Chapter 1553: Chapter 1553: Who Could Be So Cruel?

One day later.

Outside Bai Xin City, a clearly well-trained team of Martial Artists quietly appeared.

”Hall Master, are you sure those evil cultivators are in Bai Xin City?”

One Sub Hall Master cautiously asked.

The other Sub Hall Masters beside him also spoke in low voices, ”These evil cultivators have always been elusive, hiding in the shadows, difficult to find.”

The old man nodded, ”The intelligence is accurate.”

A few Sub Hall Masters displayed a look of surprise, ”That evil cultivator elder is truly so bold?”

”On the surface, presenting himself with the identity of the City Lord of Bai Xin City, while secretly being an elder of the Evil Cultivation Branch, scheming to devour the Black Iron Territory.”

”Does he not fear exposure and being hunted down?”

”You must know, evil cultivators are reviled by all.”

The old man shook his head, ”Evil cultivators have always acted strangely, and their methods are ruthless.”

”They seek only their objectives, showing no mercy in massacring a city. Such dangers, they do not fear.”

One Sub Hall Master said in a deep voice, ”Since it’s Bai Xin City where things are happening, why not seek help from the Black Iron City Lord?”

”Serving as the primary City Lord of the Black Iron Territory, he should oversee the affairs of each city.”

”That is not possible.” The other Sub Hall Masters shook their heads repeatedly.

”Indeed.” The old man nodded, ”The Black Iron City Lord cannot be moved.”

”All the strong of the Demon Hunting Hall have set out, he must guard Black Iron City to prevent unforeseen events.”

For a central large city, the loss of a strong protector would be disastrous.

Within the Central Region, changes are unpredictable.

There’s no knowing if there might be any demon beast attacking the city, or evil cultivators causing chaos.

Without a strong person in charge, should such major events truly occur, the whole large city would be plunged into misery and suffering.

The old man glanced around at the Sub Hall Masters and Chief Steward, and also the well-organized Law Enforcement Team.

”The Bai Xin City Lord, while an evil cultivator elder, only possesses the capability of controlling 9600 paths.”

”I am fully capable of dealing with him.”

”However, under his command, there are no fewer than dozens of Martial Arts Emperors above the Saint Emperor Realm Fifth Layer.”

”The Bai Xin City Lord Mansion is the Evil Cultivation Branch, also the lair of evil cultivators in our Black Iron Territory, extremely dangerous.”

”Everyone, be prepared. Later, it will be a battle of life and death.”

The experts of the Demon Hunting Hall around wore solemn expressions.

With a wave of the old man’s large hand, ”Proceed.”

...

In just a short while, a group of powerful experts from the Demon Hunting Hall had silently infiltrated Bai Xin City.

A few minutes later, they had reached outside the Bai Xin City Lord Mansion.

However, those Demon Hunting Hall experts, who had initially been full of momentum and solemn in demeanor, suddenly froze at the sight of the City Lord Mansion.

In front of them, there was no Bai Xin City Lord Mansion.

There was only a scene of broken walls and ruins, ashes everywhere.

Many Martial Artists from within the city gathered around, discussing animatedly.

”What’s going on?” The old man’s eyes narrowed, glancing at a Sub Hall Master beside him.

One Sub Hall Master understood, flashing out.

After a while, he returned with a strange expression.

”Hall Master, this is indeed the Bai Xin City Lord Mansion, but it is no more.” The Sub Hall Master’s face twitched.

”What do you mean? What about the evil cultivators inside?” The old man asked in a deep voice.

”All dead.” The Sub Hall Master’s voice quivered slightly.

”According to the Martial Artists in the city, a day ago, a meteor suddenly fell from the sky, engulfing the entire City Lord Mansion in flames.”

”A curious onlooker saw a lone masked young man walk out; besides that, no one else in the City Lord Mansion could leave alive.”

”Some Martial Artists attempted to rescue, and also some using the Water Dao tried to control the water.”

