Chapter 436: Chapter 435: The Coercion of the Fourth Elder

Xiao Yi galloped all the way, and in just over two hours, he arrived at the Sky-splitting Sword Sect.

Upon approaching the Sword Sect, Xiao Yi immediately sensed a formidable presence inside.

At least in the mid-stage of the Heavenly Origin Realm.

The presence was emanating from the Council Hall.

”Hm?” Xiao Yi furrowed his brows, his silhouette flashed, and in an instant, he entered the Sect.

...

At this moment, inside the Council Hall of the Sky-splitting Sword Sect, a gathering of elders had convened.

However, the person sitting in the seat of honor was not the Great Elder,

but a serene-faced old man with a steady aura.

”Hmph.” The elder snorted coldly, his expression extremely chilly.

”I have traveled miles to personally deliver these documents to Northern Mountain County, which should be regarded as an honor for you.”

”A bunch of Mystic Breakthrough Realms, plus one Earth Origin Realm – do you really want me, the Fourth Elder, to take action myself?”

”We dare not,” the Great Elder bowed his hands, yet his expression was very unsightly.

”I presume you wouldn’t dare,” the elder said with disdainful smile, casting a mocking look across the Great Elder and the others.

Just then,

with a whoosh, a figure suddenly appeared.

”If daring is in question, Fourth Elder, feel free to make a move.”

The newcomer was none other than Xiao Yi, staring coldly at the elderly man in front of him.

Indeed, the elderly man was the Fourth Elder of the Sword Sect.

”Xiao Yi?” The Sword Sect Fourth Elder’s complexion changed drastically.

”Why are you here; aren’t you supposed to be in the Royal Capital?”

Xiao Yi sneered, ”What, does the Fourth Elder not wish for my return to Northern Mountain County?”

”On the contrary, Fourth Elder, the Royal Capital is thousands of miles away from here – why are you here instead?”

”Must I report to you?” the Fourth Elder declared arrogantly.

”Hmph,” Xiao Yi snorted coldly.

Then, he glanced at the elders of the Sword Sect.

At this moment, the Sword Sect elders, one by one, had complex expressions.

Their faces were a mix of gloom, despair, and powerless indignation.

”What’s going on?” Xiao Yi furrowed his brows and asked.

The Great Elder of the Sword Sect stayed silent for a while before answering, ”This Sword Sect Elder.”

”He claims to be acting on the Sect Master’s orders, coming here to Northern Mountain County to have us leave the Sword Sect.”

”What?” Xiao Yi’s eyes turned frosty as he looked toward the Sword Sect Fourth Elder.

Following that, Xiao Yi noticed on the council table, there lay a scroll.

The Fourth Elder was just about to take it back,

but Xiao Yi was quicker, snatching the scroll away.

Opening it and looking inside, it was an order from the Sect Master; as long as the elders of the Sword Sect placed their handprints on it, it would become effective.

”Rubbish!” Xiao Yi slapped the desk.

”Fourth Elder, since its founding, the Sky-splitting Sword Sect has always had thirty-six sects.”

”When has it been your place to decide whether a sect leaves or stays, and from where does Sect Master derive the authority to send such an order?”

Xiao Yi had once researched the Sect’s ancient records.

The Sky-splitting Sword Sect, since its establishment, had always had thirty-six sects.

The main sect and the branches had always been as one.

Even as the Sky-splitting Sword Sect in Northern Mountain County had waned in recent years, though looked down upon by the other sects, no one had ever dared to question its identity.

Let alone force it to leave.

This was long established in generations of the Sect’s rules.

Faced with Xiao Yi’s interrogation, the Fourth Elder found himself at a loss for words.

After a long pause, the Fourth Elder said dismissively, ”Northern Mountain County, as the weakest county...”

”The Sky-splitting Sword Sect here has failed in its teachings, and every disciple possesses low Cultivation.”

”What use is there in keeping such a division? Should it tarnish the reputation of the Sword Sect?”

”The Sect Master issued the order, simply not wishing the Sect to become a laughingstock.”

”A laughingstock?” Xiao Yi scoffed, ”I’m afraid there must be other elders within the Sect who oppose this decision.”

”The Sect Master, having no choice, then issued the order, seeking to have the elders of the Sword Sect willingly agree to leave the Sect.”

Xiao Yi was well aware that the Great Elder would never agree to such absurdity.

Elder Duan Yun, as a well-known figure from the generation before last, was also known for his staunch traditionalism; he would not agree, either.

For any change to the established Sect rules, the Sect Master would need the support of all the elders.

Elder Duan Yun and the Great Elder were both individuals with real power within the Sect.

