Soul Emperor Martial God

Chapter 341: Chapter 340: Mountain God Sect Leader

Under the escort of the Mountain God Sect’s Martial Artists,

Tens of thousands of people, like walking corpses, kept delving deeper into the headquarters of the Mountain God Sect.

Half an hour later, they arrived in front of a large mountain.

Before the mountain, an eerie aura wafted through the air.

The aura was filled with the smell of blood, ominousness, and something that made one’s heart tremble.

Suddenly, tens of thousands of people became panicked and agitated.

”Great ones of the Mountain God Sect, please, let us go,”

”Please, we beg you.”

Tens of thousands of ordinary people pleaded.

But they were already injured all over, their voices hoarse.

Their pleading sounded like the wailing of ghosts and howling of wolves.

”Silence.” A Mountain God Sect Martial Artist waved his hand.

A surge of Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy pressed down on everyone.

”This is a place of ceremonial sacrifice, and you ants cannot disturb our Sect Hierarch.”

A few Mountain God Sect Martial Artists laughed sinisterly.

”Ah...” Tens of thousands of ordinary people opened their mouths, wanting to beg for mercy.

But under the Spiritual Energy Restriction, they couldn’t make a sound.

That powerlessness, that despair, and desolation.

Moved Xiao Yi ever so slightly.

Yet Xiao Yi made no move for the time being.

Now was not the time to take action.

The Mountain God Sect’s intentions were still unclear.

Moreover, Zhou Ziyang had not yet been found.

After a while, a gigantic gate in the mountain suddenly appeared.

Crack crack crack...

The sound of massive shifts in the mountain rang out.

An elder walked out abruptly.

”Our respects to the elder,” several Mountain God Sect Martial Artists saluted immediately.

”Mm,” the elder nodded, saying, ”The Sect Hierarch is somewhat tired from the continuous sacrifices.”

”The sacrifice will pause for now—continue in half a day.”

”In half a day, you may bring the offerings into the mountain yourselves.”

”Yes, elder,” several Martial Artists of the Mountain God Sect took the order.

”Mm.” The elder nodded his head and with a flash, returned to the cave within the mountain.

But the gigantic gate did not close.

Xiao Yi frowned, for there were clearly prohibitions inside the massive gate.

Entering alone now would surely trigger the prohibitions.

”Sacrifice begins again in half a day?” Xiao Yi pondered for a moment.

It seemed that no anomalies would happen within half a day.

Whoosh, his figure flashed, and Xiao Yi disappeared on the spot.

With his strength, ordinary Martial Artists of the Mountain God Sect could not detect him.

...

Leaving that land of sacrifice,

Xiao Yi leaped swiftly across the Sect.

Within the Mountain God Sect, there was no longer any fog.

Without the cover, movements had to be much more cautious.

Of course, Xiao Yi was an expert at concealment.

Ordinary Martial Artists couldn’t detect him.

...

In half a day, he had nearly inspected the entire Mountain God Sect.

The strength of this Sect’s Martial Artists was not as strong as imagined.

Ordinary Disciples were mostly at the Innate Realm.

The stronger ones were at most at the Mysterious Profundity level.

The Deacons were around the First or Second Layer of the Mystic Breakthrough.

The elders were only around the First or Second Layer of the Earth Origin.

He had not discovered any powerhouses above the Fifth Stage of Earth Element yet.

But, something puzzled Xiao Yi.

In the whole Sect, apart from the previous area of imprisonment,

There were no other places of imprisonment.

And Zhou Ziyang was not found.

Xiao Yi was now certain that Zhou Ziyang must be inside the cave in that mountain.

Just as he was preparing to go back to that mountain,

A jade pendant on his body suddenly shattered.

It was a Subspirit Artifact used for signaling between members of the Flame Martial Guard.

”Hmm? Zhou Ping and the others have returned so soon?” Xiao Yi raised his eyebrow.

His figure flashed, and in an instant, he was outside of the Mountain God Sect.

Outside the mountain gate,

Zhou Ping and the others were waiting.

Whoosh, Xiao Yi appeared in a flash.

”Captain,” Zhou Ping and the others were shocked at first.

Once they recognized it was Xiao Yi, they hurriedly greeted him.

”Why just you all?” Xiao Yi wore a puzzled look.

Because apart from Zhou Ping and the rest, there was only Fang Hu.

There was no other help at all.

”Weren’t you going to the county to ask for support?” Xiao Yi asked.

Upon hearing this, Zhou Ping and the others showed faces filled with rage.

”We went to the county base,” Zhou Ping said through gritted teeth, ”but they simply didn’t believe us.”

”They said the Mountain God Sect is one of the major powers in our commandery.”

”They have merits for keeping the peace, and they would never do such evil deeds.”

”Not only did they not send us assistance, but they also drove us out directly.”

”They even warned us not to misuse the rights of the Flame Martial Guard and arbitrarily investigate, causing unrest.”

Xiao Yi’s brows furrowed deeply, sensing that something was amiss.

At that moment, Fang Hu said, ”I also went to report to the Commandery Prince.”

”The Commandery Prince said the same thing.”

”He doesn’t believe the Mountain God Sect could do such a thing.”