”However, the overwhelming flames inside the City Lord Mansion were ice-water resistant and unextinguishable by wind, extremely bizarre.”

Upon hearing this, the old man’s expression changed, and then recalled something, he marveled.

”A masked young man? A meteor falling from the sky? That’s the Meteor of Heavenly Fire.” The old man exclaimed.

”And the Purple Crystal Spirit Flame that destroys everything.”

”It’s him.” The old man revealed a look of astonishment.

”Who?” The Sub Hall Masters around asked in surprise.

”Purple Flame, Yi Xiao.” The old man’s tone was heavy.

”Report.” Suddenly, a Chief Steward hastily ran to the old man’s side.

”Report to the Hall Master, there is urgent news from the Main Hall.”

The Chief Steward handed over a dossier.

The old man frowned, accepting the dossier.

Opening the dossier, the inside was blank.

But soon, lines of text suddenly appeared on the dossier.

This was the unique Communication Sub-Saint Artifact of the main and branch halls of the Ancient Eight Halls.

Generally, within one’s own region, or several neighboring regions, information could be directly transmitted through the main and branch halls.

After reading, the old man put away the dossier, his face full of shock.

”Hall Master, what is it?” The Sub Hall Masters nearby asked urgently.

The old man took a deep breath, steadying his surprised expression, ”It’s information from the Tieling Region and Holy Gold Region.”

”Half a day ago, the Iron Fan Sect in the Tieling Region was annihilated, flames engulfing a hundred miles, no one in the entire sect survived.”

”An hour ago, in the Holy Gold Region, the Golden Wheel Firm was wiped out, its assets plundered clean, the entire large firm completely burned down.”

”What?” The Sub Hall Masters nearby turned pale.

”I remember the Iron Fan Sect being the largest Martial Arts Sect in the Tieling Region, held in high regard.”

”Who has such power, and is so vicious?”

Another Sub Hall Master also looked indignant, ”The Golden Wheel Firm may be just a small trading company in the Central Region; but in the Holy Gold Region, it is the number one firm.”

”Who could be so cruel?”

”Yi Xiao.” The old man glanced at the Sub Hall Masters, uttering two words.

”What?” The Sub Hall Masters were somewhat at a loss.

The old man said, ”The information from the Tieling Region Main Hall and the Holy Gold Region Main Hall indicates that the destruction of the Iron Fan Sect and the Golden Wheel Firm was exactly like this Bai Xin City Lord Mansion before us.”

”A sudden descent of Heavenly Fire, with overwhelming momentum.”

”Purple flames swallowed the sects and firm of the two major forces, ice-water resistant, unextinguishable by wind.”

”Moreover, the Tieling Region Main Hall and Holy Gold Region Main Hall have long suspected these two major forces of being Evil Cultivation Branches, but have never really acted.”

”What?” The Sub Hall Masters’ faces changed.

”In less than two days, destroying the evil cultivation branches of three large regions, when this news spreads, those evil cultivators will probably go mad.”

”However, their arrogance is probably greatly curbed, which is a good thing.”

”But isn’t Yi Xiao afraid of the evil cultivators’ vengeance?”

”Afraid?” The old man’s expression became stern, ”A true Demon Hunter should regard demon hunting as their duty, and take eradicating the world’s filth and evil as their mission.”

”Evil cultivators are exceedingly cruel, slaughtering lives, and we Eight Palace Martial Artists use the word ’afraid’? Worrying about revenge? Hmph.”

”Forgive us, Hall Master.” The surrounding Sub Hall Masters bowed repeatedly.

”Hmph.” The old man snorted coldly, ”I have heard about the deeds of that Purple Flame Sub Hall Master, who’s really afraid of who is still uncertain.”

”Report this matter to the Main Hall and the Ten Main Halls, none of Yi Xiao Branch Hall Master’s merits can be spared.”

”Understood.” The surrounding Sub Hall Masters responded in acknowledgment.
