown to your idiotic failure!”

Grimm, the one who was at a disadvantage earlier, was mocking him. Not only that, he intended to anger him too.

Third Ghostpepper did not say a word while staring at Grimm, who was on the verge of collapsing.

Suddenly, he recalled one of his Soul Slaves to his side while sending the rest of his five Soul Slaves leaping toward the Savage Flame Giant.

Hmph!

Grimm had anticipated this.

Savage Flame Giant had absorbed a lot of hatred by now. Thus, Grimm’s plan was a huge success. Yet, the giant had very limited time to shine.

With the combined force of five Soul Slaves, the Savage Flame Giant could last at most five seconds.

Is five seconds enough?

Of course it is!

Conjuring power of fire and ice onto both of his hands, Grimm put them together to form a dark crimson energy ball.

Becoming a full-fledged sorcerer enabled Grimm to preserve a lot of Magic Power to continually cast sorcery that would dry up his Magic Power reserve when he was still but an apprentice.

Third Ghostpepper threw a scornful glance at Grimm; he did not seem to be bothered by this. He had calculated the degree of damage this attack would cause. Therefore, this time he had made full preparation to block and counter it.

So long as he could take out the Savage Flame Giant, Grimm’s death would then be inevitable.

Beaming a cold smirk, Third Ghostpepper locked his eyes onto Grimm with his red eyes while raising one of his hands slowly.

However, Grimm beamed up a smile as he looked up towards the sky above before the dark crimson energy vanished to thin air.

“Oh no!”

All of a sudden, Third Ghostpepper’s face turned pale.

Boooom!

A powerful wave of flames rippled out in the sky above Grimm’s head. Countless pieces of bones, burst into flames, dropped from the scorching sky and into the Jewel Sea.

Using his dimensional distortion, Grimm dashed straight into the flaming waves and evaded the attacks of four Soul Slaves.

Under the protection of two massive pincers, Grimm looked at Third Ghostpepper silently.

“You’ve got no chance. Give up.”

The massive white Bone Webbing in the sky had already been torn to pieces by Grimm’s Fire Blast and the giant crab’s pincers earlier.

Obviously, it was much easier for him to destroy the webbing from within the Sorcerer World directly.

The thirty-meter giant crab carcass stretched out its legs and stood up.

This thing was around fifty meters in size.

Its giant sturdy pincers and titanic body had finally broken through and got stuck in between the dimensional fissure.

There was no way for Third Ghostpepper to send it back now.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh!

Six Spirit-Flame-burning Soul Slaves lunged fiercely into the sky to attack Grimm—the Savage Flame Giant was defeated seconds ago.

Gatcha! Gatcha!

Two Soul Slaves were instantly cut to pieces by a pair of gigantic pincers.

It was impossible for them to get to Grimm without breaking through these pincers’ defense; and there was nothing these Soul Slaves could do to break through these pincers.

Gatcha! Gatcha! Gatcha! Gatcha!

In just a short moment, all six Soul Slaves had been cut into millions of fragments and dropped into the Jewel Sea below. All Grimm had to do was just retreat into the crab’s protection.

“Ah… Grimm! You…! Good move!”

After screeching in frustration, Third Ghostpepper stared straight at Grimm—as though wanting to burn his image into his memory.

Then, without hesitation, he turned and fled the battlefield.

Gatcha!

The gigantic crab—Thousand-eyed Carcinus finally broke through the dimensional fissure entirely and descended onto Sorcerer World.

The several dozen meters’ length black fissure in the sky was then slowly sealed up.
