Rumble.

There was a thunderstorm deep in the Capital, shielding the nation.

Su Yan Mo was holding a wooden comb while combing her hair. She saw something in the corner of her eyes and a ghostly figure appeared behind her.

Su Yan Mo was scared to death and the wooden comb in her hand fell to the ground.

The figure was looming behind her, and spoke to her with a low voice, ”I’ve taken care of the task, the person Helian Wei Wei no longer exists. Let the Phoenix Girl know so that she can concentrate on the martial arts contest and find a way to become a three-star martial artist.”

Su Yan Mo eyes had a hint of delight upon hearing this news. She did not think that the elders’ actions would have been so fast. ”Dare I ask the location of Helian Wei Wei’s body? Maybe it will be of use later.”

The figure with the long sleeves froze, ”She fell from the cliff with a student who was with her. Now it’s impossible to find the complete body. Don’t put your mind in places where it is not necessary. The elders will arrange people to enter the martial arts competition tomorrow. The tea that all the warriors will drink has already been spiked by us. As long as the Phoenix Girl does not drink it, the final winner will be her.”

Upon hearing this, an idea popped into Su Yan Mo’s mind.

Are they finally initiating the plan?

”Do the elders want to take advantage of tomorrow to eliminate the Retired Emperor when he comes to see the martial arts competition?”

The man’s shadow was lifted, black nails revealed themselves from beneath the robes, and with a chilling voice he said, ”This matter has nothing to do with you, so focus on your responsibility instead.”

Su Yan Mo seemed to be very afraid of the dark figure. She did not ask more and was just waiting for him to leave. She thought for a while and could not wait any longer. Facing outside the room, she called upon the maid and ordered her, ”Please ask the Second Young Lady to come over, I have something to talk to her. ”

”Yes.” The maid retired to find the lady.

The night turned even darker now.

Gradually, the sky in the Capital was dyed green.

On the following day, the morning dawned. With a burst of drum rolls, the contestants who had been waiting in line were ushered to the arena.

An old man in white was welcoming people with open arms. The elevated stage that was already hovering a few feet above was forcibly pushed up to an even higher altitude!

People that were a meter away from the city could see every move on the stage!

As sharp gunfire was fired, the old man’s deafening voice which was filled energy uttered, ”The martial arts competition officially begins!”

The audience that stood in a circle on the stage gave a warm cheer, the climax was finally coming!

Deep in a hidden hole was Helian Wei Wei who had been walking the entire night. She listened, her eyes gleaming, ”It seems that there is something moving, it is the sound of water!”

If they could hear the sound of water from this place, it meant that they were not too far from the exit.

However the more they walked, the more Helian Wei Wei felt something was amiss.

This was taking too long.

Helian Wei Wei stopped and went to investigate the circular signs on the wall.

These were the markings that she had made with her dagger when she heard the sound of the waters.

In other words, they were back to their original place!!

Time passed by bit by bit.

It was getting even brighter outside.

From where the Retired Emperor stood, he did not get much of a good view, but he could clearly see everything that happened on the stage.

Behind him was his trusted aide, a high ranking minister of the dynasty.

Only at this time, the Retired Emperor would be this happy to sit in the seat for an entire day.

The refreshments on the table for the Retired Emperor were organized by Eunuch Sun and others in advance for many days. Each of them was carefully selected and sent for the emperor.

Even the warriors who participated in the martial arts competition were provided free tea by the Phoenix Court to maintain the energy of the warriors.

Usually, Helian Jiao Er loved to drink the tea of the Phoenix Court. Today was an exception as she had brought her own small teapot. She only wore a plain color garment, and the material was not too expensive, but the natural curve of her body was accentuated. Her body was elegant and supple like a small water lotus, and people who saw this could not help themselves from having the desire to possess her.

She stood on the stage and said, ”Let’s get started.”

Everyone turned their attention to her.

Helian Jiao Er seemed to enjoy the gazes she was receiving. She slightly lifted her fair chin; a hint of delight appeared at the corner of her mouth, but when she turned to look at her opponent, she returned a rather friendly smile. Anyone would have thought that she had a kind heart.

”Second Young Lady, I will not hold back then.” The person standing opposite Helian Jiao Er was not an easy opponent. He easily rose to Rank 8 in the Wood League at a young age, and perhaps with cultivation, he could advance to Gold League.

However, when the opponent started constructing his martial arts, he felt that something was wrong.

Taking advantage of this, Helian Jiao Er’s big sword in her hand swiftly found its way to his neck.

The man was stunned as he smiled bitterly. ”I have lost.” But… was it an illusion, why did his chest throb in pain whenever he was constructing his martial arts?

”That was a good match.”

Helian Jiao Er retrieved the long sword and the man walked down the stage; his face plastered with embarrassment.

The outcome of this match was obviously unexpected by everyone. After all, the strength of the opponent was not that different from Helian Jiao Er.

Has Helian Jiao Er advanced herself to another league once more?

Otherwise, how could she win against an opponent who is on par with only a stroke of the sword!

It seemed that this time the champion was none other than her.

Everyone was filled with admiration for Helian Jiao Er as they looked at her.

Helian Jiao Er smiled and lifted her chin higher.

”Second Sister, you are really amazing!” Helian Mei grabbed onto the long sleeves of Helian Jiao Er, her eyes filled with pride. ”You didn’t see those people who were looking at you with full admiration, it was as if they were looking at a god! Hey, if that little slut was here that would be just nice. Then, she shall see and understand what real strength really is. A person like her is certainly not worthy of even a kick from you.”

Hearing these words, Helian Jiao Er’s eyes turned sinister and said meaningfully, ”She won’t get to see this scene ever.”

”Why not?” Helian Mei said as she reached out and took the tea handed over by the servant girl.

Helian Jiao Er looked at Helian Mei and frowned, ”Didn’t mother tell you to bring your own teapot?”

”Yes, she did tell me, but sister, don’t you think it would be a waste to not drink the free flow of tea provided after a long trip to the Phoenix Court?” Helian Mei blew the hot tea in her hand.

Helian Jiao Er did not speak, as if she was hesitating.

Helian Mei lifted her eyes and refocused her gaze, ”Second Sister, if I ever come across any troubles after this day, please assist me financially. If you win this martial arts contest, you will be prosperous in the future. I would not ask for anything else, but I wish that you would allow Huai’an to be officially work part-time at any sections in the court.”

”I’ll know what to do.” Helian Jiao Er’s voice was neither flat nor weak as she promised her sister, the corner of her mouth revealed a sense of mockery.

Helian Mei who was already thinking about seeking help from the future Third Princess Consort in the days to come did not realize that those few words carried a hint of annoyance...