No matter which one of them, if even a single person didn’t agree, the Sect Master would have no authority to disregard the Sect rules.

The Fourth Elder clenched his teeth and said, ”So what if that’s true.”

”Regardless, everyone from the Northern Mountain County Sky-splitting Sword Sect, from the elders down to the disciples, is useless.”

”That is a fact.”

Fact... fact...

These two words, when heard by the ears of the Sword Sect elders, were extremely grating, but they had to admit that this indeed was the truth.

Apart from shamefully lowering their heads, they had no other method.

They couldn’t even refute, even though they were indeed angry.

Because this indeed was the truth.

They only blamed themselves for being useless.

”Dammit,” Xiao Yi suddenly shouted in anger, ”Every word is a sentence to the heart, and you call this a fact?”

”The fact is that within the Sky-splitting Sword Sect, there exists the Extreme Boundary Stele of the Sword Demon, which almost no one can comprehend.”

”It has hindered the footsteps of the Sword Sect disciples in entering the Sword Sect.”

”The fact is that the Sect, knowing this situation for many years, has still not provided any help.”

”Even isolating the Northern Mountain County Sky-splitting Sword Sect along with the other branches.”

”And this, solely because Elder Bai does not look favorably upon the Northern Mountain County Sky-splitting Sword Sect.”

”The fact is, I come from the Northern Mountain County Sky-splitting Sword Sect.”

”And I, am even much stronger than you, a Sect Elder.”

In the last sentence, Xiao Yi’s tone was cold to the extreme.

”You...” The Fourth Elder’s face darkened.

”Damned fool, when is it your turn to speak to me like this?”

”And when is it your turn to slander Elder Bai like this?”

”Simply because I have the ability to kill you,” Xiao Yi said, his eyes revealing murderous intent.

”The Fourth Elder has come to the Sky-splitting Sword Sect not only to force the Sword Sect elders to leave the Sect of their own accord.”

”But also to obstruct them, making it impossible for them to go to the rescue of the Xiao Family.”

Ever since he saw the Fourth Elder’s appearance here,

Xiao Yi suddenly realized that no wonder the Mysterious Person who hired those desperadoes told Ning Hao and the others, as well as that large group of outlaws that the Sky-splitting Sword Sect couldn’t go to the rescue of the Xiao Family.

It turns out it was the Sword Sect Fourth Elder himself who came here, trapping the Sword Sect elders.

At this moment, the Fourth Elder heard this and his face changed drastically, but he swiftly composed his expression.

”I don’t know what you’re talking about,” the Fourth Elder said with some evasiveness in his words.

”Hmph,” Xiao Yi snorted coldly and looked towards the Great Elder beside him.

”Great Elder, how long has this Sect Elder been here?”

The Great Elder replied, ”He just came yesterday, adding today, exactly two days.”

”Has he left at any point in time?” Xiao Yi asked.

”No,” the Great Elder replied, ”We’ve been in this Council Hall the whole time.”

”What’s wrong?”

Xiao Yi shook his head and said, ”Nothing, I just don’t want to kill the wrong person, that’s all.”

Xiao Yi just wanted to confirm if the Sword Sect Fourth Elder was the Mysterious Person behind the scenes.

However, just over two hours ago, that Mysterious Person behind the scenes attacked the Demon Hunting Palace Law Enforcement Team outside Purple Cloud City.

Clearly, it was not the Fourth Elder.

At this time, Xiao Yi looked indifferently at the Fourth Elder, ”Get lost, the Sky-splitting Sword Sect doesn’t welcome you.”

”You’re telling me to get lost? What a joke,” the Fourth Elder sneered coldly.

”I am a Sect Elder, standing above you of the Sword Sect, what qualification do you have to ask me to leave?”

Xiao Yi smiled disdainfully, ”In the Sword Sect, my authority might be less than yours.”

”But in the Sword Sect, I am the Sword Master, the symbol of the 36 Sword Sects, my authority is above yours.”

”Fourth Elder, either leave on your own, or I will personally issue an eviction order.”

Xiao Yi said, and with that, an aura erupted from him, and the Frost Sword appeared out of thin air in his hand.

The Fourth Elder was shocked and quickly retreated.

He knew of Xiao Yi’s deed of slaying Feng and Yun.

Very clear that he, at Heavenly Origin Sixth Layer, was not Xiao Yi’s match.

Leaving only a sentence of angry words behind.

”Xiao Yi, don’t think just because you’re the Strongest Sword Master, you can disrespect your elders like this.”

”When I return to the Sect, I must accuse you of the crime of disrespecting your elders.”