”What does the Demon Hunting Hall think?” Xiao Yi asked.

Fang Hu gave a wry smile, ”Our Demon Hunting Hall doesn’t have the authority to manage these matters.”

”I came here on a personal basis.”

The purpose of the Demon Hunting Hall’s existence is to kill demon beasts.

They don’t intervene in other matters.

Nor do they get involved in disputes between forces.

Unless these forces have already caused the entire county to be in turmoil, with people unable to make a living.

Or the matter is related to demon beasts or Demon Hunters.

Had it not been for the disappearance of a Demon Hunter this time.

They wouldn’t have even dispatched the Law Enforcement Team to investigate.

”Captain Xiao Yi, have you found out anything?” Fang Hu asked.

Xiao Yi nodded and then said solemnly, ”Since there is no backup, you may as well withdraw for now.”

”I will enter the Mountain God Sect again.”

With that, his figure flashed, and Xiao Yi instantly departed.

...

In front of that great mountain.

Xiao Yi had just returned.

A few Mountain God Sect Martial Artists were just about to drive tens of thousands of people into a cave.

Xiao Yi followed them inside.

Upon entering the cave, a wave of scorching heat suddenly struck.

And when he actually reached the end of the mountain cave.

The scene before him was a shock to the senses.

There was a huge altar at the front.

Nine thick iron chains were stretched across the altar.

Dozens of Martial Artists were being pierced by the chains.

They were not dead yet, merely enduring the torture.

On the other side was a Blood Pool.

Within the pool, heat waves rolled like boiling magma.

Bones occasionally rose to the surface, creating a chilling sight.

Surrounding it was an area of crimson.

Flesh, severed limbs, mangled bodies—it was everywhere.

Mountain God Sect Martial Artists were driving tens of thousands of ordinary people to the edge of the Blood Pool.

Thousands of Martial Artists were herded in front of the altar.

Beside the Blood Pool, Mountain God Sect Martial Artists were rapidly pushing ordinary people into it.

As soon as the ordinary people entered the Blood Pool, they let out miserable screams.

In no time at all, they were dissolved into a cloud of blood.

The Martial Artists in front of the altar had their chests forcibly cut open by Mountain God Sect members,

Allowing the chains to pass through these bloody holes.

In an instant, what had been a quiet cave

Turned into a place filled with ghastly wails and howls.

The agonizing shrieks, the begging for mercy,

The terrified cries of the ordinary people melting away in the Blood Pool,

The painful outcries of Martial Artists impaled by the chains.

All of this echoed throughout the cave.

What a sight it was.

Even describing it as a human purgatory might not be an exaggeration.

At this moment, an elder suddenly appeared in the cave.

”Greetings, Sect Hierarch,” the surrounding Mountain God Sect Martial Artists saluted one after another.

”Mhm,” the elder nodded his head and walked in front of the altar.

There, dozens of Martial Artists were still not dead.

”A bunch of stubborn ones, you’ve wasted quite a bit of my time,” the elder grumbled discontentedly as he sent out a beam of Blood Light from his hand.

Suddenly, the Martial Artists pierced by chains screamed in pain.

”Old Monster, torture all you want,” a somewhat younger voice called out defiantly.

”Our captain will definitely find this place and avenge me.”

The elder’s face turned cold. ”You must be the one with the loudest mouth.”

”Who is your captain? Hah, let him come by all means and become one of my sacrifices too.”

On the other side, Xiao Yi’s face turned cold as well.

The person who had just spoken was Zhou Ziyang.

At this moment, he was disheveled, his face a mess.

His body was severely injured, and his vitality was fading.

”Ziyang.” Xiao Yi immediately made a move.

”Sea Covering Slash,” Xiao Yi called out coldly.

The sound of a tide-like sword chant appeared, and the Mountain God Sect Martial Artists around were instantly slain.

The elder was also shocked, immediately retreating.

”Who are you?” the elder frowed.

”Flame Martial Guard Captain, Xiao Yi,” Xiao Yi’s voice was cold to the extreme.

The killing intent in his eyes was so intense that it could not be suppressed.

”You all deserve to die,” Xiao Yi clenched his teeth.

”Flame Martial Guard?” the elder scoffed, ”Since when is the Mountain God Sect under the jurisdiction of your Flame Martial Guard?”

Xiao Yi protected Zhou Ziyang behind him and then glanced at the half-space of the cave.

There, a bead was emitting a blood-colored light.

”Blood Intent Pill, so you’re refining Blood Intent Pills, no wonder you abducted so many Martial Artists and ordinary people,” Xiao Yi said coldly, feeling even more certain about the unease he had felt before.

”Do you recognize Huoo Di?” Xiao Yi stared directly at the elder.

A flash of surprise passed through the elder’s eyes.

The surprise then quickly faded, ”I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Xiao Yi sneered in his heart; this Mountain God Sect was definitely connected to Huoo Di.

Otherwise, the elder wouldn’t have shown surprise at the mention of ”Huoo Di.”

”Mountain God Sect, no one will walk away alive today.”

Xiao Yi, unable to hide the murderous intent in his heart any longer, immediately took action.

...

The second update.
