Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 2098: Chapter 2098: We Have No Interest in Your Successor

Inside the Asura Main Hall.

The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master had already departed.

The Asura Hall Master had a cold expression, yet remained as composed as ever.

However, when he saw that purple sword hanging in the corner of the room, a complex emotion still flickered in his eyes.

The sword, as before, hung silently on the wall.

This sword was once astonishingly sharp, with a thunderous aura.

Yet now, it showed no signs of life.

For the past half-year, this sword hadn’t stirred at all.

Whoosh...

A figure appeared out of thin air, none other than the Wind Shattering Palace Master.

”Asura,” the Wind Shattering Palace Master called out.

The Asura Hall Master nodded and withdrew his gaze.

”Truly not helping Old Man Tianji?” the Wind Shattering Palace Master paused and asked.

The Asura Hall Master remained silent.

The Wind Shattering Palace Master pulled out a dossier and spread it on the table.

”According to the information from our Wind Shattering Hall, the Evil Lord Mansion now centers around the Forbidden Spirit Sacred Mountain, encompassing a radius of eight hundred regions.”

Wind Shattering Hall’s intelligence was clearly more accurate than the other seven halls.

It directly provided the precise scope of the eight hundred regions.

”Within this area, evil cultivators are rampant, and are growing increasingly dense.”

”If we, the halls, do not intervene, and no matter how well Xiao Xun hides, amidst such a dense surrounding of evil cultivators, the encirclement will tighten, and eventually, he will be cornered.”

”Once cornered, he will surely die.”

Indeed, Xiao Xun’s current situation is extremely perilous.

Even the intelligence from the Soul Hall and the Heavenly Mechanism Hall could deduce the danger to Xiao Xun.

Wind Shattering Hall, naturally more precise, was even more aware of how dangerous Xiao Xun’s situation was.

Without enough Eight Palace Martial Artists entering to balance the evil cultivators, Xiao Xun being discovered was just a matter of time.

It was almost a certain death situation.

The Asura Hall Master’s face was steady and icy, ”How the Heavenly Mechanism fares, how his successor fares, is none of our concern.”

The Wind Shattering Palace Master sighed slightly.

”But,” the Asura Hall Master said in a deep voice, ”within the Southern Range of eight hundred regions, the martial artists of tens of thousands of cities, billions of sentient beings, we cannot ignore it.”

”You mean to take action, huh.” The Wind Shattering Palace Master chuckled softly.

The Asura Hall Master shook his head, ”Our grievances as old fellows are our grievances.”

”The main duties of the Eight Palaces, we must adhere to.”

”Hengtian.”

Whoosh... the figure of Hengtian Palace Master appeared out of thin air.

”Master of the Main Hall,” Hengtian Palace Master saluted, but his gaze was immediately drawn to the purple sword.

The Asura Hall Master said solemnly, ”Convey my order to our sub-halls within a range of five hundred regions near the Main Hall to quickly move to the Southern Range.”

”Let Lei Xiao come out of seclusion and send five secluded elders there.”

”Yes,” Hengtian Palace Master responded, and asked, ”Should we form an alliance with the Black Demon Three Palaces?”

”No,” the Asura Hall Master shook his head, ”there’s no need to engage with them.”

”Try to contain the evil cultivators and prevent further massacres.”

The Wind Shattering Palace Master shook his head, ”The Eight Palaces have been fragmented for too long.”

”The Law Enforcement Teams of each hall haven’t coordinated or joined forces for years.”

”Now, if they join forces, differing commands might not be beneficial; this time, fighting separately might actually be a better choice.”

”Chengfeng.” The Wind Shattering Palace Master coldly called out.

The figure of Chengfeng Hall Master appeared with the wind.

The Wind Shattering Palace Master said in a deep voice, ”Wind Shattering Hall will do the same; for every evil cultivator we see, we’ll kill one.”

”Encircle the eight hundred regions and continue the slaughter? Do they really think the Eight Palaces do not exist?”

The Wind Shattering Palace Master’s eyes were icy.

”Yes,” Chengfeng Hall Master replied.

...

In the distance.

The figure of the Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master appeared in the sky, sighed, and shook his head.

Yet, the corner of his mouth also revealed a slight smile.

He knew that even though the Asura Hall Master issued an expulsion order, he would still take action when necessary.

Only whether he prioritized his successor, Xiao Xun, was uncertain.

...

In the Demon Hunting Territory.

The figure of the Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master appeared out of thin air.

The Demon Hunting Main Hall Master, dressed in a gray-white long gown, sat upright, gazing at the suddenly arriving Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master.

”Heavenly Mechanism, even if you don’t say it, this old man can guess your intention.”

Whoosh... Whoosh...

The figures of the Flame Hall Master and Medicine Venerate Master flickered into appearance.

The Demon Hunting Main Hall Master tapped the table, ”The Southern Range isn’t entirely overrun by evil cultivators, only within the seven hundred regions.”

”This evil cultivator disaster is serious, but not overly so.”

”With the capabilities of your Black Demon Three Palaces, containing it isn’t difficult; the only hard part is time.”

The Flame Hall Master sneered, ”The Evil Lord Mansion doesn’t have the guts to spread disaster throughout the entire Central Region.”

”What you want is for our Three Palace martial power to help you quickly contain the evil cultivators, giving your successor a chance to escape.”

”Hmph.” The Medicine Venerate Master snorted, ”Heavenly Mechanism, are you taking us for fools?”

”Since the intention is known...” The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master furrowed his brow.

The Flame Hall Master interrupted coldly, ”I actually think your successor would be better off falling.”

”Just like that Xiao Yi thief who fell half a year ago, probably a disaster himself.”

”Wherever he went, a bloody storm followed, causing constant unrest.”

”You...” The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master’s face turned cold.

These words, during the Eight Palaces’ discussion half a year ago, he had already heard.

The Medicine Venerate Master sneered, ”The last Xiao Yi thief, though he brought about the mighty Holy Moon Sect.”

”But the Holy Moon Sect at most aimed to kill him, even if it meant taking down opposing martial artists.”

”This time, Xiao Xun directly provoked the Evil Lord Mansion to go on a killing spree.”

”In terms of causing trouble, it seems Xiao Xun is even more adept than that Xiao Yi thief.”

”Is there a fault in killing evil cultivators?” The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master gritted his teeth.

The Flame Hall Master shrugged, ”It’s because our Yi Xiao is more measured.”

”Why don’t you see him being hunted by the Evil Lord Mansion?”

The Medicine Venerate Master also shrugged, ”Perhaps things might seem more optimistic if we don’t intervene.”

”If our Three Palaces get involved, the Evil Lord Mansion might fight recklessly; then, the disaster might spread throughout the Central Region, leading to chaos and unrest.”

The Flame Hall Master sounded impatient, ”Old Man Tianji, will you leave on your own, or should we issue an expulsion order?”

The Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master was enraged, ”Will you just watch as evil cultivators run rampant...”

The Demon Hunting Main Hall Master finally spoke, interrupting, ”The evil cultivators are rampant, but they won’t create chaos.”

”The seven hundred regions are nothing.”

”As for your successor in the Heavenly Mechanism Hall, we have no interest in managing him.”

”Fine, very well, I’ll remember this,” the Heavenly Mechanism Palace Master said angrily, with a flash of unwillingness and frustration in his eyes, as he left.
